You're right, btw both purple and red are worn, one by higher level in the church the other by the lower level. There is a video called Revelation: the bride, the beast and Babylon that uncovers so much including that.
Why is it creepy?
Purple and Red were considerably more expensive colors to achieve, and as such were reserved for the upper echelons of nobility and royalty. Cardinals are Princes of the church, and are seen as equal to a secular prince, and diocesan bishops to wealthy magnates and peers who oversaw large portions of land and population. There’s nothing creepy about it. Just a little research sometimes into ‘why things are the way they are’ one often finds the answers to be quite simple and mundane, and far less exciting than any nefarious schemes towards such.

I think the black Madonna art was because when the enlightenment happened in Europe, the Europeans were given an older version of Christianity which made them realise mary and jesus wasn't white this was because of their trade links with pre crusade Africa and most likely the Ethiopians who i believe had the oldest version of the bible before the dead sea scrolls were found. So the enlightened patrons of the renaissance Europe started including it in their art during this period Africa was allied closely but after the crusades Africa and europe were basically cut off from each other due to saladin expanding into northern Africa as punishment for helping Europe in the crusades and the origin of the black Madonna was lost to time

The Black madonna : could it be that the color of the statue is depicting the real color of Mary. i dont know about anyone else but ive never seen or met a WHITE arab , they are usually darker skinned people . good gravy so much ASSUMPTION .

why do we always have to belittle each other and think one is better then the other because of the religion we are in? honestly it almost seems like satan created different types of religions to separate us and lure us away from our true faith. I'm currently in Rome on vacation. I just toured Vatican City today. So much Satanic symbolism. While there were amazing works of art, I didn't feel the slightest presence of the true God.

I’m so sick of this 500 year old false narrative concerning Alexander VI and the Llancol y Borgia family. Borgia was simply a man of his time, and a little research will show he actually did a number of positive works and was actually quite ahead of his time. Was he a Saint? Certainly not. But he was hardly worse than a great proportion of his contemporaries. It’s all based on the xenophobic views of Italians and their vendetta with the Spaniards. With the Borgias in particular, much of the worst of what we hear is due to the sworn enemy of the Borgia, and papal successor, Giuliano Della Roevere, Julius II…who I argue had a far worse reputation in comparison.
