The Metro Area populations are funny. Dont know where you "found" them. Much to high in the most cses. That would mean, half Germany lives in those Areas (what is wrong).
Frankfurt am Main hatte Dezember 2014 717 000 Einwohner .....September 2015 731500 Einwohner ................ Ursprüngliche Schätzung aus dem Jahr 2000 für 2020 waren 689 000 ....was mittlerweile völlig überholt ist da die Zahl viel schneller wächst als seinerzeit erwartet .......................ausserdem hat Frankfurt die höchste Geburtenrate (betrachtet man das Angebot an kostengünstigen Freizeitangeboten für Familien ist es nicht verwunderlich) ....Alterdurchschitt liegt deutlich unter dem Bundesdurchschnitt ....den höchsten Anteil an Gebärfähigen Frauen und ausserdem zeiht es viele Junge Familen nach Frankfurt im Vergleich zu anderen Gebieten
Irgendwie wachsen alle Städte .Meine Heimatstadt wächst auch immer mehr abwohl der Stand eigentlich viel kleiner sein sollte

I am german. I live in Schweinfurt lower franconia. I know the world like germany and I do too. But our cities? I don't know! We have nothing to offer, like Hong Kong, Dubai, Barcelona or Tokyo.
What is about Dresden, Leipzig, Potsdam, Hannover, Flensburg etc.? Essen and Dortmund shouldn't be on that list if those aren't! And btw: Hamburg is the most beautiful city in Germany! :)
