Card shop owners find themselves in a lose-lose situation. If they charge market value for a product, they're often accused of pricing too high. Meanwhile, distributors are increasing their prices due to rising market demand. This leaves shop owners with little choice but to pass the cost onto consumers in order to stay profitable.
Sometimes. I had a store near me that just matched prices to the bigger store down the street. During celebrations they wanted $50 for a $20 product. That wasn’t even market price. It’s just what they wanted. That shop no longer exists.
I've had to tune out a lot of the investor videos popping up in my feed but I'm glad I gave this a watch. I've subbed and will keep watching. Thanks for the upload and y'all have a merry Christmas!
In sales but LGS that have play spaces are unique in what they offer and how they build community. Tabletop Village in Seattle and some of the other big sellers/LGS’ are great examples of what that looks like and how how GameStop can’t actually compete with.
@@MisterSam28I understand where you are coming from but when GameStops start hosting there own game nights/ and there own sanctioned card game tournaments then there will be a problem. Most of these game stops are located in high traffic plaza/malls and most parents like the convenience of that. Just my 2 cents

While I agree Prismatic Evolutions will be printed for a long time and the current prices will drop, it is a much stronger set than shining fates, it reminds me a lot more like Hidden Fates, a set that was printed for years, but still maintained strong value because of the strength of the set
Remember it’s a specialty set not a standard set. I would suggest that to wait patiently. As a collector everyone wants something new that comes out. I see things differently
I dont understand how someone had access to Pokemon centers inventory numbers? Are they hacking the system? Sounds illegal to me. Nobody should have that advantage imo. Card stores or customers. If Pokemon centers wants to release those numbers that's fine but otherwise nobody should.
People already had access to this for a while. Pokemon does not care as long as they are bringing in profits. They are well aware of the current market condition.
Meh not all card shops are created equal to be fair and I’m incredibly over the blind mantra we’re supposed to follow to “support your local card shop”. I’m totally for supporting small businesses if the small business is running a professional one. My local card shop is ran by immature man children, stinks like body odor and very cliquey I have no intention on supporting a business that is used more as a hangout for friends than a welcoming business for all. They also tried to scam me of my Yugioh cards because the employee said my card was an ultra rare and not an ultimate rare when I went to see what they would offer. At the end of the day we all have obligation to ourselves and if I can get something cheaper elsewhere I’m not going out of my way to support a business I don’t even like.
Honestly I liked watching you but you’re so emotional about this that you aren’t seeing the trees from the forest. 100% markup at launch is bs…supporting that is bs
Hey! Appreciate you taking the time to comment. As a consumer, I understand your frustration… the supply is just not meeting demand “at this moment”. Pokemon needs to print more but easier said than done. That will require some level of patience. My advice is that if you don’t want to buy above MSRP then don’t buy it. Simply don’t buy or engage. Last episode, I advised people to buy from big box retailers. So look there on day of release and good luck.
The whole thing about you honor ur prices so they’ll come back yeah okay , if u think people aren’t slick we want u today and chew u up tm. If u don’t got nothing worth my money tomorrow idc who u is I ain’t going to repeat 😂😂

Yes I agree that distributors are fully capable of raising prices when products are high in demand.

What’s scary for cardshops is the rumor that GameStop’s are turning into cardshops. And that will hurts the LGS’s

Terrestrial festival reminds me of shining fates etb. Reprint will come within 18 months. I’ll wait for the price to drop and have patience by then.
Not a lot of people have the patience to wait 18 months! Kudos for that. 🔥🙌
