    The car has no front side markers (the US-DOT amber colored corner lights), which means that the car was hit in the front in Mother Russia and someone put a European bumper on it.

      And of course it doesnt actually have 45K miles. One does not go to eastern europe and goes back with original milege.

      Maybe you think that here is wild west in central and eastern Europe but they bother us a lot with imported cars from us coz of different regulations that we have to follow.. the real wild west is still oversee looking from here! In some cases when importing car homologation require to change even breaks pads and disks.. guess we can go faster here.. just joking..
      Just want to say that front bumper could be replaced coz of import and EU law.. and the eventual accident is easiest to notice if you look at the gaps between body parts.. deformed chassis leave uneven gaps between parts..

    Oh, you precious naive child.
    If that car has been anywhere near eastern Europe, it definitely does NOT have 45k miles. Hook it up to a diagnostic program and check mileage in all data banks. It's probably of by 100k or even 200k LOL

      @@3DThaRapstar I say go for it. Do you want a Continental Gt or a Flying Spur? These cars can be an absolute nightmare if your not careful. But if you buy a clean, low mileage local one with all the maintenance and repair records, then I would say your looking at a good vehicle. Also always get a pre purchase inspection from a Bentley dealership. I'm planning on buying a 2006 Continental Flying spur with only 53,000 kms on it (around 32,000 miles) that is a one owner vehicle, with all the maintenance history from the Bentley dealership, and all the major work has been done such as the air suspension system ($17,000) and much more, car was taken care of very well. Very hard to find older ones where I live that are clean. All of them in Ontario have been tossed around a lot, and many of them are ex rentals, only these older ones (2004-2007) everything above 2008's are all clean and low mileage.

    Russia has low quality gas, low quality oil and coolant on retail. I know this quite well. Chances are you have scoring on the cylinder walls, worn bearings and if the engine was sucking in vaccuume then you will have had sand in the cylinders too. There was smoke coming from the exhaust pipes that looked like oil smoke, say RIP to the CATs. The suspension will be battered too because of russian roads. Best of luck. Oh and by the way, it uses the same suspension parts as an Audi A8 if you wanna same time bucks

    LOL. "Russia" and "original miles" should not occur within a single video, especially if the latter is preceded by "45000". Fortunately, Bentleys store their actual mileage not only within the instrument cluster, so any decent Bentley dealer will be able to check the actual mileage of the car. I give it around 80000 miles more.

    Hey, VAG mechanic here...
    I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong with your engine: it sounds like it is in "Notlauf", that's a mode pretty much all German cars have where they heavily restrict power and become really ugly to drive to force the driver to see a repair shop once something is wrong. Usually, there is only a broken sensor causing this, should actually be an easy fix (maybe knock-, cam- or cranksensor?). 99% of the time when a VAG car does this, nothing is wrong with engine mechanically..
    And before you drop anything out of your car, have him check the signal the ecu spits out towards the throttle body, that way you'll see if the ecu put itsself into "notlauf", usually in a VAG shop we can tell if that is the case through the diagnostics system, but I don't know if your mechanic can do that.

    • @coffelt683
      @coffelt683 7 років тому +14

      This is just my opinion so its not worth much but I figure if this mechanic can LS swap a porsche 996, maintain/fix an s600, and drop out a Bentley engine for service he should know about what your talking about.

      Jacob Coffelt some things can be done by any mechanic, other things need specialized mechanics. Regardless, I'm not sure why it would cost so much to drop the engine and cross member, it should be 3000-5000k, and that's really pushing it

    If that car was in Russia, ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that is the original mileage... I've lived in Russia, and literally EVERYONE rolls back miles before they sell.. I mean 99.9% rolls back, same with the CARFAX.. BECAUSE THERE IS NO CARFAX IN RUSSIA HAHAHA

    • @chrislemaster2695
      @chrislemaster2695 6 років тому +4

      No its easier to do with the digital ones all you have to do is buy a special scan tool you plug into the computer and select mileage set and you can reprogram the mileage to what ever you want. Look this up here on UA-cam. There was a guy that got caught doing this in California. He brought a 1998 Civic off the original owner had 310,000 miles sold it for 700.00 and then two months later he saw it again on craigslist with 78,000 miles for 2800.00. He saved over 250,000 off the odometer.

    Cheapest Bentley GT's on Manheim dealer-auctions go for well-over $30k with high-mileage. If it left the country for a decade with no records and sold WAY below market value, and is in abnormally-poor shape for a 45k miles car then the odometer was probably rolled back by at least 100-150k.
    I'd pull the electronic gauge-cluster with the odometer out and check its vin-markings to see if it has been swapped with a unit from an actual low-mileage car.
    Good luck with that Bentley, you'll need it!

      not really. you played yourself because you're paying for Hoovie to buy, sell and make a profit off this car. The only reason he makes these videos is $$$$. It may seem stupid for the viewers, but that's exactly the point he's tryna make. Your views are funding these projects, aka he's making lowkey bank. At the time of this video it's at 600k views, that's about atleast $10,000 give or take a few thousand. A lot because his content is family-friendly. Ads are easily put on his videos and the views just keep climbing up baby

    I'm from Finland and I'm not surprised over it being exported. Our vehicle taxes here are ridicolous and cars are overall really expensive for some reason, even if they were without taxes. This means that buying a car from another country and bringing it here to be sold can give you quite a lot of profit. Some people export cars from Sweden to Finland (Sweden has no car tax except for yearly co2 emission taxes) and either keep them because it's cheaper that way or sell them to make profit. I know a person who's dad recently bought a used i8 from sweden for about 750 000 Swedish crowns (or something like that) which is about 75 000 euros. If he instead would've bought the same car in Finland it would probably have been 140 000 euros, which shows how riddicolous our car taxes are and why some people here buy their car from Sweden and why some people bring them here from other countries to be sold and make profit.
    Even if bringing it to Finland to sell it maybe wasn't the reason of exporting, I at least saved you from future confusions of cars being exported to Finland.

      @OMGWTFLOLSMH 7 років тому

      You're not sure why taxes are so high in Finland? Healthcare, education and social security. Finland enjoys some of the best social services in the world and you pay for them.

    • @trihardcx6743
      @trihardcx6743 7 років тому

      Mr Sloth That would've been 750 000 swedish crowns. Probably bought it for around 850 000 at least though. 750 000 is lower than any i8 I've seen here.

    • @jocke8301
      @jocke8301 7 років тому

      I can agree that Finland has good education etc., but so does Sweden, and they don't have the amount of taxes Finland has. Most of our politicians are shit and use the money on things that aren't needed. The politicians even want more taxes and I don't even know why, it's too much as it is. They recently added riddicolous boat and motorcycle taxes too. One of our politicians even wanted to install simcards to cars so people would have to pay taxes for how much they drive, which would be a catastrophe for taxi drivers. Fortunately they realised it would've been illegal. The only reason why we have high taxes is because our government can't use money properly and think that they need more.

    If its just the vacuum hoses that are causing the problem, the best thing to do is not go to the main dealer, but find a mechanic who is able to do it for cost of labour. If it cost a couple of grand to drop the engine, its well worth it. As for the story though, 40k miles sounds optimistic, the interior looks in worse condition than my focus, which has 80k miles and full leather recaro seats. I'd be looking very carefully at the gear knob wear, stearing wheel, and pedals for high wear and suspecting its mileage is bullshit. With its history, if its stolen, that wouldn't surprise me either, id also check its vin numbers and how their mounted, and check they all still match and can be read.

    Snow tires add traction and friction over "all season" junk tires. The AWD just adds torque to all wheels. No match to snow tires on snow or even on dry ice. A RWD crown Victoria with snow tires will outperform an AWD Yukon Denali with new all-seasons on a snow covered highway.
