Very well done video, thank you.
I have Buddistick Pro. Agree with your point about the brass nipple smoothing out over time. I have tapped it lightly to re-flare the nipple to make solid contact with the coil taps.
I also agree with POTA activations in city parks and having a smaller footprint antenna. I like my Buddistick Pro for these parks.
In more rural parks, I sometimes use my Wolf River Coil vertical or an EFHW wire.
I’ll study the online documentation, as I’m considering to purchase the Buddipole package. -KD2ZZA

Nice rundown of the antenna Jeramy. I built the original Buddipole years ago out of PVC and homebrew coils and liked it so much purchased the antenna when it was available commercially as it was a bit more robust. The antenna performs very well and the mechanics of the antenna have been improved immensely since my purchase over 20 years ago. The little push on clips on my feedline wore out and have been replaced by alligator clips. I usually end up using 2 CHA-17 whips when in dipole configuration, the coils are a bit touchy and hard to manipulate in the cold. Great advice on using horizontal polarization especially in Alaska!

    Nice video. Very detailed.
I’ve had one 14:52 since they first came out as a commercial product. More than 20 years now.
I upgraded it over the years with the long mast and long whips rotating arm kit, extra arms in both lengths and the switched ballun.
Still love it. Have made amazing contacts with it.
Buddipole stuff is NOT cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
Got their Buddihex for Field Day last year. Another fantastic product.

Nice description of the system. I've been using Buddipole for over 10 years and love it. Started with the basic Buddipole and now up to the the Buddihex for less than 20m and Buddipole long for greater than 20m. Thank you for your long whip measurements, but no idea what they mean. I've got the whip lengths, but no idea what Red on Blue, or Black on Red mean. I have the old coils, so perhaps there are other markings on the new coil. Otherwise great video

Thanks Paul I appreciate that! There’s many antennas out there to buy and to make. The biggest thing is what style of activations will you do? From the truck, picnic table, hiking etc. Figure out what bands you would like to use and build from that. There are many antennas out there but they really taylor to different situations. Keep that in mind and it should make the process of choosing a antenna little easier. Let me know if I can help in anyway! Thanks for watching, 73
