What a lovely band! Each individual is a fine player, but the teamwork is first-rate too. The presentation of the piece is enterprising. Not many other bands would include the Verse three times, even if they played it at all. And there are neat touches (the clarinet taking a Middle Eight, with 'threes' accompaniment; and the clarinet and trombone giving Middle Eight support to the trumpet solo). I noticed the cymbal being struck only once - but it was exactly at the moment where it was needed - on the fourth beat of a bar and to give a 'kick' to the punctuation. This band is so good with such details. Incidentally, the trumpet and banjo solos are glorious. The whole performance builds from a simple statement of the melodies at the start to an exciting final Verse and Chorus, demonstrating teamwork at its best.
