Every truckie knows getting stuck is a very stressful thing….. I’d imagine that after raising the float to clear the kerb they were able to get going… id also imagine more comprehensive route planning will need to take place in the future by those responsible for that…..respect to the truckies out there makin it all happen for the rest of us.

Thats purely the joys in running oversize they send you places a normal truck and trailer struggle to get into a 5x8 float plus the 2x8 dolly is alot of tyres to drag and it wouldn't be as easy as if those cars wernt there. He still would have struggled because of the turning circle of the trailer combination just sit back and admire 🤙🤙

@@brown-cow For a number of days in advance, temporary signs are posted along the affected stretches of street, stating "no parking" on a specific date from 'A' o'clock to 'B' o'clock. Driver should have better judgement than that. Should have been able to see he couldn't make the turn with out running over the medium strip and blowing a tyre. Park up before the turn and get cars shifted. The route should have been scoped before the day and witches hats put out in the morning to stop cars parking close to the corner. Lifting the suspension is not the answer because it will put all the weight on one or two axles when climbing the kerb and break something.

When I was young I believe they had to do oversize transports through the night and weren't permitted to be on the road after something like 5am but I believe the law is basically opposite now where the have to do it daytime and aren't permitted on the road in the late/early hours of the morning, in the name of fatique management. Travelling australia at night years ago the hwy's were swarming with trucks, for the last 20 years or more they are all off the road laid up in rest area's before 10-11pm and don't get moving till after 5 at the earliest. I believe special permits are required to drive a heavy vehicle in the 'high risk' hours for fatique related accidents and the driver has to have had special fatique management training.
