    Great video! I'm almost 65. I had a pharmacy back in 1999 and decided to bring in Pokémon cards from Wizards of the Coast. I wasn't a collector so no story of all the Charizards I have. Anyway, I'm just starting a Pokémon business and love what they've done with the cards over the last 25 years.

    I’m excited to share that I’ve just started my own Pokemon Business , and my first Pokemon case coming out today! I can’t wait video pecking opening and editing that video

    You were one of the first channels I found while I was trying to find the means to sustain what it costs to be involved in this hobby at this point in time. I appreciate the perspective, hearing the journey, what you did to build inventory and relationships, etc. as it is all very helpful advice. While I finish up the last few years of my degree I plan to build capital and inventory to hope for a fraction of a similar situation. Full time school & work isn't easy, but like you've hinted at it's more fulfilling than sitting down and consuming content every night until retirement.

      Yeah it’s disappointing, driving up prices like crazy and buying out all the sets from regular retailers and reselling for significantly above retail price making it very unaffordable for the ever day collector

      People will drop off again. doing this is hard and not everyone can do it. Eventually it will slow down again, stay the course and do what you love.

    • @ThePokeOffice
      @ThePokeOffice  18 днів тому +2

      I’d guess that’s probably true to an extent, but it’s also easy to notice things when you are deep into the hobby.
      I suspect the average Joe on the street still knows next to nothing about how popular Pokemon is right now

    Great video man! Although if you triple your output I’ll have to triple my buying and you already get almost half of the 500 a month I put away for pokemon. Hey Colin, I wanted to clarify my message in the “Experts” video. I highlighted people in the hobby who are viewed as “experts,” but the intent wasn’t to call out content creators. Instead, it was to address how some people (viewers) take their statements out of context, ignoring nuance, and misapplying single sound bites.
    Ive also observed a lot of authority bias recently, so the video was a reminder for people to think critically and do their own research instead of blindly following anyone’s advice.
    Enjoyed the discussion 🤙

    Each person has their own strategy; may it be a master sets, increase sealed collections, increased singles collections, profiting from business/side hustling, and/or expanding more of the Pokémon space. I am for what you have done with your ES booster boxes. As long you made a profit, all is well. A profit is a profit and no one has ever gotten hurt taking a profit. 👍

      @ThePokeOffice  18 днів тому +1

      Lol

    • @GamingLoreLibrary
      @GamingLoreLibrary 16 днів тому

      Simple does not equal easy. CICO is the formula for weight loss but the difficulties arise from the changing of habits and lifestyle. When you’ve lived a certain way for such a long time it can be very difficult to change it. The hardest part is the beginning of the changes and learning how to be disciplined consistently. That’s the hard part. Knowing exercise more and eat less is obvious and it’s ignorant to presume the part people struggle with comes from not understanding exercise more eat less. Everyone over the age of 14 knows that. It’s maintaining change that’s hard.
