Really, really nice video on Kenwood DMX8019, thanks for making this video. Could you please make a video on how to wirelessly connect this device to an Android system ? That would be great. Thanks.
I’ve had this stereo in my BMW E90 previously and have now put it into my Saab 9-3 convertible. It’s a great unit. Did you install the Connects2 harness with the filter to reduce the voltage to the factory amp from the high level speaker wire signal, or did you run RCA’s? And what was the reverse camera you used?
@@s28ero get a refund if I was you. The first one got sent to kenwood for “repair” instead I received back my stereo with a nice fingerprint under the screen and still plenty of dust. My second one is going back for a refund. Shame as it’s a great unit otherwise.
Hmm that’s strange, I’ve had the headunit in the car for over a year and apart from the dust buildup which hasn’t bothered me too much its been perfect.
Hi, thanks for the helpful video! I was wondering what model of mounting kit did you use for the mounting fascia? It's a lot cleaner than some other ones i've seen. Thanks!
Hi, Good review, thanks. It's nice to see how the unit would look in my car (also Saab 93 convertible). I have a couple of questions regarding the display. How readable is it in sunlight? Also, how well does it dim at night? Thanks
Thanks for the comment, glad it could help you. With the roof up it is very readable but not as good with the roof down, mine doesn’t seem to dim but there could be a setting to make it dim, I haven’t really bothered looking at it doesn’t bother me too much at night.
Well, I bought one and I've installed it. Everything works great apart from the DAB radio, which seems much more "deaf" than my previous head unit (same aerial). Did you have the same issue?
I didn’t have that issue weirdly, to be honest I actually don’t use the in built DAB tuner, I use a CarPlay app called Radioplayer which livestreams radio stations using my phones 4G mobile data. It seems like it can pick up radio stations in places the DAB cant. The app is completely free with no ads. However I’m not sure if it is available on Android Auto as I am a iPhone User.
It's quite obvious that you "really really" like this stereo? :-). Joking aside, I'm looking for a car stereo that I can use voice commands with Alexa. I believe this stereo does just that. It's a shame that your video didn't cover this.
Straight up... Gonna have head unit swap too

Great stereo, shame about the dust build up under the display. I’m on my second unit which has the same problem so keep a eye out.
Yeah, that is a design issue I started to notice.

Does pinch to zoom work with google maps or waze with this unit?
I believe so

This is the Connects2 kit
@@s28ero thanks for letting me know !!
How’s the player performing, still like it? Does the Cam button go direct to Rear cam always?
I love it, after looking on the internet the cam button is actually for a Kenwood dashcam accessory so you can view footage on the headunit
what a really really useful video
Thank you mate
Where did you find the frame tho?
Is this more tailored for Iphone instead of android? I know it's got android auto but is that more of an after thought?
Its definitely a better experience for a iPhone as it has the wireless capabilities, but if you dont care about that I’m sure it would be perfect.

@@s28ero thanks for the quick reply. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get one ordered.

@@s28ero thanks. Radioplayer exists for android - I'll give it a try.
