LOVE the bark top layer cant wait to see it grow out.
I learn alot during repots. Thank you.🤗🎆👍
Bark top layer looks so much better - a harmonious background to the beautiful dark green paterned leaves 👌👌👌
You have once again inspired me to get another orchid! Hahaha at least I blame you for my obsessive behavior concerning orchids😁. So I am gonna get a jewel orchid. I love the look of it in a pot. Kinda reminds me of a Kingianum in a way. Thanks for the video!!!
here in Brazil we call it popcorn orchid... just sharing...
@@matheuscosta8256 eu também conheço assim aqui em Portugal..🌵🇧🇷🇵🇹
i love zoo med repti bark! i use it for houseplants and ABG mix in my terrariums.
I just added this to my collection a few weeks ago! I am a beginner but so far she is doing well in a large bonsai pot :)
Beautiful transformation! Any tips on creating a more full plant? I was gifted a single, long stem unpotted and I potted it in a deep container. Maybe I should change that to a wider, shallower container? I did clip off a section from the top with a few leaves to propagate (I hope it works!). Would love any advise you can give! Or if you have another video that might help me out!
3 weeks ago I bought a jewel orchid. I have never had a orchid before and did not know that they could get snails. as soon as I am done writing this I am going to go check for snails.
Hi, water the orchid and check in the night time, that's when they come out of the medium! Good luck!
I looked at my roots the other day for my jewel orchid and couldnt not get the spil off the roots at all. I thought I had root rot but seeing you repot, it does seem like all the perlite and soil really end up imbedding themselves in the root.
You are my Go-To for orchids! Love this channel.
I transferred my jewel orchid to semihydro a month ago. So far, it's doing fine :)
first I read TROPICAL solution X'D , I was like wooooot ????
You are the queen of orchids lol!!!!
Terrapon of Lechuza Pon its wonderfull in my jowels orquids.❤️
Yes! Please do repotting ASMR! Love your videos 😍😍😍
Thanks Danny. So nice to your Jewel Orchid healthy. Remembered when you first brought home and the story behind it.
Haha I didn't used to like them at all 😂
LOL !!!! We have Jewel grocery stores. I thought you bought Orchid from there and was going to show us what to do with it
I was wondering if you had any recommendations about what to do with an orchid that has roots grown over the sides of its outer pot (the plastic planter inside) - I am trying to repot my orchid but the roots clinging to the outer pot are so fixed in their position it won’t allow me to pull out the inside planter - I’m scared of hurting the roots while trying to repot :((
This is a lovely and fun orchid for beginners. It's a lot like taking care of African violets. When I had one, it would get leggy, and the cuttings that would break off were super easy to re-root. The "bonus" is the long upright flower stalk of tiny white flowers with yellow centers, again, easy to induce if you care for them like African violets. Enjoy!
Perfect timing! My Macodes petola and a couple of other jewel orchids arrived yesterday and I’m planning to repot today. Thanks for your accessible and very understandable information.👍
I wouldn't recommend using it on your wounds even doctors say not to unless you have to (such as cat scratching that can have fungus and etc)
Hello Danny, do Ludisia discolors need humidity?
Do jewels grow well in bark and moss mixtures and if so what a good mixture
Love your flamingo shirt 😀
jewel orchid so very nice
Where does the bush snails come from
that orchid is one beautiful jewel. My parents use to have one and I just never knew what it was. Now that can be added to my wish list and at some point I will have it. Loved the video and have a great day.
Miss Orchid Girl, is there a systematic (through the roots- water soluble) insecticide for orchids?
Hi, I am sure there is, but most probably it poses toxicity risks, so I can't tell you a specific brand as I don't use those types if insecticides. A google search will definitely help more ☺️
@@MissOrchidGirl Thank you :)
Sooooo… i already have been finding baby snails. I just started plants lol
Oh no!
Hi, Danny. What do you think of repotme.com’s, Bromeliad and Jewel Classic Orchid Mix. Would the ludisia discolor and Macodes petola do well in these potting mediums?
Can you do a video showing how you prep your media? I’ve heard about reptibark having mites so some suggest “baking” them first. Then of course soaking sphagnum moss etc. even boiling leca. Thanks
Hi, I never prep my media and reptibark has never had mites for me ☺️
MissOrchidGirl thank you! That’s good to know. I grow mostly in leca but want to try your media/method as well. I ordered springtails too! 😊
Hey amazing video! Do you mind sharing the humidity level and temperature where you keep the jewel? Leaves of my discolour is turning red and dropping. I am trying to find out the reason....
I use Jewel orchid mix from rePotme. I put all my orchids outside this year and now my Jewel Orchid is spiking and has buds for the first time in my care.
I’m planning to repot it after it’s done blooming.
hydrogen peroxide is perfectly fine with other houseplants! any lasting damage would occur if you continuously soaked it for like an hour. :)
Hello! I purchased my first Jewel Orchid a few days ago, I've transferred it from its original potting soil and it is kept inside. It it common to find snails on this plant if kept indoors?
I know this is an older vid (is there an updated video of your ludisia?) but with the bark on top, how do you check is the soil on the bottom is moist or needs watering?
And were can I get the medium for that Jewel orchid?
Hi, any flowershop ☺️
Thank you 😊
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Paula from Mexico. Very nice. Thank you.
Super nice job on your Ludisia. It looked really pretty. Great tutorial.🥰🤗
8:59 I am going to use a mixture of 1:1 of sphagnum moss and perlite.
Yes, please. I would like to see an AMSR video. I've gotten very much info them from other You Tube channels. It's very interesting, at least to me! 😍
Yes for ASMR repotting!
Please, we need you doing ASMR, I'll be waiting for.
Hi 🙋 I love to watch you on UA-cam. I'm watching you repot a Jewel orchid. And my question is were can I get a Jewel orchid? I don't have one and I would like to have one it's really beautiful ❣️
Hi, try the flowershops, or google for the nearest orchid nursery, or one in your country or economic region. They don't tipically ship to other teritories, but they carry a much better selection than flower shops. Alternatively try Amazon and Ebay, but do your research when it comes to sellers, some may be questionable. Good luck! 🧡

Warn you viewers that higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide can be very reactive with skin
Even lower concentrations are reactive with skin. Its hydrogen peroxide. H2o2. Which is water with. extra oxygen molecule. You should be fine with the readily available concentrations out in the market made specifically for use on the skin and open wounds. So, theres not much danger involved with what most people would be able to get.
good info.. thanks
Since you mentioned that you have a garden, do you grow hardy ground orchids such as Calanthe, Cypripedium or Bletilla?
Hi, it's not my personal garden 😉
@@MissOrchidGirl Ah ok 🙂 Have you ever gone orchid hunting in the woods/fields? I found two orchids in our garden this year, a colony of Cephalanthera damasonium and a single Epipactis helleborine.
There is even a native Cypripedium species in central Europe but it's very rare. I hope to find one at some point. I'd also love to see Orchis anthropophora, the man orchid. That one is really interesting 😅
what is your instagram ?
Same name :)
