@@fynnthefox9078 We might need to check out the older Batman sometime. I've seen it as a child but don't remember anything, and I don't think Jane has seen it. Jack Nicholson does look closest to the comic Joker!
To be fair, we haven't seen this Joker against a batman, like we got to see in The Dark Knight. So for me it's hard to really judge based off of only a backstory.
Heath definitely brought the dark side of the Joker to life, he personified Joker, it was a masterpiece of a performance. Joaquin did amazing portraying the mentally ill character, both are incredible but I'd put Heath's Joker at the top, followed closely by Joaquin's. Jack Nicholson has a lot of fans but I just see it more as a goofy/silly character. Heath's Joker showed how smart he really was, he was 2 or 3 steps ahead of Batman all the time
Todd Phillips took some liberties when making this movie. In this "universe" Joker is much older than Bruce Wayne, Thomas Wayne is an a-hole, even Alfred wasn't as nice as in the comics. I looked it up and Joker didn't kill the neighbor, Sophie, so that makes sense n it's a relief. I believe Joker is the only character who has seen 2 different actors win Oscars for it, both Heath n Joaquin were phenomenal. Joker 2 is a musical n knowing that Joaquin doesn't like making sequels it kinda makes sense that it was like it was, pretty bad, putting it nicely. In another universe i can totally see Lady Gaga playing Harlequin phenomenally. Great reaction guys
The scene in Dark Knight where Joker yells at his captive to "look at me" is what sold me on Heath Ledger's Joker. But I really love Joaquin's acting here as well!
I like your comments during the movie, I would recommend reacting to some of Quentin Tarantino's movies. Pulp fiction is one of my favorites, good luck with your channel!
Tyvm! Jane hasn't seen Pulp fiction so this is def one we will be reacting to. Also we both haven't seen Reservoir Dogs. Inglorious Basterds is our favorite of the ones we've seen!
I highly recommend Superman & Lois it's fantastic. Do not react to Man of Steel it's a terrible representation of Superman. It's so Anti-Superman it shouldn't even be considered a Superman film. Zack Snyder should've never gotten involved with Batman, Superman, or any other big DC hero. He is literally the real life Manchester Black. As a DC fan I can't recommend the DCEU it's terrible. I do however recommend The Batman and The Dark Knight Trilogy. The DC Animated Universe is also worth the watch.
@@callmejacob3234 we love the dark knight trilogy and the new batman movie w pattinson. But we havent watched a lot of the other DC stuff besides the first superman w Cavil
This film takes place in the early 80s. Reagan cut a lot of programs to help the mentally ill and there was a huge garbage strike in most cities in the country
I think the state that Gotham is in plays a pretty big part of this story, but yes I do see your point. Still it's fund to compare sometimes! Thanks for commenting!
@@OfficialDNJmoviehouseOh definitely. Gotham is the prime motivator for Arthur. The state it's in as well as it being 1981 when the mental health system wasn't the best.
@@fynnthefox9078 Would he have turned into Joker if it took place in the present? who knows but I think he would've had a better chance of staying Arthur.
Joaquin Phoenix killed it, but Heath Ledger remains our favorite Joker. Who's yours?
For me, it's Jack Nicholson. He perfectly captures the spirit of the Joker from the comics.

tyvm! Glad to know he didn't kill Sophie. We were looking forward to Joker 2 but all the talk about it kinda put it on the back burner.
Arthur told Murray a joke that blew his mind. I wonder what went through his head after hearing that?
😄 I heard this in Morgan Freeman's voice. (Shawshank vibes)
Just subscribed! I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers. I really enjoyed the reaction! 😁

Joaquin phoenix is arguably one of the best actors alive. His performance was amazing. Him and daniel day lewis are ACTORS.
We def need to watch more of his stuff, we've heard praise of his other movies but haven't seen him since Gladiator for Jane, and Signs for me!
Joker 1 is a great film joker 2 is very bad 😅
Yea that's what we're hearing, pretty bummed out.
45:59 was that a Parkzer reference?
I'm not aware of what that is sorry!
"Pseudobulbar affect" is the name of the condition/family of conditions that result in inappropriate laughter
Best film
Oh and my favorite is joaquin. Heath ledger was solid, his makeup elevated his performance 👍

Gotcha, that makes sense. Really diggin the gritty vibe of the city.
Thing is the director is only really using Joker as a vehicle to make a point. Not really a story about the Batman / Joker universe

The whole movie was in his head. He never left the mental institution until the end.
That's an interesting theory! But based on the Joker 2 trailer (haven't seen the movie yet, no spoilers) I'm not entirely sure that it holds up?
Wrong
You guys already seen this. Gotta pretend better please
We have both never seen Joker :( . Sorry you feel that way.
thats alot of work to pretend you have never seen a movie to be fair lol i think theyre being genuine
You're yapping. It's obvious they never saw it.
