Yep this is exactly how shunters work, if your taking a trailer on the road you might wanna, actually inspect the wheels and tires, shunters are busy thats why they just stand back and basically make sure they aint flat, lower the suspension all the way untill your 5th is under the trailer the raise all the way back onto the pin, and when you put your air lines on give the collar a half turn,
I thought the trailer brakes come on automatically when you take the red line off ? also most shunters only connect the red line, unlike yourself conecting the yellow red and electric abs isnt needed when shunting,.evri have some nice new equipment to, which depot are you at ?.keep up the good work,.cheers,.
@cabovermike Hi . What people doing in real life is a little different than what I showed here . Shunters using only red line as is much faster of course . Trailer brake applies itself after disconnected red line .. Depot is Rugby SuperHub . You can see how busy it is on different video on my channel .
@cabovermike ahh ... our tugs doesn't have abs . We have unit parked on one bay and before putting empty on outbound we need to check it with that unit
Can you answer me 1 burning question? When i go to rdc,s etc and there is a speed limit of say 10mph why do shunters fly round the depot like their arse is on fire its just plain wrong innit?
Hey Andy, tugs are limited to 15 mph, and shunters can go that fast too. Also, when you see a ton of work, you're trying to get it done so you can chill out instead of working nonstop. Also shunters have priority in the yard . I didn't made those rules ... I can say that the same why the hell, on roadworks where is 50 mph almost all drivers going on full 56 limit ... ? 👀👀👀 overtaking everything on the way ? Why ?
@crazyshunter the only common explanation for 56 mph in a 50mph zone,is some drivers have this oh its 10% +2 before your booked 10%+2 of 50 =57mph as for the shutters I asked the qurmestion cos lots seem to be going a lot faster than 15mph cheers anyway stay safe 👍🏻
