Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful batch of videos from your 13 October 2024 concert. We can all enjoy this Irving Berlin fun minor-key number. But I think the time has come to give a special word of congratulation to Coline Lemarchand. She works so hard in the band's engine room. Just listen to the perfection of the line she takes in any number as she pumps the band along. What makes it even more remarkable is that it must require a lot of strength and stamina to play that heavy instrument while standing up.

What a superb concert this was! How fortunate the people of Toulouse are to have such a wonderful group in their midst. All the musicians are good, and the collective sound and house-style are outstanding. Particularly enjoyable in this performance was the 'conversation' (trading fours through a double chorus) between Valentin and Fanny (03:02 to 04:07).

Delightful performance of this 12-bar blues. Maybe Georgia White's pianist Richard M Jones also had a hand in its composition. 'Biscuit Roller' was revived in 2012 by Tuba Skinny, of course. They included it on their 'Rag Band' CD. Georgia White recorded it in B flat. Nora sings it very comfortably in A flat.

So good to have another video from you. I remember Kid Thomas Valentine playing this one. It was composed in 1934 as you say by Jimmy Grier, Pinky Tomlin and Coy Poe. Yours is (as ever) a lovely, tasteful performance (the support in the Middle Eights is especially noteworthy). Kid Thomas used to play this in the key of F. But I note you have chosen A flat, the key used by Jimmy Grier's own orchestra - a key in which it works perfectly.

Fats Waller this is what reminds me of me Dad . Born Bradford Manchester 1920's, Left school at 14 got an apprenticeship with Metrovicks Trafford Park . Bought a clarinet with his first wage check and his old man made him take it back to the shop and sell it back cos he was first child in the family that needed to bring a wage into the family. !972 he bought me, his daughter a clarinet been playing ever since. Am 61 now.
