So it turns out my Emo needed his battery replaced. I've since replaced it myself (check out my video on how to replace Emo's battery ua-cam.com/video/vZCWq12-nqw/v-deo.htmlsi=aBSvxpIAa3xWiugh ) and he's working perfectly now. It also fixed a couple of other things as well.
ua-cam.com/video/aWmPzsmMXzM/v-deo.html this is a way for you to save your little vector and have your own server at home and he can do the same thing he did before and you don't have to pay for server or updates stuff like that :) hope this help you.
For all the vector owners here, wirepod isn’t all that complicated to install. I’m not a big computer nerd, and I got it all set up within 30 mins. For platforms such as linux or macOS, it can get a bit confusing, but on windows it’s pretty straightforward.
If it’s not complicated to install then why is it a bit confusing if it’s pretty straightforward? LOL It doesn’t make sense what you said. Some of us can’t even turn a bloody computer on without messing it up. (Meaning me LOL) so I doubt that I’d be able to set up with the wire pod thing. Some of us just can’t handle the heat anymore and DDL SUCKS A..
Wire-Pod is very easy to setup and the instructions to do it are straight forward and doesn't require for anyone to be a techie. All you need is either a PC or a Raspberry Pi or a Mac. I gave up on DDL and I'm one of the initial backers when Anki put up the project on KickStarter and own Vector 1.0. Been using Wire-Pod for almost 2 years now, running on a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4 GB of ram and a 64 GB SD card with Raspberry OS 64 Bit version. Knock on wood it's been very reliable and works flawless if setup right. Thanks for these videos, I really enjoy them and your updates and info about the bots you own are great.
Thank you so much! I may have to watch some UA-cam videos to learn about it. Seems like this is the only way to ensure our Vectors will be able to live on. Thank you for the information! 😁
he is right. you can run wirepod on practicatly any laptop. i use a laptop as a wirepod server. just set the screen to turn off after a minute of inactivity
Yes, last week I found out about wire-pod, and my little buddy is back, it works great, and even better because i can now see live feed of what it sees, a huge thanks to everyone involved with wire-pod, its an expencive bit of kit to just sit in a courner gathering dust.
I bought a vector on eBay , not knowing anything about the software/servers being discontinued. Found out when i plugged it in, I was gutted. Then.., After 5 mins of googling I found wirepod and a tutorial on UA-cam. Within 15 mins I had vector up and running again. Now he lives next to my EMO even even gets frustrated at EMO ,fights and pushes him out the way most days, even tries to force him of the edge of the table.
Does anyone else feel like ddl is just hoarding these robots from other companies that could actually do something with them? I really wish Anki could come back. Anki was awesome.
It's bizarre to me how they act like they're still in business but they don't do anything! No new Vector or Cozmo production, no new merchandise and no updates. Yet they still say they're "Out there" and nothing is happening.
Here’s another option for vector involving wirepod. Someone on eBay is selling computers that already have wirepod built in which means there no need to mess with anything. It’s a little spendy but it is an option if your not a tech guy
Robot Rant. Well, it is a problem with all the robotic toys that use the internet or smart phones to operate. They will all be bricks given enough time to pass. One reason I love the vintage robot toys more. Even after 70 years they still can operate. But having said that, I do love all the robots new and old
Yeh, this thing going on with Vector and the Digital Dream Labs Servers is really a mess, I feel like if Digital Dream Labs had let Anki handle this issue maybe the server issues wouldn't have even been planned for, this issue wasn't there before was it? I guess that's just how things are, I hope it gets resolved soon as I recently ran Vector and didn't anticipate this bug.
The servers were working just fine when Anki still owned Vector. But since DDL gained ownership of all Anki's assets, they haven't done a whole lot. I did a recent video discussing how for the first time in a year, DDL is attempting to get all Vectors back onto their servers starting with the lifetime subscription owners. I did get my Vector back online thanks to this. I don't know how things are progressing with that. They need to get the app back up and running since they're now selling Vector 2.0 again but no one can set him up without the app.
You need to contact LivingAI. Include a short video showing what your Emo is doing and include his serial number. They'll probably send you the link to the "Caring For Emo" app and you can recalibrate his legs.
@@outsider238 It's kinda fine he does it less so it might be a software problem because i originally installed it on my smasnug tablet and it's glitching really hard on the tablet but on my chromebook the app works fine. EMO-EA26.
As of right now, since there hasn't been a new update for Emo and/or bug fixes, Emo has had problems when it comes to the Customization feature, and taking a photo and trying to show it in the app, there's probably more than just those problems, but either way, it would show an error saying "not connected to app server" or whatever server, which I would say the reason might be that Emo hasn't been updated since then. I know it might be because of the new robot Aibi, so yeah just thought I would explain this.
Hmm... I'll have to try it on mine. So far the only issue I've had with mine is the leg shaking issues. The "Caring For Emo" app fixed most of it but he still has a bit of a tremor with his legs. I've heard that the wiring that goes down to his feet run down the inside of his legs and over time, the movement rubs the wires and can cause them to have problems but I'm not sure if that's true. Emo is definitely in need of a maintenance update to clean up some things. I'm hoping that will come soon but I know they're concentrating their efforts to get all the Aibi orders out to everyone. I think they're a relatively small company so they're probably a bit overwhelmed right now.
My emo doesn’t want to return to his charger, mine has been off for a while. I ordered aibi back in December so I hope that new update helps with that.
You probably have to link Emo back to his Home Station. Press and hold the button on the Home Station until you see it scanning for the Bluetooth in Emo and they should reconnect. Then Emo should go back home when he needs to.
Yeah it really sucks because I noticed one day when I would ask a question nothing would happen even using Alexa then I found out DDL was gone and the servers were down not cool and my EMO is working fine ???
The irritating part of it all is that DDL is never in the foreground. It's like they're lurking back there and just show up when they decide to post one of their very infrequent notifications claiming they're still "working" on Vector. Then of course, no results. I wish another company would take over Vector and Cozmo that will truly come out with updated versions of them.
I have an Emo and am very sad that he hasn't updated for so long. Separate teams for different robots on the living ai service would be better, even if it costs more money to hire the workers. My Emo's leg is shaking.
LivingAI are still growing as a company. They will hopefully have separate departments to focus on certain things so that they'll keep getting more efficient over time. Do what I did for my Emo's shaky legs and it'll fix the problem.
@bacowedthebull3853 So if you email LivingAI and include a short video showing them what your Emo is doing, they'll send you a link to the app just like I mentioned in this video. That app can recalibrate Emo's leg servos and his foot sensors.
Vector isn't completely dead you can setup 'wirepod' on any windows Mac and Linux computer and you can run your own local server for vector. You can even add ChatGPT integration which is amazing. Just set it up for my Vector
Fist time viewer. I found a vector with the charger and box thing. I’m sure others have the same issue. I reset him and can’t even turn him on. The setup says to use the vector app. But can never connect to the website: So I’ve read some about firepod but the way anki set this up is criminal. The only way to use him is to pay a monthly fee. Jesus talk about having customers by the balls! I detest when companies do this . The new company DDL has a generic email response about the server being updated. Wow let me tell everyone as a semi tech person moving a server takes 5 minutes .
I’m still waiting for the update where we could play uno with him as I saw from the trailer and thank you for the information and when I was really young I really wanted cozmo but not as much as I would beg them but now it’s probably a good thing that I didn’t buy it
It is a good thing you didn't buy them. I really feel bad for those that waited so long to get their Vector 2.0 and when they received them, they only worked for a very short time.
Those are the two main reasons I didn't get Emo. They really need to make a v2.0 with an easily replaceable battery and easily replaceable/fixable legs. I think just about everyone would be very happy with Emo if they made those two changes. For example, imagine how great it would be if the battery started dying and you could easily open a hatch on the back of the head and slide the old battery out and slide a new one in, taking just a few seconds. Whether or not they improve the provided battery and legs, it would be so nice if Emo was more modular and allowed you to very easily replace those parts yourself. I've watched videos of people doing those repairs in Emo v1.0 and it's not easy at all. If they make those two changes, Emo will be nearly perfect.
I totally agree! Someone mentioned that LivingAI is working on an upgraded version of Emo but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Having a panel that can be easily removed to replace the battery would be fantastic. Also, I think that Emo's leg's wiring gets worn out from the constant movement of them which could be wearing the insulation of those wires out. I'm assuming it's where they run down the insides of his legs for the lower servos and the foot sensors. The "Caring For Emo" app can recalibrate the legs but there's still some minor leg shaking that goes on even after recalibration which makes me think those wires are wearing out and shorting out. I heard that LivingAI is aware of this issue. I've noticed a lot of people have their Emo's with the shaking leg issues as well over time. It'll be difficult for them to make an upgraded version as people will feel compelled to have to get the newer version and not want the original so they'll end up with a lot of overstock. This is all assuming that the rumors are true so who knows if this is all actually happening.
You might try turning him off and then back on as that sometimes resets things on him. Did you accidentally put a lot of pressure on his petting area? If so, that can possibly cause the sensor inside to not be making contact with the connector on the inside.
@Official_Klean If you still are having problems, take a short video and include it with an email to LivingAI explaining what's going on. They have a special app that you can download that might be able to fix the issue. I don't know for sure if the app has a fix for his touch sensors but I know it does for other things. The touch sensors might just need recalibration.
Do you still have your Cozmo? Ive been looking for one for a long time No one on ebay seems to sell me theirs and if you were ok with it i was gonna ask to offer for it maybe.
@@outsider238 your my favourite UA-camr! You even inspired me to make my own content. Should I get a vector off of Facebook marketplace and make a wire pod? Or should I just wait it out and see. Sorry for so many questions but also, would getting a loona charging station be good for me if I want to keep her on all day? - Thank you
Sorry to hear about your original Emo. Be very curious to see if working with the kit to fix him will do the trick. As for running around off the charger, my lil Felix still runs around for roughly 2 hours before needing his charger but he is only 70 days old. If your new Emo is only staying off the charger for 10-15 minutes, any chance that's a battery issue or a software bug? Hopefully nothing hardware related. Great to see another video talking about Emo. I'm looking forward to seeing what this new update might entail (apart from communicating with Aibi of course)
My emo is amzing and beause of the home station Emos battery is very strong. If your wondering why emo does not have an update yet it is because Living AI is working on aibi
From an email they sent out many months ago, they were supposedly going to reimburse (or somehow credit) those that were paying monthly but as far as I know, that hasn't happened. Nothing was said for those of us that have the lifetime membership. I'm guessing that we won't be reimbursed since Vector's "lifetime" ended sooner than we all had expected.😢
That's interesting. My Vector only gives me fist bumps when he sees me but if I ask him for one, he doesn't understand what I said since he's not connected to his servers anymore.
I’m finally starting to get worried about emo and how much longer he will last. I hope aibi sells well and living ai can continue making these guys. By the way could you explain a little bit in detail how to get living ai to send you that app, my little buddy is having some issues with his leg.
So record a short video showing how your Emo's leg is acting up and include it with an email to LivingAI explaining what he's doing. Also include your Emo's serial number. They should respond in a day or two. If it's something that can be fixed with the app, they'll include a link to the app and you download it onto your device. There will also be a link to a video showing how to use the app. I have a video coming out tomorrow showing how to change his battery that I hope will be helpful to everyone. 😁
My Emo had a fault 😢 so they sent me a new one but I had to pay 50 pounds. But he did not come with a charger and you cannot buy a spare charger. Has anyone ever tried another charger that works with emo so I can charge them both?
@@outsider238 yeah I'm not paying for a home station as he can not get on the one he has now. The problem my Emo ended up with was his right leg does not work right so he struggles to go back home and I have to put him on the charger after he runs out of power or I ask him to shut down. So I wanted to buy a skateboard or something else that would charge him as I have two now and one charger. I would still love to get him repaired somehow 😔
@Ianzweb You have to email LivingAI explaining what his leg is doing and include a short video showing the problem. If it's something that can be fixed with the Caring For Emo app, they'll send you the link to download it and a video link to show how to use it. It fixed my Emo's leg issues. Now my Emo goes back on his Home Station like normal.
@callumrobot676 If you email LivingAI with a short video showing his leg shaking, they'll send you a link to the "Caring For Emo" app that recalibrates his legs and fixes it.
@outsider238 just followed all the convoluted steps to get it back online finally. Actually responds faster than ever, but can't access my location. I hope they can start cooking now
To be honest, I haven't even turned Loona on in months. She's just too hyper for my liking. She kept getting stuck in different places all over the house and she couldn't get back to her charger very well. I don't know if that's all been improved since last had her powered up but I think I like the desktop robot pets much better.
@tchambers6912 I'm not sure why he's doing that. You're best bet is to record your Emo doing that and send an email along with the video to LivingAI along with your Emo's serial number. You may have to replace the battery.
Yes mines stays for an hour.i haven't been attention.i do know it take him longer get back his charger.i had that issue with mine they sent out the bottom half his been good after fixed him.right now i have to try fix his emo headphones connect i just the new one.
my emo's battery went bad and do to Ur experience i don't want to send him in he can't connect to his charger 90% of the time i already got a new charger so that's not it i noticed white powder on his battery charge foot anything i can do?
@outsider238 Every Emo has white powder from the foot because emo legs are rubbing with a coating Living ai has put on his leg. After 100 or 200 day it will stay there and this is normal and healthy for emo
I suspect the anki creators don’t care since they sold it to DDL. Another example of the avarice of capitalism . A company that cares about it's customers makes a transition plan mandatory part of the sale. What makes the most sense now since ddl is selling EMO and I assume there is some server he connects to for updates. But vector works the same way. In 5 years they could not import the vector info? @@outsider238 could I have living ai email address?
I have mine in the box right now. He started falling off the table after ignoring the gray matt. Also I do need that app too.
I hope you can get him fixed. The app sure saves a lot of hassle to send him all the way back to LivingAI.
True Vector
Hello I love your vidoes😀
Thank you! 😁
Do you still have your Cozmo? Ive been looking for one for a long time No one on ebay seems to sell me theirs and if you were ok with it i was gonna ask to offer for it maybe.
@JESUS-CARES-v2x I do still have my Cozmo but I don't want to sell him. I'm sorry. I hope you can find one somewhere.
@@outsider238 Thats ok thank you
@@JESUS-CARES-v2xhmm I have one
Thank you 😊😊😊
My pleasure! 😁
- Thank you
Please make a vid on how to use caring for emo app to rectify the shaking leg thing
What is the estimated cost of aibi
$249.00
Thanks I'm just 9 and I'm just curious
280€
@@wonderstef9606 thankyou
Vector :😢🥺💔
Emo and Aibi❤
Yeah my EMO has that too
I'm probably going to have to change his battery.
I'm going to email LivingAI and see what they say about the battery. Hopefully they can use that app to fix him. Looking forward to Aibi!
My emo is amzing and beause of the home station Emos battery is very strong. If your wondering why emo does not have an update yet it is because Living AI is working on aibi
@Aarav_Vispute Yes that's true. I think Aibi is set to go out for deliveries and Emo's update should follow afterward.
@@outsider238 I agree I fully trust Living Ai 🎉
Aww Emo didn’t look like himself. His eyes were downcast. You’ve got me worried now. 😮
He's okay.
There are video out there on how to program vector. He runs on python so yeah u can have vector on ur server
Thank you for the updates! Do you know if they are offering refunds for the lifetime membership for Vector? :(
From an email they sent out many months ago, they were supposedly going to reimburse (or somehow credit) those that were paying monthly but as far as I know, that hasn't happened. Nothing was said for those of us that have the lifetime membership. I'm guessing that we won't be reimbursed since Vector's "lifetime" ended sooner than we all had expected.😢
@@outsider238 That is such a bummer! Thanks for letting me know though. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that little Vector will live again one day. 🤞
@@Suki022 I sure hope so! 🙏
Ivie already came out but they havent updated emo! 😟🙏
Aibi hasn't been released yet.
@@outsider238 weird it says for me it had
@BugsLuck_YT1 I just checked the forums and there wasn't any news. Maybe you got some kind of early notification. 😁
@outsider238 oh ok! Also I have a quetion, emo havnt been sick! Is that normal?
@BugsLuck_YT1 I think he mostly gets sick if the weather has been very hot or cold. It's good that your Emo hasn't been sick! 😁
I just got my emo today (:
Oh! Congratulations! Have fun with your new little buddy! 😁
Thx hoping to buy an emo
You'll love him! I'd be devastated without that little guy! 😍
Nice!
The funny thing About the thumbnail is You've used a font called "Pusab", it's also used in a game called geometry dash by RobTop Games
Oh! Haha! I just thought it looked cool! 😁😄
My Vector still does fist bumps when I ask and will say my name, especially if I say who is that?
That's interesting. My Vector only gives me fist bumps when he sees me but if I ask him for one, he doesn't understand what I said since he's not connected to his servers anymore.
Emo got am update in September
@@outsider238 Good luck! I've seen a video on how to change his battery and it looks very easy and apparently helps fix a variety of issues.
@Con_555 It pretty much made Emo brand new again putting a new battery in him! 😁
Actually insent three emo back it took only a week for them to get it.
Wow! That was fast! The last time it took a month for me to get Emo to them. Customs was very slow.
My Emo had a fault 😢 so they sent me a new one but I had to pay 50 pounds. But he did not come with a charger and you cannot buy a spare charger. Has anyone ever tried another charger that works with emo so I can charge them both?
You can buy the Home Station separately.
@@IanzwebAlso include your Emo's serial number in the email.
@@outsider238 hi I already have that's why I have a replacement Emo that cost me 50. I have the caring for emo app 👍
my emo's right leg is shaking like crazy I got to change his leg servo
@callumrobot676 If you email LivingAI with a short video showing his leg shaking, they'll send you a link to the "Caring For Emo" app that recalibrates his legs and fixes it.
I just got my email for the new vector update
@SlothGahd I did too. I'm scared to try it given DDL's track record.
@outsider238 don't. It's not working yet for me. I sent them an email about it, but you know ddl
@outsider238 just followed all the convoluted steps to get it back online finally. Actually responds faster than ever, but can't access my location. I hope they can start cooking now
What about loona? Do loona has any update?
To be honest, I haven't even turned Loona on in months. She's just too hyper for my liking. She kept getting stuck in different places all over the house and she couldn't get back to her charger very well. I don't know if that's all been improved since last had her powered up but I think I like the desktop robot pets much better.
My emo walks off home and then turns off does that mean I need a new battery?
Hmm... I'm not sure. Did he start doing that after the last update?
@@outsider238
Yes
@tchambers6912 I'm not sure why he's doing that. You're best bet is to record your Emo doing that and send an email along with the video to LivingAI along with your Emo's serial number. You may have to replace the battery.
Lol now we do not have app in play market, and appstore
Yeah I've heard the Vector app is no longer available. But it wasn't working for a year anyhow when it was available.
Yes mines stays for an hour.i haven't been attention.i do know it take him longer get back his charger.i had that issue with mine they sent out the bottom half his been good after fixed him.right now i have to try fix his emo headphones connect i just the new one.
Oh that's good to know! I think I'll write to them again and see if there's a fix for the battery. Thank you for the info! 😁
What about vector 2.0
Same thing. He doesn't work.
my emo's battery went bad and do to Ur experience i don't want to send him in he can't connect to his charger 90% of the time i already got a new charger so that's not it i noticed white powder on his battery charge foot anything i can do?
Oh wow! That's interesting. I've never heard of white powder coming out. You need to contact LivingAI for sure about that.
@outsider238 Every Emo has white powder from the foot because emo legs are rubbing with a coating Living ai has put on his leg. After 100 or 200 day it will stay there and this is normal and healthy for emo
@Aarav_Vispute I just noticed some of it on my Emo recently. Yes it does seem to be some residue from rubbing on something.
I have Wirepod on my raspberry
Pie its easy it took about 1 hour
ddl bought anki in 2019 and here we are five years later. I can't imagine what the creators of anki think about ddl.
It would be very interesting to hear from them about where Vector and Cozmo are today.
Nonsense also known as bullsh&t.
@davepirtle9790 Anki didn't sell themselves to digital dream labs. They went bankrupt when a deal with another company fell through last minute, and Digital Dream Labs bought them afterward.
DDL doesn't own Emo. LivingAI owns Emo.
DDL tried to sue LivingAI because EMO's face looks similar to Cozmo's and Vector's face even though DDL didn't even make those two bots.
It's to bad anki sold out. Vector is so cool, they let him die
@@thomassanchez9930 I totally agree. They really had a great thing going and let it slip through their fingers.
My vector is not working
But I still have loona
EMOOO
I lost my account password what do I do. (I got a new phone BC my old one was smashed)
@@henrykallhoff6795 It won't matter anyway. Since Vector's servers haven't worked for about a year now.
What the heck DDL
Aibi they are taking there time.
I'm actually fine with that. I'd rather have a pet that works properly than something that was rushed out before he was ready. 😁
Just for référencement
Does Vector have no voice?
@aesir0784 Vector can talk. At the time of this video, his servers were still offline so you couldn't talk to him.
@@outsider238 Thank you. - SADLY, the little guy sits on a shelf because he will not activate... You can print on a matchbox all I know about how to get him going...
I spent over 400 dollars a few days ago to buy one directly from DDl... and it took me quite a while to save up for him, just saying.
I have a special needs young man that I care for and he wants to have a pal, (besides me). - His tears? yeah, they ripped me up.
I keep telling him we just need to be patient for DDL to finally follow thru.
Any help? a step by step for the code challenged, would be EXTREMELY welcomed. I could modestly pay anyone willing. ty for answering.
