No kidding. He's perfect for movie specials and I think that being overarching, doing something at end credits or one scene foreshadowing future events would be the perfect way for him to appear in episodes instead of fully in the plots.
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 I mean you’re not wrong, sailor John is a human, and sentient machines are basically powerless compared to what a human can do.
I don't mind this episode actually (and it is another favorite S17 episode of mine). Though while it is surreal to see Diesel 10 make an appearance in an episode outside the movies, this is where things took a nosedive to which he didn't appear afterwards due to Mattel's belief that he is much too scary, but like every corporation company should know that villains are meant to be scary right? They never had an issue w/ Sailor John when Lost Treasure came about 2 years later! And what's worse, when he was brought into the Thomas Creator Collective, he was in his evil persona, but then after Races on the Rails, they had the nerve to suddenly make him a nice guy while Diesel becomes the main villain (which bafflingly stales in contrast between that and his portrayal in CGI). I feel the role should've gone to Diesel 10 to try and kill off steam from Sodor and Diesel be the one banished from the Dieselworks through a redemption arc (oh and Lady was added in Brother Bother in the Knapford scene despite one of Mattel's executives not liking Magic Railroad). Also, I like the friendship between Sidney and Percy cause the latter is the one of the few engines that understands him.
I agree with you on that corporation companies should know that villains are meant to be scary when creating them. I like Diesel's role in Thomas Creator Collective, especially his dark version of Full of Surprises and I hate that Diesel 10 redeems in it as well. If only they kept him evil in the rest of Thomas Creator Collective, never banished from the Dieselworks and perhaps continue sharing the same plans as Diesel as a partnership. @@dylanlyles9453 So you didn't like Diesel 10's portrayal after banished from the Dieselworks but I don't mind Diesel's portrayal in TCC because his plans of getting diesels to replace steam by causing accidents with the trunks sounds like a genius one with his scheming, manipulative side on full display with pulling the strings from the shadows as well as the dark version of Full of Surprises which sounds great to me. That would've been nice to see that in the official show for fun though toned down a bit and not over the top.

Why Mattel couldn't make Diesel 10 appearance in episode "What Rebecca Does" and in all seasons at all. Also, thanks for this video! Someone finally made a video about CGI D10 and now I can watch interesting video.
And before you suggest it, no, it’s unlikely that they thought of having Diesel 10 appear in What Rebecca Does, they just used his claw for that crazy dream. It really isn’t that deep everyone.
This episode is like making Big Jack Horner from "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" overly manchildish and having him redeem himself at the last second out of nowhere, it's just completely out-of-character and makes me want to *bleed to death.* I mean, there's character assassination in Thomas, and then there's what happened to the diesel with the giant claw, it's infuriating. And to think I once *LIKED* this episode! Here, they should've just had Diesel 10 try to destroy all the buffers on the Island to make all the steam engines' Christmas a misery for them like in the original TATMR script or something, because THAT would've at least been better than the piece of sh*t we got!
i have a theory: diesel 10's driver in tatmr is pt boomer, and after tatmr boomer was fired and replaced with another driver which tought D10 to be nicer, and in dotd boomer was rehired but D10 was watered down (justification: no normal driver would threaten other engines exept boomer, in cae D10 doesn't threaten engines with his claw cuz boomer isn't his driver, in dotd D10 threatens other engines again cuz boomer is back + in cae, pinchy's movements are more eratic than in tatmer and dotd)
The idea of P.T. Boomer being Diesel 10's driver/owner should have been a thing! But Magic Railroad isn't really canon to the model series and CGI series.
What really bothers me about this episode is that after this, Diesel 10 is never seen or heard from again. I don't know if it's because Mattel thought he was too scary for the target audience or they just thought he wasn't that marketable. Either way, it's pretty disappointing.
It is really weird how he just..disappeared. But what’s even weirder is that they still made merchandise of him after this episode so, why bother getting rid of him if you wanna make more toys of him? weird
You know who they really should introduce in Thomas that could be an even greater threat than Diesel 10? A BR Class 55 Deltic. My, those diesels are imposing yet elegant looking at the same time. Flying Scotsman as a diesel pretty much. I could totally see a Deltic be like Diesel 10’s evil master much like Palpatine. Even scarier, this Deltic would perform witchcraft on steam engines that would turn them into diesels, all by using his diesel fumes with incense.
If we’re going to be continuing this worst character episodes, I pick Toad and the Whale for the worst Oliver appearance. I mean, I understand why they gave TOAD of all characters a good number of lead roles, and Oliver got jack squat
I kinda like this episode but i get why people don't like this as a diesel 10 appearance. I wish he was more of a regular antagonist in the story along with his own hench men or something.

S17 is the good CGI season for me. Not a single bad episode to be made or ones that I never really cared for or ones that were decent that never had me screaming at my screen in frustration. Im surprised that Sidney had survived the fire at the Dieselworks in "Day of the diesels" despite being stuck on a hoist for 2 years. I know that tons of people are confirming this is what caused Sidney to have amnesia. "Sidney sings" was Sidney returning Percy's favor. If Mattel found Diesel 10 too threatening then why did he still get toys in later years?
Ask that about the logging locos too. They still appeared in merchandise years after they stopped appearing in the show. Maybe Mattel knew they were familiar with kids and just decided to keep them around for merchandise or something.

Good thing the rewrite by Nino got it right. I view Diesel 10 as a rebel who doesn't take orders from authority figures, even The Fat Controller since he believes that he can do whatever he wants regardless as stated in Magic Railroad and could try to get rid of him just like with Mr. Conductor.
Great choice for the worst Diesel 10 appearance I'm not sure which I think is worse, Calling All Engines or this episode. It's a shame this is how Diesel 10 went out

I’m not sure if Diesel 10 was ever out of character. Some might say he is in “Calling All Engines” but I don’t think so considering he’s still very threatening (I love the growl from Michael Angelis in particular) and the engines are still terrified of him (and they were clearly impressed and astonished at the same time that Thomas got Diesel 10 to help). And while he did get embarrassed at being scolded by Topham in “Day of the Diesels”, he was still very manipulative. And what I like about this episode is that they acknowledge how long Sidney was wheel-less and finally give him his long-awaited wheels. Paxton was also great when he refused to help Diesel 10.
I honestly like how he is in CAE and in the CGI series because it has nothing to do with Magic Railroad. I like how Sir Topham Hatt scolds Diesel 10 and how he feels scared because it shows that Sir Topham Hatt has control over ALL of his engines. No offense, but I find Diesel 10 overrated in TATMR. I don't like the fact that Diesel 10 just has control over himself instead of having a driver. If they didn't cut out P.T. Boomer in the film, they should have made him Diesel 10's owner/driver to make his inclusion more meaningful.
The engines do have ideas of their own to carry out, even with their crews you know, even those who are villains and antagonistic. I also see Diesel 10 as a rebel who answers to no one, not even The Fat Controller since he believes he can do whatever he wants as stated in Magic Railroad. The CGI series should have Diesel 10 with his debut portrayal intact which would've been perfect enough.
The director’s cut of TATMR is also overrated because Boomer makes Diesel 10 a useless villain as well as making the Thomas part of the movie pointless.
@@dylanlyles9453 As well as my point. You do know engines often have their own ideas and desires to do which their crews play along in the background in the show for years. Nothing wrong with that.

And before you suggest it, no, it’s unlikely that they thought of having Diesel 10 appear in What Rebecca Does, they just used his claw for that crazy dream. It really isn’t that deep everyone.
Maybe this could be the original version of Day of the Diesels I think
If Diesel 10 appears in AEG, then they’ll make him like Diesel’s brother or some shit 💀😭
That's still going huh...
@@UPRailRoad-xg8cb What is?
@@CakeKingYT AEG, I haven't kept up.
@@UPRailRoad-xg8cb Oh yeah, same. I know Donald (and hopefully Douglas) is coming, but that’s about it…
I just hope they won’t bring back the narrow gauge engines and make them children again.
2 YEARS?? JUST FOR FRICKIN WHEELS??
This episode is like making Big Jack Horner from "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" overly manchildish and having him redeem himself at the last second out of nowhere, it's just completely out-of-character and makes me want to *bleed to death.* I mean, there's character assassination in Thomas, and then there's what happened to the diesel with the giant claw, it's infuriating. And to think I once *LIKED* this episode!
Here, they should've just had Diesel 10 try to destroy all the buffers on the Island to make all the steam engines' Christmas a misery for them like in the original TATMR script or something, because THAT would've at least been better than the piece of sh*t we got!
i have a theory: diesel 10's driver in tatmr is pt boomer, and after tatmr boomer was fired and replaced with another driver which tought D10 to be nicer, and in dotd boomer was rehired but D10 was watered down
(justification: no normal driver would threaten other engines exept boomer, in cae D10 doesn't threaten engines with his claw cuz boomer isn't his driver, in dotd D10 threatens other engines again cuz boomer is back + in cae, pinchy's movements are more eratic than in tatmer and dotd)
The idea of P.T. Boomer being Diesel 10's driver/owner should have been a thing! But Magic Railroad isn't really canon to the model series and CGI series.
@@dylanlyles9453 well Britt Allcroft says it is canon. Plus the model and CGI series are canonically the same canon.
@@joshuaW5621 You literally said that a million times!
@@dylanlyles9453 I’m sorry buddy. I forgot I mentioned it to you yesterday.
@@joshuaW5621 That's alright. I consider, Magic Railroad, the model series, and the CGI series three separate canons
How diesel 10 stole Christmas is better that this garbage
It's sad that Diesel 10 never had a leading role.
Ik I feel bad for him honestly
What really bothers me about this episode is that after this, Diesel 10 is never seen or heard from again. I don't know if it's because Mattel thought he was too scary for the target audience or they just thought he wasn't that marketable. Either way, it's pretty disappointing.
It is really weird how he just..disappeared. But what’s even weirder is that they still made merchandise of him after this episode so, why bother getting rid of him if you wanna make more toys of him? weird
6:13
WHAT HAPPENEED TO HIS LAUGH!? 😭
3:07 I’m dead🤣🤣
Diesel 10 was a crybaby for the whole episode, but I really liked the chase.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!”
To be honest I think Diesel 10 is so much Handsome In the cgi franchise Better then the model ones ❤❤
I kinda like this episode but i get why people don't like this as a diesel 10 appearance. I wish he was more of a regular antagonist in the story along with his own hench men or something.
Me too.
Still weird how he would appear in CAE, be absent and make another appearance in TGD as a cameo and then in the cgi special MIR but only in the end credits
And then he makes another appearance in DOTD and does what he normally does
What’s stupid asf is how every single time they bring him back for a Thomas Movie and then he remains absent for a like 3-4 seasons like tf, not even making a cameo in any of the Nitrogen episodes from the Miller Era
Similar shit with the Narrow Gauge Engines
They barely have any appearances
Tho don’t get me wrong it was very cool to see them again in BMM and which is prolly the best Thomas movie of all time written by Sharon Miller
Tho I got off the Thomas series a while back and I’m back into videogames retro Nintendo games
Games like
Super Smash Bros 64
Super Smash Bros Melee
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Smash Bros 3DS/WiiU
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Mario Kart Series and Mario series
I will always be a Thomas Fan, that show has a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten
Funnily enough, I one time when I was younger, I dreamed of D10 having a hit Episode
I don't remember what the episode it was called but ye I'm not joking
Do you remember what the plot might have been about?
@@joshuaW5621 Possibly some dumb episode where he is nice and not committing murder like it magic railroad, Then again, my brain didn't know much about Thomas until I started doing deep dives in 2022 or somethin
But seriously, That plot would have been worse that Christmas Decorations
It's like day of the diesel mix with the Grinch
In my opinion Diesel 10 should have only appeard in Thomas And The Magic Railroad and after that never appear again he would be so much memorabele and impactful that way
Though it's good that he appears more after his debut and even in CGI style which he looks good in (regardless of what they did to him). Potential for more you know. If his later appearances got his character right to retain it properly after his debut, especially in CGI then he would've been great.
We'll just need to call Diesel Ten "Twinkletoes", won't we?
@@joshuaW5621And several other engines we could count.
It’s also his best episode by default since it’s the only one he ever appeared in.
Diesel 10 needs more episodes.
2:25 where did that footage come from?
Is it bad for me to say that I think Diesel 10 is a Wasted Villain. Like he had potential in his first Debut in TATMR honestly.
Do one for Diesel himself.
I like The Missing Chiasmas Decorations.
The reason why D10 reappears in CAE will never be solved
If I recall they brought him back because he was popular.
Yo, you’re back
2:25 Where is that footage from? Plz tell me.
I feel like I’m the only one that notice the tally hall reference
Name a bigger downgrade than Diesel 10, I'll wait

11:51 where did this clip came from 🤣
4:21 what is that from
I personally think day of the desiels was Desiel 10s worst appearance because that’s when his wimpy side came out and also that movie sucked
Good thing the rewrite by Nino got it right. I view Diesel 10 as a rebel who doesn't take orders from authority figures, even The Fat Controller since he believes that he can do whatever he wants regardless as stated in Magic Railroad and could try to get rid of him just like with Mr. Conductor.
Bruh what kinda torch is that?
Great choice for the worst Diesel 10 appearance
I'm not sure which I think is worse, Calling All Engines or this episode. It's a shame this is how Diesel 10 went out
I honestly wish that D10’s only appearance were TATMR and CAE
Well, another appearance had to be made to get Diesel 10 back to his evil proper character as the last one on a perfect one, even in CGI. If only DOTD has it.

In My Opinion I Don’t Really Think The Missing Christmas is The Worst Diesel 10’s Appearance I was Very Good Decent Episode From Season 17 I really like the idea of making Diesel 10 as The Grinch but I wish they Make The Missing Christmas a Part 2 Episode or Full Christmas Movie Special

Do the worst Thomas episode yet wonky whistle not other episodes that are the worst only one wonky whistle
Fiery flynn the worst flynn episode
Serves you right
Toph Beifong and Diesel 10 would be friends since they like to call ppl "Twinkletoes"
Pity that Toph is a hero and Diesel 10 is a villain so even with Twinkletoes, would never be friends.
Di
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 MY point still stands
The director’s cut of TATMR is also overrated because Boomer makes Diesel 10 a useless villain as well as making the Thomas part of the movie pointless.
@@joshuaW5621 "To destroy magic is a goal only one can fail, but if they work together, we know they can discover the secret." Darth Sidious
@@dylanlyles9453 As well as my point. You do know engines often have their own ideas and desires to do which their crews play along in the background in the show for years. Nothing wrong with that.
