So it’s an armoured truck. Why can’t people describe it as an armoured truck?
because it's expensive ^^'
If it was American, it would be "All-terrain armoured logistic support vehicle - heavy" or ATALSH for short.
Because in that case you couldn't sell it for a price of a MB Tank.
At 3:19 the rear wheel steering is obvious. Might have been worth mentioning.
Funny how they mention "the Swiss" like a unknown entity while the vehicles actually come from there.
Yeah, the Swiss bought a Mowag armoured truck. Go figure.
Which is now owned by a division of an American company, General Dynamics. So, just like automobiles, components come from all over the world.
A land vehicle named after a bird.
Don't forget the US F-111 aardvark
@Gar tiger, panther, leopard??
Ya I don't no why some manufacturers can't make it that simple, animal for land equipment, fish names for sea equipment and birds after aircraft... maybe they want to seem complicated and sophisticated
@@wanjevi UK is typically weather events for aircraft. (spitfire's first name was the shrew, but was changed as it wasnt agressive enough for war time). main battle tanks start with C. helicopters.... Lynx.... Gazelle. i think they just pick a rough subject and role with it in the UK. but would make more sense like you say
First "Eagles" were armored reconnaissance vehicles (Humvees). They are/were the eyes of the commanders. That's the reason they are called Eagles. By the way, English pronounced "eagle" sounds exactly the same as the German word "Igel", which means hedgehog. Some guys in the army regularly mixed it up 😉
How many ordered by uk and in what capacity??
It seems to be in the MRV-P competition.
Ford Falcon named after a bird; Maseratis named after winds; Lamborghinis named after bulls; Ford Cortina named after a ski resort; Triumph Dolomite named after a mountain range; Comet tank and Meteor tank engine! 🙂🙂🙂

Can it survive a nuclear emissions inside Crew in the truck
Is this going to be the new European border patrol vehicle ?
good one XD
I was a eagle driver in the swiss military. I would like to drive the new eagle 6x6 a lot!
Can it be driven on water?
Nice video.
APC. Brits should buy BAE, not General Dynamics
swansea007791 should reject all of them because they are buying Boxer too.
I think the key word was NATO. It's ok for uk to have our 8×8 boxers with modular and is a really good vehicle . It is also very wise to have purpose built vehicles that are dedicated to a specific role.
👍
Are the British incapable of equiping their armed forces? Used to be world leaders leaders.
Just incompetant governments and generals constantly changing their requirements until armoured vehicle manufacturing all but died in the UK. Now its all foreign owned with BAE making its vehicles in Sweden.
I can´t hear anything else than “Fi´hicle” 🤔
I need one.
Doesn't much look like an Eagle to me. I'd go more for a Bear.
The Swiss buy a fossil burning vehicle? Hope it’s very quiet ;-)
Buy loads
The Swiss? 😂 For what?
Sitting on the fence?
