Star Wars Episode 1: Racer glitch? Abyss lap completed in 37.26 seconds

- So I was playing around with SWE1R, and decided to try out the infamous Abyss track for fun. While doing it, I managed to come across a really weird glitch that allowed me to complete one lap of Abyss in 37.26 seconds.
It works because when you tilt a large pod onto a slanting wall, it's possible to clip through it (dunno why) and fall off the track. However here I had to use it to my advantage to clip through the wall and cut across to the other track, and yeah I had to crash it because it's really hard to pull it off.

Huh, neat, didn't know about that one. Pretty swaggy looking, and certainly something I could see happening in the movie.
There's another, much faster skip that involves climbing up the wall right next to the start line, then jumping out and around behind the line - the entire track can be completed in under 20 seconds if you do that 3 times.
We found another glitch too, we're currently ardently researching on perfecting it (pod racing for hours on end and glitching the map to shit) - do you have a video of how to do your glitch?

It works because of the penalty track, which updates your position as you fly over it, thus tricking the game into thinking you're coming back to the start line from behind after leaving it.
on my childhood 64 cart for this i had a lap time of 27 seconds and have been trying to figure out how to do this again this week. Thanks for the video!
turns out you can shave off a LOT more time than you think with this!!
my best lap time is a 24.311 with bullseye navior (on the ps4 version)
in the jump itself, you can brake in the air and land on the track without crashing, saving you up to 8 seconds
you can also hop over the first barrier in the beginning and land on the top part of the tunnel using the same method (although you have to turn sideways before going over) which saves you about 3-5
combine this with good boosting and you have a pretty optimized time

In my nintendo switch my record is 1:22 min on 3 laps
I'm not sure you know about this HeroLinik, but there's a whole speedrunning side to this game, of which can be found on speedrun.com, and the WR for the 3 lap skips time is 18.917 seconds, and the single lap record is 2.314 seconds! I only say this because since I speedrun the game, and the game deserves more attention lol

Is there a speedrun section that focuses on actually racing rather than just clipping through walls etc.?
@@GoldenSunAlex most of my runs are considered full track, there are skips and no skips categories so yes. If you go to my channel, and track that isn’t labeled “skips” is the full track. I also have playlists labeled with and without skips
@@domiraessb I had a look at the site. Looks interesting, but not going to buy a switch capture card for it.
I know WHY it needs video to prevent skips etc., but it's still annoying.
