A good day, capped off with a view, right from the shelter - surely worth the little side trip to get there. Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but it's been so many years since hiking/backpacking. A long time ago an old-timer(hiker)told me about this: He said, '...rub the soles of your feet down, once or twice a day, with isopropyl alcohol.' Tried it and it worked - toughened up the soles, but it took a few months of doing it for it to be effective - a little late, I guess - sorry it didn't occur to me sooner. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
What a country we live in! Congratulations on passing the 1400 mile mark. Glad to hear your feet are better.
What a great day (1400) and night of hiking on the AT. The fireworks and NYC skyline were really cool. Hope your water held out.
Beautiful! Colorado Girl
Congratulations on a good day and happy that your feet are healing. Stay safe
Shelter with a view, trail friends, a milestone, and fireworks! Terrific day🎉
Congratulations on 1400. What a great view. So cool!
It’s cool seeing the skyline in your videos! When I went through that section, it was smoked out 😅
💕🎨💕
Good job over 1400 and less than 800 to go. Good video with some good views, so let's keep on hiking 😊 with some good fireworks 😅
Cheers to 1400 miles. I applaud your dedication.👏🏻 As always your trail views are first rate and your comments are always friendly, informative, and gracious. Bravo to the fireworks.💥Thank you! Wishing you safe passage, success, and good health. Happy Trails!
Great spot to watch the fireworks!
WOW Molly!! That so rocked!! What a great day, and striking out solo seems to be a good move! So happy that you got to see that show from the trail with some friends!! You're crushing it even on your 'easy' 11 mile days. Sister, right now I'd give a toe to be able to do that, but I'm working toward it & I think it's so inspiring to follow you; I've been following since you were in the Shenandoah. Thanks for taking us along, checking out your vlog is my first order of biz at the end of the day. Take it easy on your foot. If that's plantar fasciitis I've had it & it can be a big deal. If your foot gets worse see a podiatrist near the trail somewhere is my RN opinion. Happy hiking dear!
👑👏👏🎇🎆🥾
Mojo, your videos are the best depiction of the AT that I have seen. Your focus on the trail with your honesty and candor regarding the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects have been a true delight.
Are you thinking the bruising is from all of the rocks in PA?
Wow! Happy 4th!
Congratulations on your 1400 miles!!!!
How cool was that!! I'm glad someone was with you at the shelter. 😊
That fireworks show with the NYC skyline in the background is the coolest thing that I have seen in an AT hiker video! Just amazing!
That is the best way to view a fireworks show, must have been incredible(especially the NYC show) . Where I live in Maine there’s a small mountain that we live at the base of and some years we’ll climb to the top and watch Bath, Freeport, Portland and a few other fireworks shows simultaneously. I love it but imagine all of the combined wouldn’t stack up to NYCs show.🍀
Hello Molly, I've never seen New York City from such a perspective before. Glad to hear your feet are feeling better. Thank you for the many wonderful impressions.🙂
Great day! Congrats on 1400!! And very cool to see fireworks over the Hudson 🎇
Happy to see your feet are better, I have had that when walking in light foot gear and not boots.
What a day! Glad you met some friends at the shelter and got to see the NY Sky line and fireworks to boot!congratulations on passing the 1400 mile marker! You’ve got this !
Congrats and Wow the views.
💥1400💥 Nice view of NYC! It's always a cool feeling to see a valley town lit up at night, but then add fireworks! I couldn't tell...could you guys hear it up there? Keep restin' them feets. 😊✌️
1400 miles!😂🎉😅 and 4th of July fireworks and friends. What a perfect evening!😊
You couldn’t have chosen a better spot to see the fireworks from!
nice night shot wow 😀
Harriman State Park, love it there! When you got to West Mtn Shelter, you were about .4 miles from one of my stealth sites.
Congratulations to you on 1400 miles Molly! You are doing an amazing job. We are all so proud of you back in Oregon❤
Congratulations on reaching 1400 miles! Your feet are reminding you how far they have carried you and your pack. Glad to see that you met some hiking friends at the shelter and had some good times with them enjoying the views and the fireworks. Hopefully, that was enough of a boost to get your MoJo working. Keep on hiking!
Very awesome day for you!! I'm glad you have friends that showed up, too.
Congratulations on 1400 miles. What a fun day. I watched fireworks from an overlook this year. It's so cool.
Thanks, I see you have keeled your amazing attitude, save journeys. ✌🏻👊🏼
What a great day you had on trail!! 👍 Congratulations on 1,400 miles! Yaaaaa. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 So glad you met up with some other hikers! The fire works were the best part of the day! Take care of that foot & hike on!! 😎🥾🧗♀️❤️👍🙏🏕️
It's always nice watching the AT youtubers coming through our trails in the hudson valley. We don't have the biggest or most beautiful mountains, but our trails have their own uniqueness . I'm glad you are enjoying the experience.
Friends and fireworks! A great day!
Mojo… that was cool.. fireworks against the New York skyline. I’m so happy that you had company as well. It looks like the rocks really bruised your feet.. so happy the pain has subsided. Poles safely down out there wherever you are! Congrats on 1400 miles. You are doing really great!✌️🙂💚
Enjoyed. Thanks 😊
What a great place to watch the fireworks. Awesome.!!! What an experience.!!!
Wow, what a great day on trail; crossing the 1400 mile mark, great views of NYC skyline and the Hudson and enjoying 4th of July Fireworks display with friends from a mountaintop shelter.
Hope the trails(some anyway) in CT and Massachusetts where good on your feet, the pine and hemlock forests are known for that. And bugs not as bad as last, and no flooded trails, very hot and dry but water still available. Take care of the feet. Happy Trails, Mojo
Congrats on 1400 mark!!🎉😊
I literally just finished this section.. Bellvale Farms Creamery to Kent.... watching this in the airport.
This week of hiking alone will give you the confidence to know you can do it, You will change from this experience.
You sure are having fun in NY and NJ😀
That was cool. Thank you.
Hi … really like your videos ! Very interested in your Gear List ! Would you be so kind as to list your gear and weight ? It seems you have packed wisely and your pack is not heavy and likely 16-18 lbs without water and food. Thank you in advance 😊
Congratulations 🎉 on your 1400 mile.
Congratulations on 1400 miles!! Take care of those feet. Your countenance changed when your friends showed up. I don’t think I would want to hike alone either. I was watching an earlier video when you were in Franklin and ate a burger and fries at .the Motor City Grill. How much weight have you lost on the hike? Your face looks slimmer than in those earlier days.
Hike On and be safe!!
Yeah, that’s just bruising.
When your recording are you using your phone or a mounted camera of some sort?
I mostly use a GoPro Hero 10! It doesn’t allow me to zoom in, so when I want to do that I use my iPhone 14.
Do you have any idea how far away from NYC you were?
Great hike, I enjoy our videos. Do you think the feet thing is a result of bug bites?
I'm thinking bone spurs are happening in your feet.
