When Jay introduced it by showing the concept art, I was thinking Jay just doesn't like cool fantasy dragon concepts. Then he showed the actual model. Oh.....oh, no. Poor little orange juice hot-wheel race track with a weirdo bone head instead of a finish flag. I'd love to see how many of those fail boners actually sold.
My proudest moment was when I scored a Bronze Daemon back in the early 2000s.
"I murdered half his team and lost on objective points" sounds like an ork win to me
I agree on the Krondspine looking jank, but my biggest gripe is that even if you want it they jammed it into a big box of terrain that’s sure to be grossly overpriced.

Jay singing the praises of Infinity and Deadzone? It's going to be a good day! Both games I'm really into playing and while GW makes great models I'd love to see some other companies models on the channel and stream. The Conquest guy looked really nice. If I remember right they're coming out with a true low model count skirmish game for Conquest in the near future. Could be really neat! Keep doing the great work!
conquest is a great little game. some of the models are In a weird spot.
spires and 100 kingdom in particular the starter box, but any of the early sprues kinda suffer from being detail soft. you can hide most of it with a good paint job. And it is not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of.
The latest stuff is great and just keeps getting better. changing mold makers has seriously upped their game.
it is kinda funny actually conquest has basically done the GW plastic journey in less than half a decade where it took GW nearly two and a half. think 2nd ed plastic nids to modern nids.

So happy to see you getting into Conquest. I still have to finish my Spires army. But I'll be happy to see it represented on the channel. As for the AoS reveals, the Krondspine isn't supposed to be about fire, its supposed to be animated by "beast" magic and represent the concept of the realm of "beasts". I agree its a little underwhelming, the AoS reveals on the whole were underwhelming. They gave us a new Nighthaunt model(which I'd like to get your thoughts on), but what I think everyone was expecting, including myself, were the armies planned go get updated in the summer.
I think the fire is actually supposed to be amber, since it is amber magic. So it's still the fault of the paint job. It just looks like yellow goo when amber is more of a brownish yellow.
Man had no idea you would be at adepticon. It was my first time I flew in from florida. We had a blast would have been really cool to see you. Big fan of your content. Hope to see you next year

The fire on the Krondspine model is painted all wrong. The fire should be bright in the center and getting darker toward the outside. Big miss on the part of the painter. I don't think that would be enough to save the model, though.
That viking model is absolutely gorgeous, I'm so impressed with how simple but incredibly effective that method is

XCOM is THE most stressful game I've ever played. I've literally had to set the controller down go talk a walk think about what my choices are and come from sheer anxiety. Its on of the greatest series ever
Try Valkyria Chronicles! 1 was remastered for PS4 and it scratches the RTS/3rd person shooter/ttg itch.
Hope you do look into Infinity some more in the future. There's a new two player starter set coming later this year with Haqqislam/Hassassins versus Aleph/Steel Phalanx - the contrast of the desert/Islamic themed faction versus a Greek/Future Soldier theme could be interesting from a painting perspective since they're going to be very different from each other. Or if you want the current set of Nomads/Corregidor versus Ariadna/Kosmoflot, that's basically Cyberpunk versus Near-Future modern military *in spaaaace* .

How that skink got gold is beyond me.
I'm nowhere near GD standard, but second place looks way more impressive to me.
I think the skink makes perfect sence, I don't think there was a nother model that was as truly flawless like that skink was.
It doesn't jump out as much like the other, but...for technical skill, it's just insane. And Golden Demon often will reward technical skill over creative composition.

I think if the Krondspine Incarnate had a darker orange, and plenty of OSL, it would have probably looked a lot better.
Seriously, it's a glowie magic creature, you've got to do some OSL or it won't look right.
Honestly though, all I want from the set is the giant skeleton terrain piece and floating shrine thing.

I totally get how you feel about XCOM. It's exactly the same for me. I wish you could just get rid of the base building.
I really liked Gears Tactics for that reason. Way more streamlined. And I loved how they innovated with getting extra turns for special melee kills. So rewarding!
They need to release clear plastic, plastic and metal models and sell singular items like they used too(from what Ive seen)
I don't think the new elemental is a bad model, even if it doesn't live up to the artwork.
The way see it, it'll make for a cool _undead_ monster. Just imagine the "orange juice" painted as blood and gore!
Maybe I'll even find a place for it in my Silent-Hill-inspired Chaos army.

Given that there's only a handful of Citadel/GW female guard mini's, it's not hard to remember what they all look like.

Nah, man epic x-wing is the best way to play. Set a timer and go for it. My best x-wing memories are all from epic.
I had the exact same reaction to the AoS reveal - loved the artwork of the book (but don't care for the book itself lol), and was super disappointed with the model that's supposed to represent the thing in the artwork.
If anyone actually does use the creature, I hope they kitbash/print/convert their own versions that more closely resembles the awesome artwork!

oh so i am not the only one who finds reaper paints to be watery, i tried them at pax 2018 and am not sure i would buy them
Them, scale 75 fantasy, and pro-acryl have a much more fluid consistency than a lot of the paint on the market (citadel, Vallejo, scale 75, Army Painter, P3). It won't be everyone's cup of tea. I have grown to quite like it.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice everyone was at Adepticon, it was really pleasant.

They shot themselves in the foot making the artwork for the poopy model look god-tier and the model looking like I designed and painted it lol.
Fun fact: my Tohaa from Infinity have been based with alien eggs following your old AF tutorial (2014) on how to make Tyranid bases!

Way too fragile for gaming, imho, but ohhhhhh they are sublime. Well, unless you get that gigantic brick of metal that is the Haqqislam walking tank...
I can assure you, from personal experience, that they are sturdy enough for tournaments, demos, and clumsy case management!
Also, fewer models means more padding in the miniature case xD
i bought an Infinity Operation Ice Storm when it came out but honestly i'm intimidated building and painting it because of the size of the minis (and that they're metal) but my conquest to tackle my pile of shame has motivated me

Noviciates are soooo fun to play and those high ceiling level team are a blessing for Kill Team, but yeah brain smokes during the game !

How do you play a game with 3 players? We are three guys playing and are not sure how på make the game best. Thanks man for all great videos!!
for three player kill team we make a third deployment zone right in the middle of the board, a 6" bubble, then everyone deploys half their team with the other half deploying at the start of turn 3. this works out well, the person in the middle has the benefit of good access to objectives, but the downside of usually getting ganged up on early game.

The new Ghur beast I think is just the paint job, blend everything together might look better. But more importantly, you can convert your own, such a simple idea.
29:36 Wow, holy crap, that...how did they fail at including the chaotic feeling of the energy? The random and unnatural amount and spikiness of the ribs? The roughness, the evolving arrangement of the bones? There should be more ribs, and none symmetrical, and the bones need to be yellower, and the energy...let's go more red-orange or at least dark ochre for the amber magic...something besides...yes...orange juice.
Maybe it's supposed to be mid-assembly? Mid-summoning? Why would I want a model half-assembled? All the living spells aren't half-coming into existence, why do this that way? That is a very dope concept piece and that baaaaarely came through.
if you like Xcom, and we know you like 40k, then "mechanicus" is imo just a better xcom game then xcom, so you should love it
and i dont think the krondspine model looks bad, its just the paintjob is REALLY flat, give it to a guy who can do proper OSL and i think it will look fantastic

Do you have any advice on beginning airbrushers? I bought the Warhammer cursed city box so my friends and I can try an easier DND style game(We have never played DND but I used to paint a little bit of warhammer when I was younger) but have no clue where to start as I really want to make these models look good. P.S: Just found your channel last month I really enjoy your format.

New Necromunda box: nice terrain. Old school templates. What's not to like? Only thing is a wasted opportunity to miss some Necromunda Spiders in the models.

I'm getting back into 40k after 10 years out of the hobby dusting off my old orks and dark vengnce boxset and after reading some black library i'm planning to convert my orks to follow the ruinous powers any idea's on things that would help make this a little easier / colour schemes I like Dark reds and greens
Yeah, that dragon thing need more bulk. Seriously if i was going to try to rescue it it'd require a lot of bulking out. I am also not a fan of the head, honestly just a Trex skull would have looked 100x better!
Infinity is such a great game to play. The game system is complex but many of the rules and systems seem to work fairly intuitively and tend to resolve fairly cleanly. Plus the out of game support is so good. The army builder tool is great (and free), and said army builder links rules to their rules wiki (which is also free) so checking rules on a model you're using is pretty quick and painless. But atleast in my area it is trickier to get product and the player base isn't as big so it is tricky to get games in which is a very fair and notable downside. So I go well out of my way and enter into single day tournaments just for a chance to play games because the game is so much fun. The aesthetic of cyberpunk special ops urban firefights translates so well into both the models and the rules.
