I cannot wait to see more of Quake lore! Saddly I cannot play the games for myself, but I love to watch videos such as this to keep up with the lore! Nice video! Very well made, explendid editing and good pacing! I only wish the videos were longer!
Although the AI voices of this series at first threw me off, I can tell a lot of passion and effort went into editing these videos. Hearing the lore snippets from Q1, QC, and the comics being voiced grew on me and you presented it in a really nice, narrative way instead of lore dumping a bunch of facts, which was really pleasant to watch. Overall, glad you made this series and happy to see Q1 lore getting some love.
Alright brother excellent work! I truly had no idea Quake was this deep. And I had forgotten just how fun the first 2 games were. I downloaded them on gamepass cos of your videos 😂 I also shared your vid on my twitter, hopefully get some more eyes on you because you definitely deserve it. Glad you're using the hashtags.
These games are nearing their 30th anniversary, and yet they hold up remarkably well, outshining many contemporary titles. Is it the game design, nostalgia, or perhaps a combination of both? ^^ Much appreciated, thank you! 😊
Now I’m beginning to wonder if the 1st Quake is in the same universe as H.P. Lovecraft’s stories… Either way, I now want a movie on Quake with all this fascinating lore.
such a shame you didn't use the first two expansions, i really like them because they show Ranger's endless determination, as he seemingly jumped at Quake's realm twice, consecutively, to stop each new evil plot. But the vids are pretty damn good, amazing presentation, so i hope you guys can go from Q1 to 2/4 (alongside the Call of the Machine one, which has some ties to 1) and finally 3/Champions.
I was disappointed to discover that even the first two official expansions aren't considered canon. Heck, the second one is centered around time manipulation. They could have possibly used a 'reset time' excuse at the end to place the ranger back at the conclusion of Quake 1, and then progress to 'Champion'. But keep on the look out, I might be doing a "unofficial video" soon ^^
@@lechumqc7910 well, iirc, the Quake 1 remaster was done after QC, so you could easily fit the first 2 (and maybe Dimension of the Machine, because it shows a curious map with Q2 elements) in a way that works. Likewise for Call of the Machine. This is why i don't take QC too seriously, lol, but hey, i hope you make more Quake/Id lore vids. You actually made the comic seem more notable than what i read (i dont even remember any of this, lmao)
These 3 quake lore videos blew my mind. I own the QC comics and played quake after the remaster came out. I never imagined the lore was this deep and mind blowing. Honestly, I hope that if someone sees this comment that they make an animation series on YT the way you described the lore, but with a hint of how Kane pixels does his backrooms videos. Every now and then just shift views from the eyes of characters to like security cameras and other things. I think that'd be so cool, one could dream right 🤣 anyways, long story short, awesome work on the lore! Keep up the good work!
its always interesting the skull symbol seen in some areas would become the Strogg emblem in 2 and beyond. If they ever were to make a new Quake, that'd be an interesting intersection, Shubs forces and cosmic beings vs the machine monsters, maybe even as a big mechanic in the game
What if I told you that those crates with the symbol come directly from the Stroggs? It's possible that humans weren't the only ones to come into contact with Shub-Niggurath :O If you're curious, you should play 'Quake 2: Call of the Machine' to see what I mean. Or, you can wait for the release of my first episode about the Strogg wars. We'll delve deep into this topic :D

I found your channel from the DOOM 3 video and I gotta say I love the videos like these! Your channel absolutely deserves to blow up. The amount of work in these videos is just phenomenal. I'd absolutely love to see a dive into the lore of the War against the Strogg IE Quake 2/4 and even ETQW or possibly diving into more stuff involved with Quake Champions! Regardless of the content I'm definitely looking forward to more lore videos.
I do hope we get a new game that advances the story of Ranger, and maybe have connections to Quake 2 and maybe 4 so we can finally learn what happened to Bitterman, cause I don't believe that Bitterman's Quake 3 bio to be canon.
The word "canon" hardly applies when the stories were never considered important to begin with. They didn't even bother to give Quake 2 a different name, when it was supposed to be a totally different story. I'll put together pieces of the stories in the way I like, disregarding what I don't, there's no canon to worry about, just short paragraphs written by different people with no storytelling purpose. This video is great by putting those together, but if you want to imagine a story where stroggs and Q1 monsters share the same universe, go for it.
First comment, I really want a coop Quake 1 sequel with Ranger and Deathknight trying to find a way back to earth and Deathknight being gifted the dire orb from Ranger in the end.

The narrative surrounding Gilman is the one I grappled with the most. Not too long ago, I was introduced to the theory that he is the dark Young Ranger slain at the end of Q1. Intriguingly, your insights remind me of a line from Ranger, suggesting that some entity seems keen on him finding the rune. Could this imply that an elder being sought to eliminate Gilman? Regarding Visor, I've always perceived him as a type of 'keeper'. He appears content in his current realm, potentially making the task more challenging for others who yearn to escape.
But didn't Ranger killed one or two elder gods already ? , he defeated them. Unless the twist is they never fought him with their true power or something and they can esilly come back to life .
