Check out another fantastic model from hornby this time in the unusual shape of the hush hush w1 but not the everyday version this is the steam generator version!
Great review very well done thank you - very professional and enjoyable. I bought a Hush Hush from the first batch and found it a great addition to the collection. A very unusual looking locomotive. Good to see you review the steam generator which is on my Prince of Wales P2 but not my Hush Hush.
Thank you for the kind words its growing on me the more i run it! Ooooo yes have the prince of wales smoke generator its by far my favourite i think its due to the chimney being so big it really throws the steam out with the chuffs a fantastic loco that one! Thanks for watching😊
Great review Kev, really enjoyed watching this. Liked to see the close up on the rolling road, think these shots are well worth including. In addition running on the track is what it’s all about.
Brilliant glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the feedback with the rolling road made up its a positive addition to the channel to make it better! Will definitely keep a running session on the track as i get why people myself included enjoy them and completely agree its about how it looks on the layout! Again thank you for the kind words and feedback truly grateful to help me improve. Thanks for watching!😊
What a loco! Beautiful prototype, and the smoke makes it 10x better! Im actually plannimg on making my own smoke generator system like this in the summer after gcses, using an ultrasonic humidifier - it wont be dcc, but hopefully itll work! Great video as always Kev :)
Its growing on me even more lol the smoke looks awesome and that sounds epic bud would love to see how you get on with making that!! Keep me posted on your progress! Thanks for watching😊
Thank you and glad you enjoyed the review the its a brilliant looking loco and the cab detailing is amazing maybe a firebox glow would have been good too but its awesome just the way it is definitely looking at a black 5 especially with how good the one i have looks and goes really enjoying the steam generator locos! Thanks for watching😊
Thank you as always for the kind words and the feedback too will keep doing the rolling road then if its better for visual then enjoying it down on the track then fantastic have another idea too may pop just the running part of the video up on a Saturday too for those who just wish to see locos running round might be nice and something a little different what do you think about that please? Thanks for watching😊
@@Themodelrailer Yes, that might work, just having a loco running around the layout, just seeing it in all it’s beauty. I don’t know of any one else doing it. I would find the diesels boring 🤣 (I'm a steam loco guy), because you just see a brick moving, but to see even a class 08 with the connecting rod movement would help.
Ok brilliant thank you! what do you think about leaving the background music in then too sound locos i could take it out and leave it in for none sound/analogue locos?
@@Themodelrailer Background music is subject to taste. Me being old (in my 60s 🤣) will have different music taste to you being so young. Yes I think you need to have the music, keep the music in the background i.e. low volume, but leave the audio in for the loco, whether it has sound or not (I like the sound of a model train without the loco sound).
Hi, very good review of a unique looking steam train, I’ve always liked the model but prefer it without the smoke generator and the TXS sound decoder, in years to come when the steam generator stops working there won’t be any spares as Hornby don’t do them, this is a red flag in my opinion, I would like the model dcc ready so maybe this year i will add one to my collection, the first thing I’d do is fit a firebox glow unit and lighting, I hope your model give you hours of joy, thanks for sharing.
I know what you mean about technology, and that may, or may not be the case for current models in the future, but today Hornby Spares currently has 32 pages of spares on their webpage, the oldest I could find were for Ex Lima traction tyres. So Hornby DO carry spares, how long they continue to have parts available is another question. I tried to get a spare part for a wagon that I recently purchased (late last year) and was told sorry we don't carry spares, and it wasn't Hornby. Also, there are a number of retail outlets that are part suppliers for various model railway companies. You can get part details from Service Sheets and Hornby have a number of those online, and again the Hornby Model Railways Collector Guide website, and retail parts suppliers have facsimile service sheets for download. Hornby's other brands also have separate parts links from the Hornby webpage. ...Drew
Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the review! Love the fact that you are openly saying certain parts of this loco your not keen on as want everyone who watches the channel to have the freedom to say that without comments being deleted or a slanging match starting off as wish this to be friendly community that gets created here🙂 i do understand what you mean about the generator will have to keep fingers crossed on that one and thankfully there is the normal version without sound/steam to get i agree the firebox glow would have been great and a shame its not on the loco for some reason so you have to try and fit your own without looking at a none sound etc version I’m afraid i wouldn’t know. Hopefully it will as when i get the chance to build my dream layout it can really have a good run then! Thank you again for the comment and kind words and Thanks for watching😊
I think the rolling road is much better for the crawl and first running, its much easier to see the slowness, ànd the smoke is much easier to see too :)
Fantastic thank you for the feedback need to change or make a different backing for smoke locos to show it off more and brilliant thats its a positive addition even more glad i picked it up now thank you for the kind words as always!

Another great video, well done. Rolling road or track, I could see things better on the rolling road and then have a run on the track is good.
