Shell smash would definitely make sense for samurrot
All I want from regular Samurott is access to Shell Smash, but I do agree that Swift Swim is leagues better than Shell Armor
The Hisuian version is already good. Ceaseless Edge is an amazing move for setting up Spikes and being boosted by Sharpness, no other Spike setter shares these traits
Honestly super surprised to find out that neither Samurott form learned Shell Smash or Wave Crash already, those feel kinda like no brainers in hindsight. Tbh I'm of two minds when it comes to the ability portion because while I can certainly understand being underwhelmed by Shell Armor, challenge run content has shown me that it can come in super clutch at times. There's an argument to be made that taking it away also weakens the argument for learning Shell Smash, but that's not super important since they already have plenty of shell theming.
I think both samurott needs shell smash and hisui samurott needs no buff his signature move is broken and his ability is crazy if original samurott gets a alternate ability then don't even need stats changes
I have two ideas how to buff samurot the first idea is to take ten points from atk to spa and ten from defense and give five to speed and the other five to def give him shell smash and the fighting type give also all the moves in the movepool section would be great coverage him steel worker and boom a ru or maybe even uu sweeper second idea is let him keep shell armor but take 20 from atk and spa give them to def and spd give iron defense and this is a stretch but amnesia as well oh and give him the steel typing and boom once you set iron defense you re unkillable also give him body press and you have a uul wall
So, give them shell smash, and then give them a better secondary ability then your set.
Only the original version has a lackluster ability though
