Well that rod has a drag rating of 20lbs. I sit in on all the builds and designs of all the RK rods. Most people can tell you line ratings but most people don’t understand how to calculate what drag ratings and what it means to build rods.
I think the pro is a little better and smoother. I think it depends on your budget and how many reels you want to buy. If your buying a couple I’d say go with the better ones. So far I’ve had no problems with either. But anything can fail.
Yes it should adjust accordingly to how you set it to the weight. If not then it’s broken. I had a old rhino reel years ago that the tension was broken. So far I’ve had no problems with these. But any reel can have a problem I guess.
Great video I'll say Okuma reels will fool you because of price..they are great reels especially for us catfishermen ..we or I'm very hard on my equipment..but I prefer the speed of the abu .because catching up to a fish running to ya and you need to put that weight on him ..but other that that they are awesome reels ..and great video and explaining the reels and your preferences. ..
Thank You Willie! Great video!
Awesome detail review ,I have to agree great reels at affordable price I have to the classic never had a problem 4 years strong
Thanks. Just wanted to give people a idea of what they are that might be looking for a affordable reel
I love my Okuma CLX 300la. it works great on my Negotiator rod.
I like the 300 also. I like the smaller 200s they just fit better for me.
@@catfishingwithcahoon8158 cool
Tackle bandit is like 30 miles from me, that's where I'm buying my rod next week. I decided to go with the reel katnapper like you use
Not sure what he has left.
@@catfishingwithcahoon8158 website shows he has a few persuaders, not the same model as you but looks like a good rod for the $
Yea the persuader is a heavy rod. Good rod. Its just a beast.
@@catfishingwithcahoon8158 Awesome that's exactly my type of rod

Thanks. So far it’s a great buy for me. Wanted to share with people that may be searching for something new to use that’s affordable.
So do you think it is worth paying extra for the pro or are they pretty comparable?

HANDS DOWN BEST CATFISH REELS
Does the spool tension knob do anything on your pro. I have 1 and I have cranked it down as tight as I could and it does nothing.

Ok thanks.. I'm gonna have to look into what is wrong with mine and see if I can fix it then.

Yea I’ve always been a Abu person. Used them for years. The Okumas I’m pretty happy with. They both have things I love.
