Every time I see Ricky Williams highlights it breaks my heart. If he had played 15 seasons and gave it his all, we'd be calling him the best RB ever. I understand who he is. I have anxiety. I'm 420. I so relate to him as a human being and I wish him nothing but the best for him on his personal journey. I'd love to buy the guy a beer and hear his stories. We'd likely be friends. But, as a football fan, I can't help but feel that he had a physical gift given to him that got wasted. Again... totally as a football fan. As just a dude, more power to him.

As a dolphin fan I wasn’t even mad at him for retiring they ran him more in those 3 years than any other running back in history at that time and we didn’t know as much as we do now about concussions and I’m sure he played with some weed was probably his only way to deal with the pain.

The 2003 team was the Vegas favorite to win the SB. Sports Illustrated also predicted they’d win it. They had the talent but Fiedler was just OK and they fell apart in December. I hope they get back to being that team that brought me so much joy at some point while I can still really enjoy it.

I told myself no this is Ricky Williams. So I sat down and started talking to him. An hour later after talking to him about traveling to India, Jim Brown and enjoying the vibes of the day he really is a down to Earth good dude

I remember a partner of mine played strong safety with the Ravens and I asked him who was the toughest running back he ever played against and he named Ricky Williams and that was it, and he meant it when he said it.
Watched him all thru college and he injured many players that were trying to tackle him. You know they hated seeing 34 coming their way in the 4th qtr.
The 1972 Dolphins had my favorite running backs Csonka. Kick and Morris. They were tough, shifty and fast. Then came Ricky Williams who ran like all three of them put together. Yes I was mad at him when he quit like he did but I was much younger then. Now at age 61 I can look back and admire him for the outstanding player he was and for staying true to himself when it wasn't popular or easy.

The only highlights missing are Ricky absolutely torching the Detroit Lions from September 2002. I was there and he busted like a forty yard run first carry of the game. Yeesh. Ricky was unreal.
Guys like him and Peterson are a dying breed. Big physical downhill running backs who always fall forward after contact. When you saw Ricky with the dreads and visor coming downhill you knew it was going to be like trying to tackle a moving refrigerator.
I was so excited that he would move my team, the Miami Dolphins , into a powerhouse once again. But he is a human being with and the insurmountable pressure placed upon him was not fair. It is okay that that Ricky Williams was done with football. He is an amazing man. PERIOD.

Early 2000 there was a specials team player named Trent Gamble. He played defensive back. Loved him, not sure why he was never given a bigger role. On speciala teams he was great. He also played the nickel coverage really well
RIcky was a phenomenal talent. He had the potential, had he gotten a grip on his personality issues early, to be one of the all-time rushers in the NFL

I am an occasional marijuana smoker where I do it to help me go to bed mostly. I totally understand how smoking helps people with anxiety, pain, and insomnia. I can see how steroids improves your ability and makes you better I guess but personally I don’t see how marijuana does that exact same thing. I live in Las Vegas where it’s legal here and I hope people understand there is so much more to marijuana than getting high and stereotyping people. Guys like him and Peterson are a dying breed. Big physical downhill running backs who always fall forward after contact. When you saw Ricky with the dreads and visor coming downhill you knew it was going to be like trying to tackle a moving refrigerator.
I was so excited that he would move my team, the Miami Dolphins , into a powerhouse once again. But he is a human being with and the insurmountable pressure placed upon him was not fair. It is okay that that Ricky Williams was done with football. He is an amazing man. PERIOD.
