Congrats 🎉🎊 🍾 on an amazing market! So sorry you went through so much but you made it through it all. I hope you are feeling better. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Not sure why people are saying it’s not antisemitism, she didn’t mention that or it being anti jewish anything. I’d have to agree it’s just a poor and weak statement to make from DMC, especially while turning their comments off for the post itself. It was just appeasement and not an actual stance. The “ongoing conflict” also resulted in many Israeli (not just Jewish) women and children being raped and murdered, many are still missing, and it’s being labeled and celebrated as “resistance” because it’s taboo to suggest otherwise. It’s not hard to figure out why that’d be upsetting to the Jewish community. Wishing peace and love to everyone, and hope you feel better soon!
So sorry you’ve been having such a tough time with health and life stuff. Hope you’re feeling better now. Here’s to growing your channel and business. Much love xx
Wow! That was quite a video. I put off eating dinner to watch the whole thing at once. I am so sorry about your medical issues. You can’t seem to catch a break this year. You have so many supportive friends in the stitching community and some pretty big names at that. Don’t doubt yourself. You are very deserving of being at market. When you get down, think of all those wonderful people in your life. I was so happy to find your Hanukkah designs. My son’s wife is Jewish while he was raised a Catholic. I make Christmas ornaments every year for the grandkiddos and I wanted to honor his Jewish heritage by stitching a Hanukkah ornament as well. The first two years I found Mill Hill kits and made those. Every year I have managed to find something whether it was on Etsy or 123. Then at the end of last year I was looking through 123 and found your designs that I can stitch into ornaments. I was thrilled. They are cute and look like they will be fun to stitch. I love your Bigfoot designs. Any way I ordered two of them. I like your other designs but Bigfoot is featured in many of your stitchy patterns. I’m definitely a fan. I’m glad you had great success at market. I love Threadworx floss. I have a few and the variegation is amazing. I was introduced to Threadworx at a needlepoint shop close to where I live, years ago. As for DMC, they should have stayed out of the political arena. That’s all I will say. If you don’t want to use DMC anymore there are many choices out there for you. We’ll all survive. Doing the conversion on your patterns would probably still be a good idea, considering the cost of fancies, but don’t use their floss if you don’t want to. Anyway, I hope you feel better quickly. You deserve a break. I love the RunnerStitcher. I watch all his FlossTube videos. He seems to be the nicest guy. I always comment on his videos and I always get nice responses in return. I am definitely going to watch that interview and am looking forward to it.
Oh my gosh! I hope you weren’t starving by the end, it was a long video! My daughter stitched the Jewish mill hill ornaments. They’re very pretty. Makes me so happy that my Jewish designs are being stitched by so many! I felt our community needed more Jewish representation. 💜
Becca I went back and watched this video after your last because I wanted to hear what you had to say. Dear sweet girl you will not be cancelled. Your feelings are heard and validated. I haven’t bought dmc in awhile because of the price point for a lot of the projects I use but this makes me want to continue to use CXC for more than the financial reason now. You have been through so much health wise. Please if it gets like that again though don’t hesitate to call 911. This is coming from an RN and also a paramedic wife. Getting adenosine can be scary but I’m glad you didn’t have to be cardioverted.
I am still shocked by the stance that they took… And I have learned my lesson & will definitely be calling 911 because they can just give me the medicine here at home. lol. Thanks for looking out for me. 💜💜
What a whirlwind Becca! I think you encountered so many roadblocks but your strength and love for your craft and business really shows. You have such a loving and supportive family, that is pure gold in my book. You inspire me, you are talented, and it is such a joy to watch your growth…you absolutely belong at Market, you have developed a niche and a unique voice. It s exciting to see what you come up with next. I found you through a mutual love of Bigfoot and look at what you are doing now. Your Jewish heritage, reproductions, your own designs…each one means so much to you and those of this community that purchase. I am someone who feels strongly that we all have a voice in our convictions, that is what this country was founded on…the freedom to choose. You deserve all the success you earned, enjoy and feel better! ❤🤗
Wow, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your comment made me tear up. I’ve been such an emotional mess lately. lol. Thank you for your kind words and your support. 💜💜
I hope you start feeling better soon, and you get some answers from the cardiologist. I am so glad you had a successful market, in spite of all the roadblocks. You persevered and it paid off! Your success at market is proof that you belong there! Your designs are unique and beautiful. I hope that you can find a way to manage your stress and self doubt. Stay strong, stay positive! ❤️🪡
Becca I am really really sorry that you have been having a tough time. I am glad you pinkie swear to go again next year. YOU BELONG IN THIS SPACE, YOU BELONG IN THIS SPACE. YOU ARE NEEDED IN THIS PLACE. Never wonder if you are suppose to be where you are. YOU ARE TALENTED, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, LOVELY, STRONG!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve brought tears to my eyes. I truly thought that everything that happened leading up to market was a sign that maybe I didn’t belong, but this community makes me feel loved and I cannot thank you enough! 💜💜
Wow, you’ve had a rough year! I’m glad your market was successful. I’ve been dealing with a leaking toilet for 2 months! We are renters and the owners seem to find the dumbest plumbers! They have been out 3 times. The city finally came out to test if we have a leak cuz of the water usage. So, now, they have to fix it or they will get fined. Hopefully they will show up Monday and fix it once and for all. It always seems there’s one hotel room with all the problems! I’m sorry it was yours. Get well soon.❤
Hi Becca, I haven’t watched you in a little bit but wondered if you were still solely an Aida stitcher? Your pieces look awesome. I hope you feel better soon! Be well
Hi, welcome back! 💜I am still basically an aida stitcher. I have & will stitch on linen when needed. I honestly don’t think I’ve tried evenweave, I think that’s my next step.
So many ups nd downs for you at Market but I think you were truly blessed by the participants. I hope you feel better real soon. When it rains it pours but the sun is always behind the clouds.
Becca, Every time I watch you I love you more. I am SO sorry for all the stress and medical issues you have been through. What a nightmare! I really appreciate what you said about DMC. I have not seen their statement but the hair on my neck gets prickly whenever I hear anything antisemitic. Although I am not Jewish I a Christian and the Bible makes it very clear that Israel and the Jews are God’s chosen people and it tells us to pray for them. I have ordered your David’s star and can’t wait to get it and start stitching it in honor of the Jewish people and a memorial to October 7. I can’t wait to see your next interview of a new floss tuber and your regular video too. I have watched a lot of market reviews but yours has been the best by far. You really gave me a sense of being there. 😍😆😎
Thank you so much. Your comment means a lot to me. 💜 I know that I probably forgot some interactions to share with y’all but I’m so glad that you enjoyed it. My health journey has been rough but I’m glad that I can share the good, bad and ugly with y’all. I hope that me being open about my life helps others feel comfortable and less alone. 💜
Thanks for your kind words and the shoutout! Have you tried Sulky or Cosmo floss? I love both and more shops carry them including online shops so easy for stitchers to find.
You definitely made a horrible situation so much better & I truly appreciate you for doing that! I do own a full set of cosmo so maybe I’ll start designing with their floss more. 💜
Dearest Becca, You do belong at market--you may not be aware of your own positive impact in our global cross stitch community. I salute you! So glad you overcame so many obstacles and weird distractions to be there and stay there. Now, about a blue barn--Janice Noteworthy likes cows. Think about her when you design another barn? Make sure there is some water somewhere on the design? Are these ideas too wacky? I love to see what you come of with. Another note: Thank you so much for the designs in Hebrew. I have a dear friend from Israel who speaks Hebrew and she is Christian, so I plan to buy the Hebrew sampler to do for her. Sending up prayers for your recovery.
Thank you! I’m not sure I would keep going without the support from y’all & my husband and our daughters. And I love your barn design ideas! Makes me happy that my Jewish designs are being so accepted in our community! 💜
So sorry you have been ill again. Hope next Nashville you get a new room. Lol. Follow your heart and do what you think is best. Everyone will stick by you.
Hi Becca! Wow, what scary and some exciting updates. So glad that you finally got some good news with your sister-in-law. I am so happy for you that Market was a success for you even if it did not go as smoothly as it could have. How very scary the trip to the ER for the tachycardia had to have been. Health issues are so scary. I have been dealing with Mycoplasma or walking pneumonia since probably Christmas. Completed a course of antibiotics after a virtual visit with my doctor but it's been 2 weeks since I finished them and I am still feeling so tired that even taking care of Walter is so exhausting. I have had several days a week that all I want to do is nap all day long. I have a physical scheduled for next week and then I have to find a new doctor since my doctor (who I really like) is moving to Northeast Arkansas, to go back into private practice instead of a group until he retires, where he has family. Not looking forward to switching doctors yet again. Walter is so much fun these days although I will be happy once toilet training is complete. He is hit and miss right now. That boy loves being outside and playing in the dirt, definitely all boy! He is so creative with building and magnetic blocks. I bought him a 24-piece puzzle which he solved in no time so now have advanced him to a 48-piece puzzle which he is doing well on. He knows his ABCs, can count to around 15, even surprised his pediatrician with his knowledge of words and the correct usage of them. His mom is going to have her hands full with homeschooling him at the rate he is learning things. Hope you get some answers at the cardiologist appointment. Please take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. Hugs. Dawn in Texas
There’s a lot of antisemitism going on right now in the world..and putting myself out there with my Jewish designs creates a target but luckily everyone has been very accepting and supportive. We’ll be in MI at the end of April, so I’ll have to get a pic of Uncle Dean’s barn to start working with. 💜
Hi Becca! You have every right to speak your opinions, but I really do not see why the DMC post has effected you so badly. It is not an anti Jewish post, it just seems a post about wanting to help the people of Gaza during this terrible conflict, I can’t see why that should be upsetting to you… I really don’t want to upset you more by saying this, but to support the innocent people of Gaza, and they are innocent, is a good thing and not an anti Jewish statement. Please dont be offended by me saying this and I hope you’re feeling better very soon. OST
Hi! Of course I won’t be upset at anyone leaving a comment to something I’ve publicly posted but I didn’t mention antisemitism. I think a ceasefire is much needed and that the hostages that are being held by Hamas need to be freed. I feel that their post was hollow & with no context and even more so because they turned off the comments. Support for both sides needs to happen & it breaks my heart that there are so many innocent lives being taken. 💜💜
The reason I felt I needed to point out that the post was not anti Jewish was because you said that you felt alienated because of your Jewish heritage and that it had alienated the Jewish community. To me that seemed that you felt it was an anti Jewish post.💜
I don't' agree with your statements about DMC. And I also support your ability to make them. I think you should boycott DMC if you feel you need to. We vote with our money and I'm throwing my support behind DMC for their post. Don't be afraid to be loud about the things that matter to you.
I’m not sure I want to boycott DMC just yet but felt that their statement should be shared because I have a large Jewish following & many who aren’t Jewish but show their support. I respect we all have different views on this topic and appreciate you leaving your comment.
Congrats 🎉🎊 🍾 on an amazing market! So sorry you went through so much but you made it through it all. I hope you are feeling better. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
