  • In this video, different types of resistors and different characteristics of resistors have been explained.
    What is Resistor?
The resistor is the passive circuit element which opposes the flow of current or electricity. The property of resistor to oppose the flow of current is known as the resistance and it is measured in the unit of the ohm.
    Different Characteristics of Resistors:
    1) Power Rating
    2) Tolerance
    3) Temprature Co-efficient of Resistance
    4) Noise
    5) Stability
    6) Frequency Response
    Different Types of Resistors:
The resistors are available in various size and shapes and broadly can be classified into two categories.
    1) Fixed Resistors
    2) Variable Resistors
    Different Types of Fixed Resistors
    1) Carbon Composition Resistors
    2) Carbon Film Resistors
    3) Metal Film Resistors
    4) Metal Oxide Film Resistors
    5) Wire Wound Resistors
    6) Surface Mount Resistors
The timestamps for the different topics covered in the video:
    0:34 What is Resistor?
1:26 Parameter Affecting the Resistance of the Resistor
2:40 Different Characteristics of the Resistor
    6:48 Different Types of Resistors
This video will be helpful to all student of science and engineering in understanding the different types of resistors and the different characteristics of the resistors.

This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "should a resistor have continuity?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Henucas Panrooklyn Equalizer - (search on google )?
It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to repair electronic devices like a pro minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my m8 got excellent results with it.

Cheers for this, I been tryin to find out about "what is a fixed resistor and where would you find fixed resistors in your home?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Henucas Panrooklyn Equalizer - (do a search on google )?
It is a great exclusive product for discovering how to repair electronic devices like a pro without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.

I'm interested to do blog about electronics full time. But can I earn any money out of that?

@@soundarrajan6248 Yes, you can do that. But I would suggest you to do it part time first. Later on you can think for the full-time.

i've been looking at these kinds of video's for a while .. but your the only one who can make things stick. You explain the concept just enough in mathematical/physical/electronic way to fully grasp what the element is for and how it works. Great stuff!

Example at 5:10, I think you should be subtracting the ppm, not adding. Resistance drops as temperature drops. The equation is R = R_ref*[1+alpha*(T-T_ref)] where alpha is the temperature coefficient.
    Wonderful video!

Great video! But you got the graph wrong at 1:23 , the x and y axis variables should be opposite. As V= IR and R = V/I so the x axis should be I and y should be V :)

how to find out the values of all types of resistors?

    • @ALLABOUTELECTRONICS
      @ALLABOUTELECTRONICS  2 роки тому

You can use multimeter to find the actual value. Many times it is also mentioned on the resistor itself. It is written in terms of the actual value with tolerance, or it is represented in terms of color code.

One wrong news has been propagated by you. Metal film resistors Are EXPENSIVE, minimum cost of original metal film resistors are 3 to 4 times costlier than metal oxide resistors.
