I get apricots and maybe plum as it sweetens going into the finish.

I got this as a Christmas gift, and it's my favorite bourbon I've had in a while. I'd love to find more whiskeys in this genre, it's delicious
I find myself recommending this one to people a lot
I didn't smell fruit either but adding an ice cube changed what did smell. Definitely smell the wood and spice.
Floral sweetness on the nose. Light yet creamy mouthful (lol) with apricot/prune vibe followed by some some spice on the long finish. Potency more on the nose than mouth. Overall solid bourbon with a good price point.

I get banana bread with almonds in the noise. On the palate I get sweet dark cherries. 🤷🏽♂️ that’s what I pick up. Great bourbon to drink neat for sure.
i agree with most of what you say. Ofcourse taste differs with everyone but you talked about most points very clearly. I am not a fan of the regular Four Roses or this one really (wouldn't spit in it if someone gave me a glass ;) ), but i do love the single barrel version. Especially when i get in on sale the value is just so great. Continue your great work my friend.

I bought one after watching this review and it's really smooth, i'm a newb when it comes to whiskey/bourbons mostly drunk jameson/chivas/Jim Beam throughout my life. But this might be the best i've tasted so far. But am i the only one getting a hint of banana in the after taste? i am not used to all the smells and tastes but that's what it reminds of.

I get cherries, cinnamon bears, oak, and sweet corn notes. Very complex and a great whiskey for its price!

@@TheWhiskeyDictionary yeah I generally find bourbon to be too harsh either in the wood / barrel spice or the spikiness of it but this one is really smooth and mild
I do get candied Cherries, in the nose behind the corn and caramel. like the ones my Mom put into her fruitcake. and I think I get copper penny is the taste, not sure about that something metallic though, good review keep it up!
I like this one and think it's a great value bourbon. I suppose one of it's major competitors is Buffalo Trace which I like but I think this is the better of the two. A pleasant, easy going bourbon. Cheers

I definitely get fruit notes from the small batch. Also some good rye spice which I believe hovers close to 20%
I’ve tried angels envy, crown, jack, beam, wild turkey, dickel, makers mark, a lot. But this whiskey for me is unbeatable. It’s nice and simple and easy to drink.
I'm still a big fan of it even all these years later
I find the fruit/floral notes seem to come through once the bottle has been open for a while and keeps getting better as the level drops. Definitely one the best bourbons in the $35 range.
I'd rate your channel name at 100/100.
Nice Review. I just had some the other day. At first taste I though it was a bit bitter and not sweet enough. After a few sips I started enjoying it more.

+James Blackwell it's an extremely small release and I would have to fly to Kentucky in order to get my hands on it I've already reached out and talked to somebody at Woodford about it there's really nothing that they can do to get me a bottle so unfortunately probably not
Bought this one because Total Wine did not have Buffalo Trace and have to say after only having Jim Beam and Jack Daniels before today I now know there is much more to bourbon.

Spend 4 dollars more and get single barrell and invest in 3 ice cubes also. It's incredible wet bourbon. I currently am feeling the vibes from it and it's worth getting rid of the sweetness.

Nice review. I wish I could say that I could add more to it but I don't get much more than you did. It's smooth and easy drinking. I wouldn't turn this down, but I'm not sure I would buy it again (or at least not in a while). I think its in the middle between "try it" and "buy it". Have you done much of the Buffalo Trace line? It may be my favorite distillery. Great line of very good bourbons.
I've done a few of their bourbons so far. Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare. I'm definitely eager to do some more of their whiskey on this channel though. They've got A LOT of good stuff.

Don't agree. I found Four Roses Small Batch to have a rather weak nose, not a very strong front end and a weak finish. Wild Turkey 101 was, for me, far more pleasing, much more distinctive in its nose and front end, and nice long finish.

After letting the bourbon coat my tongue and taking in a breathe from the mouth I get a big hit of cherry
I got cherries and like a wet wood smell. I’m not really knowledgeable on the notes but if creamy means it feels like it coats your mouth. I’d say creamy. Great finish
Oh yeah.... I'm drinking this right now and wasn't really feeling the fruit like others described. But based on your comment, I let my last sip linger a bit, then after swallowing took a deep breath through my mouth... and bang- the taste of dark cherries just exploded on my palate.... very nice!
