Great video! I'm almost 65. I had a pharmacy back in 1999 and decided to bring in Pokémon cards from Wizards of the Coast. I wasn't a collector so no story of all the Charizards I have. Anyway, I'm just starting a Pokémon business and love what they've done with the cards over the last 25 years.
I appreciate your emphasis on understanding the value of hard work and the importance of taking the first step. There are numerous paths to success in business, and nothing in life is easy. I’m excited to share that I’ve just started my own Pokemon Business , and my first Pokemon case coming out today! I can’t wait video pecking opening and editing that video
You were one of the first channels I found while I was trying to find the means to sustain what it costs to be involved in this hobby at this point in time. I appreciate the perspective, hearing the journey, what you did to build inventory and relationships, etc. as it is all very helpful advice. While I finish up the last few years of my degree I plan to build capital and inventory to hope for a fraction of a similar situation. Full time school & work isn't easy, but like you've hinted at it's more fulfilling than sitting down and consuming content every night until retirement.
I am also trying to start my collection/pokemon investing I used to do it as a kid my friend brought me into it. I found your channel out of nowhere. It's the greatest decision ive made so far clicking and subscribing you! Sucks I cant get a wholesale price yet so I gotta start from the bottom. I will get there tho!!!
Dude amazing video and thanks for including me in that list of Poketubers! Looking forward to joining you on another live one of these days! You've were a big inspiration for me to start my channel and this kind of content is gonna help my keep grinding and turn this hobby into a business in 2025
Gotta love it man! Keep going. It's hard sometimes. It actually doesn't get easier from my perspective. But at the end of the day, through all the crap and nonsense, it's very fulfilling and a whole lot of fun too!
Yeah it’s disappointing, driving up prices like crazy and buying out all the sets from regular retailers and reselling for significantly above retail price making it very unaffordable for the ever day collector
I’d guess that’s probably true to an extent, but it’s also easy to notice things when you are deep into the hobby. I suspect the average Joe on the street still knows next to nothing about how popular Pokemon is right now
Great video man! Although if you triple your output I’ll have to triple my buying and you already get almost half of the 500 a month I put away for pokemon. A million in sales for a year seems very doable for you at the pace you’re going! Keep grinding. You have spicy takes, you have numbers and you have a basement…. Canadian pokene??? lol
Hey Colin, I wanted to clarify my message in the “Experts” video. I highlighted people in the hobby who are viewed as “experts,” but the intent wasn’t to call out content creators. Instead, it was to address how some people (viewers) take their statements out of context, ignoring nuance, and misapplying single sound bites. Ive also observed a lot of authority bias recently, so the video was a reminder for people to think critically and do their own research instead of blindly following anyone’s advice. Enjoyed the discussion 🤙
Appreciate the message. I actually thought your video was quite good, so didn’t take any offense. I was more just self deprecating myself as per normal haha
Hard work, dedication, and sprinkle of luck and you get costco col hahaha jk awesome video! I'm very happy I found this community! Around 1 year anniversary for me I think!
Rant away colin! Been loving the content! Related a lot to your thought processes in this video. Friends in the hobby. I have only met 1 person from this hobby irl but some of my best friends are through this hobby
@@ThePokeOffice I think it’ll be worth! Plus after watching pokeNe’s opinion on Japanese boxes I agree people will look for cheaper options to rip the current sets vs paying $200 for a modern english set that came out a couple months ago
Each person has their own strategy; may it be a master sets, increase sealed collections, increased singles collections, profiting from business/side hustling, and/or expanding more of the Pokémon space. I am for what you have done with your ES booster boxes. As long you made a profit, all is well. A profit is a profit and no one has ever gotten hurt taking a profit. 👍

Simple does not equal easy. CICO is the formula for weight loss but the difficulties arise from the changing of habits and lifestyle. When you’ve lived a certain way for such a long time it can be very difficult to change it. The hardest part is the beginning of the changes and learning how to be disciplined consistently. That’s the hard part. Knowing exercise more and eat less is obvious and it’s ignorant to presume the part people struggle with comes from not understanding exercise more eat less. Everyone over the age of 14 knows that. It’s maintaining change that’s hard.
Colin runs a rip n ship, and it’s OKAY to go to Costco to get product. He doesn’t hold a gun to your head or anyone’s head saying you must buy his product. Kids man…

You’ve earned it bud! The hard work shows 💪
Appreciate the kind words! Hope you’re well
@@ThePokeOffice thanks!! It’s ski season for me so I’m busy but doing well 😊
Keep up the great work. Sometimes just sitting listening to you talk about life and goals ect is great content! #RoadTo1Million 🎉
Yea, it definitely was one of the more fun videos I've recorded lately tbh
Another great video and on the move to a mil let's go!!!
LESGO!
I very much enjoyed this video, Colin. Congratulations on a VERY successful year!
Thanks man, really appreciate it!
No doubt your going to look back on these days with great fondness. Keep up the hard work, and try your best to enjoy the ride!

Loved this. I’m excited for your 2025 goals video
Thanks my man. I should really do that soon... I've been putting it off. typical... psh
I messed up and didn't choose my hard, and now my channel is suffering for it.
The good news is that there’s always more opportunities for you to get back up and keep going
In light of tonight's game, Go Habs Go! (I'm from Montreal)
keep up the good work and continue to grind. Love your vids.
It's probably just me but I feel like the hobby took a weird turn like over night. Everyone and their mother is starting a pokemon business now.
Yeah it’s disappointing, driving up prices like crazy and buying out all the sets from regular retailers and reselling for significantly above retail price making it very unaffordable for the ever day collector
People will drop off again. doing this is hard and not everyone can do it. Eventually it will slow down again, stay the course and do what you love.
I’d guess that’s probably true to an extent, but it’s also easy to notice things when you are deep into the hobby.

I will take comparisons to pokene as a YUGE Compliment
Great advice! Keep grinding ❤

Have you thought of getting into more japanese boxes and singles for selling, thoughts?
Yes I definitely have. Probably won’t dive too much into singles right now, but slowly working on getting some more Japanese boxes for sure

Hi. What are some of the best groups you use to buy collections? This video inspired me in many ways. Thank you.
I'm part of most of the FB Groups for Canadian Pokemon Cards. Pokemon Cards Canada, Pokemon Elite Canada, Pokemon Master Canada, Pokemon TCG Canada, etc etc
Great video - love this!
Thanks so much!
I would love to start my own TCG Business and I've also spotted a gap in the market but you need money to start and sadly I have zero spare funds.
In this life, you choose your hard simple as that.
Indeed
I've been passing up on canucks games too but its not because I want to work hahahaha
You,l unfortunately haven’t been missing that much
Colin what's your ebay store link?
I don’t have an actual shop link, but you can find my 151 reverse holo listing by advance search by seller. My id is “Thepokeoffice”
you are cool man, thanks for the advice
Colin you’re the goat!! love watching your vids
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Awesome Video! I love collecting and mastering sets! I sell my doubles on eBay
Very cool!
Story time with ya is fun
lol! Glad you like it
Shipping is tricky as hell for the best of us lol
Right?!
CHOOSE YOUR HARD!!!
Boom. Words to live by
You bet…Choose Your Hard!
great video - these ramble-ly videos do amazing lately
Thanks man. Yours are some of my fav content.
Don’t do it! It’s not easy and the majority will fail!
Your video is so quiet again. I'm getting my ears roasted when the ads come on :( literally the only channel I have this issue with
weight loss is easy, eat less calories and burn more with exercise
Lol
