I just got my buddistick not that long ago as well and have an 891 manpack setup similar to yours, a la The Tech Prepper. Something you may or may not be interested in; the whole buddistick PRO Deluxe setup will fit inside a Maxpedition 12x5 water bottle pouch. You'll also have room for your Rig Expert stick in the outer pocket. Better way to transport the antenna system IMO, especially if you like to MOLLE all the things like I do.
I'm hoping to get into SOTA this year. I'm still learning and would appreciate if SOTA videos took more time explaining what everything is and how it worked. I'm sure most people watching SOTA videos are people trying to understand
Good video. Very similar to the Wolf River Coil that I use, both very good antennas but I am very short so I went with the Wolf River Coil. 73 from Texas KV5P
Nice videos man. Are you still in the hobby? I have a buddistick (original) from back in 2014 that still works well (this was pre-versatee). I run mine with my FT-857D. Subbed, would like to see more content from you. I'm particularly interested in the 3D printing stuff ~Jeremy KF4CHW
Highly suggest it. Don’t make it out to be the scary boogie man. Just do it. I took mine online and it was very straight forward. Study some and take the practice tests then take it. With being able to do it online they do them at all times of day and there’s no driving all the way there just to fail. Worse case scenario you fail and have to get back online and try again. The longer you wait the more it builds up to be the big cumbersome task.
Good video. Can’t wait to see your follow up. This antenna may be my next purchase for SOTA. Thanks for making these videos.
Hey Brad that Antenna looks pretty cool on that Tripod. Hope this Thing will satisfy your HAM Radio needs outdoors...temporarily 💯👍

Yeah I mainly went with the buddies tick for the sleeker more compact design and the all in one tripod. I really liked to fit and form of it
New subscriber.. enjoying the videos keep up the grind. Looking forward to the follow up
