Damn. I remember this one all too well. Her name was Maria and she was fine as hell. Damn it took awhile for me to grow a pair. This band, however, was and is still one of the best-sounding rock bands out there. Great songwriting, production and the musicianship is perfect. These dudes complimented each other very well. It's no wonder I keep coming back to listen to these great songs. So sad for their losses. Today's radio trash just doesn't compare
A gem, that was and will always be a great album! Love this tune. When I wear my Knack t-shirt to concerts nowadays, I get lots of love….thanks to their RnR luv. 🤘🏻🎸
I think perhaps the biggest damage to the backlash they faced after such massive & quick success was that Bruce Gary is in no way known or revered to the level he should be in rock history. Such a great drummer. Damn. RIP
My favorite Knack original. I love their cover of Buddy holly's "heartbeat". Their lead explosion in "My Sharona" still moves me, too, along with "oh, Tara" and so much more. They were a fine band in a fine period of changew and excitement in pop music. I understand that they're still around. I'll look then up and support the band 9again) with album purchases and seeing a concert! :)
How many Knack fans know that Doug's brother is the #1 (generally speaking) trial lawyer in Michigan? Jeffery is very well known and respected in the court system. Just a bit of trivia for y'all. :)
@idospots idospots, if you like that check out the "Knack-live-at-Carnegie-Hall" version of this song. I'm an "everstraight" male, but I can honestly say in the second chorus of this song Fieger breaks into the biggest, cutest grin at Averre when the latter starts harmonizing in that "chipmunk" voice. A lot of this band's songs though musically great weren't very wholesome, but moments like these make them almost look innocent.
@mdelair420 Peace and God bless back to ya, friend. (BTW, I had "Get the Knack" on vinyl and cranked it up over and over back in the day, early college for me.)
I WAS ACTUALLY AT THIS CONCERT. IT WAS HELD AT AN INDOOR OPERA HOUSE IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI. GREAT ACCOUSTICS, BUT TO SMALL AN ARENA FOR HOW POPULAR THEY WERE AT THE TIME. WON TICKETS OFF OF Y100 RADIO STATION AND WENT WITH THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, ALTHOUGH WE HAD BROKEN UP ONLY DAYS BEFORE THE CONCERT, WE DECIDED TO MAKE THE BEST OF A WEIRD SITUATION. IT WAS PRETTY MUCH THE LAST NIGHT WE SPENT ANY QUALITY TIME TOGETHER, BUT A MEMORY THAT I'LL ALWAYS HOLD ONTO.

I love Doug but i see at the start he rubs his nose.. and he had a ball of fun on stage. He looks very happy his expressions on his face are beautiful. R.I.P. Doug ❤
@mdelair420 Yes they were, but Mr. Fieger loved to "push the envelope". Listen to "She's so (Selfish)" and count how many times the "f" word is used (as well as other expletives)...and I always have enjoyed thoroughly that song's music. In his "Sky" days he sung about "mountains of cocaine". It's said that the "f" word (in an article i read quoting the band and their producer) was interwoven in the "My Sharona" chorus as well on the song's studio version. It was just what he did then.
BTW, I feel for Mr. Fieger. He and Bruce Gary died way young, with neither of them listed as having wives or children as survivors in their obituaries. His/the Knack's "Re-Zoom" album had a sad song he wrote called "Mr. Magazine" that showed the depth of pain he carried around from being rejected by the critics. Hope he was able to finally let that go before he passed on.
Such a great band. If The Knack had toiled in obscurity and not been so commercially successful, they might have been revered as power pop cult heroes (sort of like The Rubinoos or the amazing Flamin Groovies), instead of being targets of those nasty "Nuke the Knack" campaigns.
I disagree Good girls on't is a fantastic song !!!! IOne of my favorite cause I was a good girl but kinda a rebel on the inside and it describe me to a T ... Still love that song today ! Could listen and listen it over and over again !! R.I.P Doug you are so missed !! Who Loves ya BABY !!!!! ME !! LOL
I agree with them not getting any respect.....they were an awesome band, & could reproduce live what they did on record........still love Bruce Gary's drumming. Concerning the f word in My Sharona chorus....in one of the live videos on here, you can see Doug mouthing the "Muh Muh Muh" with an "F", not an "M", so that's probably what he was really saying there lol
+Ping Pong I truely hope that you dont believe that. PLEASE tell me that you are not that ignorant. The guys are old enough (or older) to be parents of One Direction. Some people dont grasp the concept of when song were first written. Its like saying Queen ripped off Vanilla Ice with the "Under Pressure" sample.
A band I’ll never ever forget! I played their album Get the Knack to a nub! Yes I still listen to them!
My absolute favorite Knack song. Brilliant band, and very underappreciated.
Still sounds GREAT all these years later. Best song on the album!

i was in the front row for this concert
I'm jealous!
Green with envy here.
KNACK Rules 1979 They will be missed.
My personal favorite! I think it's pretty rare when every song on an album is awesome!
True.
Bruce Gary was a HOT DRUMMER! Great song. Number or Your Name reminds me of a Rocked-UP Buddy Holly song.

I believe his name is spelled Geoffrey. Yes Geoff Fieger is an Excellent attorney, very famous! I believe he's a Knack fan too, LOL.
I still love those guys they rocked
My favorite knack song!

Pure Pop Perfection.

Awesome. Loved 'em from back in the day...
Even better than My Sharona. A truly perfect Rock/Pop song. Great musicianship as well!
Damn good band.
Love the band

Get the Knack was such a great album. Does anyone know the venue this particular show was at?
+Al X Carnegie Hall I believe.
Guzman cultural center, Miami, Fla. I was there!

Check out Doug laughing at Berton's Alvin and the Chipmunks-like falsetto harmonies.
