I think you're right about the success of beatmania in Japan being shown by its 16 volumes. Or else Konami would've stopped releasing beatmania in general instead of just stopping in america with its one release that lacked decent sales due to awesome non-popular music. Fortunately they managed to get enough US controllers out there with good buttons. I never got the chance to try the Japanese version of the bundled controller but i keep hearing that the buttons on the US version are way better
Man, this video makes me wanna revive my PS2 and go out and get a IIDX controller. Unfortunately that's too much trouble so I'll stick to Rock Band and Guitar Hero =\
@asianferret its not easyer, in dj hero you have to concentrate on a lot more, the scrach table and the cross fader, etc and a lot of seperate things that needs to be done with these, just look at the video of dj hero with groundhog on expert
Stepmania solo has 6 keys. Plus it's a hand/finger rhythm game. It is relatively similar to Beatmania comparative to the majority of video games these days. Plus, you could raise the judging to make the timing more difficult to emulate Beatmania's judgment.
this, so much. my dad got me bmUS back when i was on my stepmania craze (which i was really good at) and i was failing songs left and right, im like WTF is this shit? really, all it takes is some practice. although to be fair, i'm too poor for an actual controller, so i'll probably start failing songs left and right again given an actual turntable, lmao
@ru2213y just because it has 16 versions does not make it good, it might just mean that all the older versions were simply crap, so they continuously had to change it. But I dont really care about this argument anymore I am tired of trolling, lets just say both is good.
No he hates it because it seems like EVERYONE thinks that you have to memorize all of the notes in a song to play a music game well, when in fact rarely does anyone memorize a song. It take a lot more time and effort to memorize a song then learning how to read the notes in a game. Yes, IIDX is very difficult to master. No, no one who is good memorizes the notes to all of the songs.
@omlas6 Judging from your comments, you sound like a DJ Hero fanboy. DJ Hero was a gimmick. Activision was just trying to squeeze the last bit of milk out of Guitar Hero. Beatmania has over 16 different versions. How many DJ Heros? 2 (I think). My only complaint is the US turntable for Beatmania is very weak.
It's not supposed to be similar to a DJ turntable. How is guitar hero's guitar supposed to be similar to a guitar? The only qualities a guitar hero guitar shares with an actual guitar, is the shape.
This is amazing!!!
excellent, thanks!
1:15 wow.
Beautiful song too.
Awesum.
This chart is so much fun.
thats simply amazing...xD

Sweet. Thank you kindly xD
I noticed that most of old players use kind of freeform style?

Sheeet...I think he broke My finger. OnePeace.

My brain doesnt translate what my eyes see nearly fast enough for my fingers to move even a quarter of that speed.

Okay thanks, fixed the info.
holy crap
and people say i have too much time on my hands
how do u get this on the comp?
I agree with samson. I play a game called Stepmania, similar to both IIDX and Pop'N. Hand-rhythm games are fun :]
Which IIDX game is this from? I'm digging this song. Its to be expected though cuz pretty much all the songs in the beatmania series are awesome.
Man, this video makes me wanna revive my PS2 and go out and get a IIDX controller. Unfortunately that's too much trouble so I'll stick to Rock Band and Guitar Hero =\
no i think he has it on mirror or something i can't read it but it scrambles up the notes
@asianferret its not easyer, in dj hero you have to concentrate on a lot more, the scrach table and the cross fader, etc and a lot of seperate things that needs to be done with these, just look at the video of dj hero with groundhog on expert
Quasar by Outphase
he played on a Happy Sky AC machine.
It's done by DJ Hell.
This is the arcade version.
That they are

I think I saw lightning coming out of his hands O_o
Rhythm games are the shietttt!!!!
I got IIDX vids of me playing.. not my greatest though.. I still prefer the arcade controller over my ASC
Someone's had a little too much time on their hands!
Too Many Flashing Lights... O.e"
your longest streak was like 620
wow man
They should put beatmania in place of typing curriculum. It's like...almost the same anyway!....
Maybe none of you guys noticed, but this play was on random.

I really hope you understand who the -musician- DJ Hell is.
Looks like something you would have to memorize over a long time playing rather than actually beating it the first time through :-/
is this REALTIME?

lol
i play step but i can only get quasar in C =S
you cant compare them, thats like comparing sex and sex.get it.lol

@Korii08 weeaboo
@ru2213y just because your a beatmania fanboy does not mean you have to be an idiot, just accept the common sense

At least his hands are more skillful then yours. :P
It's not supposed to be similar to a DJ turntable. How is guitar hero's guitar supposed to be similar to a guitar? The only qualities a guitar hero guitar shares with an actual guitar, is the shape.
the original version is from stepmania ,eggman made it
bruh, quasar came out from IIDX first, and the composer is OutPhase.
I no this is a fake!
yeah but imo not guitar hero or any of that type of stuff
only iidx, ddr, itg, and stepmania are good. and pop
dude....jealous eh? fake? nice little joke u have there.
Quasar is a really bad song
It's stepmania chart sucks too
this is cheap they dont even need to use the dj scrach,, DJ hero is much better
What a remarkable waste of skill.....
