That excavator guy has mad skills, much like Silas does with the loader. Nice video, liked the drone shots.
Agreed, sorting the different materials and avoiding damaging the other building. Silas has similar mad skills with the loader
I am blown away by how much those large excavators still remind me of dinosaurs! Neat video, Silas!
How many real dinosaurs have you seen?
This was Fantastic! This guy really seemed to know how to do this demolition!
Hey Silas i do a similar thing here in the UK dealing in salvage, mostly electronic waste, and I get to cherry pick all the valuable stuff and resell, Really enjoy seeing someone in a similar line of work. great channel
...... 🤔
They did a good job! Silas remember pluck all those trees out away from the buildings.. Rubber roof will last longer and also those trees will upset the concrete in future.. better to get rid of them all now while small.
I can’t believe I was actually fascinated to watch a building getting demolished in a junkyard!
My hat’s off to the operator of this excavator, the way he peeled the metal off that roof, peeled the wood off, and demolished those concrete block walls without damaging that other building.
It’s awesome the finesse he had in operating that big machine!
That requires great skill!👍👏
Made short work of that building. Great vid Silas. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Give it a few years and you'll be saying in this area where I store some old 2020 Mustangs and Camero's there used to be an old leaky building ♥️
You make smiles happen buddy, thank you
Charlie 🇬🇧
Nice, neat demolition job. Too bad no one had the imagination and will power to salvage out the wood.
I was wondering about all that lumber, how much money went to the landfill
wet punky rotted
That is one talented excavator operator
That’s why he did it and not me 😎
This was a fun video. 🙂
Thanks Silas
Silas, Love the variety of videos you produce! Keep up the great work!
I miss working in construction around heavy equipment. Seeing a smooth amd skilled operator at work is a thing of beauty to watch. Seeing one who is smart and safe as well makes it a truly rewarding experience to see. I am glad you hired one who could do all four things Silas. I was thoroughly impressed. I am excited to see what new opportunities this opens up for you and your Dad now. Money spent wisely. Keep doin' yer doin'! Big fan from western Canada here.
I feel ya on wanting to repurpose everything, I work in a small trash dump, we haul exclusively for the film studios and television production companies. Hollywood is very wasteful and we try to recycle all we can and give as much away as we can but plenty of folks say "Oh I want that!" and we say "sure, come get it, bring your friends and we'll even load it for you" but they never show and it's off to the incinerator or the landfill. We can't save it all.
The company I work for rented trailers to the studio that made Equalizer 2. I managed to get lots of copper and brass plus the A/C unit in McCall’s kitchen. All of it was destined for a dumpster.
It's great when a plan comes together. I hope all of yours continue to do so. Besides, it gives me something fun to watch!
Editing genius!
Thanks Silas! 👍👍👍👍
Love watching a guy with talent doing precision demo!
👍👍👍👍👍👌Wow really enjoyed the video, great operator on the excavator, like watching a building surgery, they had a plan and the skills to dissect it exactly the way you needed them to, excellent demolition video thanks for bringing us along!!!
That spot cleaned up nicely. Great control with the excavator operator. You can see his skills in his movement.
No YOU'RE awesome!
Yes for sure
Where I live houses and buildings are constructed from hollow blocks, with rebar inside. The floors and roofs are poured concrete with rebar. I think it's to make them typhoon proof. I could have knocked your building down by myself with a sawzall and a big hammer. It would have taken way longer though. When I was a little, us kids job was to pull all the nails out of the wood from tearing down old barns and other buildings. Put the nails in a bucket, and stack up the wood.
And then build a treehouse.
Yep! 🤠👍
Excellent video and operator went extremely well for you
He's almost as good as you are on the loader. 👍
Oh my goodness! I can't imagine what that cost you to have that torn down AND hauled away. But I totally agree, sometimes it is so worth the cost to have someone else do it for safety, time and expertise. It will be over soon enough. I do enjoy watching things being torn down. You'll have some money back in scrap, you do know a scrap yard you can use 😉 😁 An end of one Era and the beginning of another one. Thanks for letting us enjoy it as well. Stay safe and GOD bless
That’s crazy that old building been there my whole life that’s going to look different for sure. I’m glad you are getting done what you need to though. Thanks for sharing.
Nice and clean! 😀✌🍻
You rock man!
Man that changed the whole look of the place, I understand the cost to rehab a place that far gone and you would still have to live with its shortfalls, fun video to watch!!
Very good crane work he made it look easy great video as always Silas I am so glad the UA-cam algorithm put me onto u I love ur videos
Demolition has Started - the old Building will be torn down - a bid sad as it was part of the 1950's History of the Site - but You will gain a Huge Area for Processing Cars etc ! These Contractors done a Splendid Job for sure - all what is now to be seen is the Concrete Floor and that will be very handy to You ! Great that You getting Your Loader Locally Serviced ! Great Video - Great Drone Views ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Cool Vid, I like seeing things get ripped apart !
I'm blown away by the operator. So smooth and confident. Just like you Silas when you load and unload trucks and trailers with the front end loader. Fantastic job
You could give away 100 dollar bills and people still wouldn't show up.
The demo crew did a great job, almost surgical! That pad looks like it will make a great processing/staging area.
Hey, Silas Great content. I love your video;s
All that space for activities 😃 looking good Silas👍🍻
Hello.
🤠👍🍻
@@JohnShinn1960 cheers John👍🍻
I would love to operate one of those for about 30 minutes. Longer than that and you wouldn't be able to pry me from the cab. 😊
captivating could not tear my eyes from it
It was hard reducing it from 4 hours to 30 minutes! So many interesting shots
Silas you are my one connection with American people although we don't connect I see diesel creek videos and Mr good pliers I have a cousin Mr Paul Cox who married a woman in Pittsburg Pennsylvania
Hi Silas... i have been watching your videos for a while. hearing you talk about the "thumb" on the excavator, i took a closer look at the bucket and thumb. I work on building the buckets and attachments here in Findlay Ohio . Each item we make has a "WB" on the side of it . the place is called WERK BRAU, and we also make car forks and many other things. I'm glad to see the things i help make in action take care and keep crushing
Great content. Looks like a lot of smashing this time.
Edit 1: Kinda LOLed when you said “water mess”
Cleaning up is good. Hopefully that storm Nicole does not clean us up.
Very impressed with operating skills. Sometimes slow is fast. Sorting while demolition saves so much time in the long run.
I have seen this in old barns-and old abandoned old gas station in Northern Nebraska and rulley Iowa
Thank you Silas. I really like that excavator😊😊😊
That demo company did a GREAT JOB! Super job in sorting out the recyclables from the trash. Their work when finished looked superb.
Thanks Silas! At first I thought you were crazy to tear this down, but now it's clearer to see that it would be impractical even if you rebuilt the roof with a slope and raised the floor, still only would have access to the street. They made fast work of it, you did well with the drone footage.
You should take all of those blocks and build you a road in the muddy part of your yard
Awesome, Thanks
Interesting vlog. Thanks Bro. Silas
Glad I stumbled across your channel. Awesome stuff!
That was awesome.
I need to put a giant googly eye on either side of that bucket.
My what an adventure this was. Really like your drone shots and when your video is speeded up the big machine looks like a dinosaur eating the building. Great video!!!!
Silas that tin was just waiting for the right gust of wind.
I love how that op knew where every tooth on that bucket was. Picking the blocks out one by one by the stairs....
Show off!
Many years ago in the late 70s I worked at a Cat dealer. There was a huge excavator in one of the bays. On occasion fog would roll in off the river and hang about 3 to 4 foot off the floor in the shop and this was one of those mornings. I came into the shops early before the wrenches got there and turned on the lights. I came around the corner and there was this huge head with menacing eyes, teeth bared ready to devour any human soul that dared enter...
at least that's what my stomach said as it tried to get my attention over the hair on my head standing up!
With my heart slowly returning to normal it struck me funny as a tough kid like me, standing in chest deep fog, in half light (dang near dark, ok?) all by my bad azz self, about to let the contents empty from my bladder!
I did hurry to turn on the lights in the tool crib where I worked as the night watchman came laughing to the window. He was a good friend and had painted those eyes with florescent paint and waited to plug in that black light just as I came around the corner.
Hey, those eyes were really realistic, ok?
We used to run our other makes of machinery down the road to the respective dealers when we got trade-ins. Those tires on the loaders and pans would bounce at speed. Most would set on a front to rear bounce, a quick stomp on the brakes would stop that. But sometimes you would get the corner to corner rotation that would make a sea captain sick. Then there was the hop, where the machine felt like it was trying to leap over a huge jump rope.
I really miss working on and operating those big machines, at least the ones before all the electronic stuff. I'm just old fashioned I think.
That slab is going to be a great asset for processing cars. Tools can be secured in the building next door.
Take care of yourself Silas.
Cheers
Terry
Great video Silas looking good Would have been nice to recycle all the cement blocks as road base in your yard Instead of having to go to the landfill
Cement and concrete blocks are being recycled as well as the tin roofing material. Only the timber and asphalt roofing underlayment go to the landfill.
That machine operator was a pro. Fantastic cleanup.
Cool one 👍👍👍👍👍😊
Amazing operator handling of separation of materials
The demo is great but some of the older vehicles in the background would make nice project cars. A couple of the old pickups and old chevy cars.....
looks great
What a major change. Excellent video of them taking the building down.
Thanks for the great content
Smooth operator he picked it apart & seperated it out 👍 👍 👍 👍
Awesome 👍
Awesome always 👏 👌 😎
That was totally awesome. Thank you.
I love the aerial videos of your classic cars you have, really cool Silas! I subscribed to your channel, and I enjoy your hobbies!
Keep us posted!
Are you talking the metal from the building? Great video. I really, really enjoyed the music.
We sent it in to be recycled at the claw that I used to haul stuff to. It was full of nails and was a major tire hazard
I'm confused as to why the landfill will take concrete for free but charge for wood that decomposes!
Oh man no one wanted those 2X14’s? My goodness, would of made great roofs!! Being 75 I couldn’t do anything anymore. Operator is very good, not crazy with smashing stuff.
I bet there was a lot of little critters who had to find a new home.
I have another comment. Here in southern California there are places that collect wood and lots of it goes to Indio CA where they have a wood gasifier and it makes electricity. Very strict with the wood not to be confused with waste to energy. But it is kind of like that.
You’re making some great videos Silas. Keep em coming. Thanks.
Cool silas u go 😊
Great video silas. youve made an old man happy today.
Excellent service from those guys..looks like you got plenty of room.. great content.. always enjoy your videos..cool stuff coming to you from South Jersey
What a cool video. So interesting watching them dismantle that building piece by piece and so skillfully. It really did clean up that area for sure. Drone footage excellent. Some people might complain about the music but, I found it made it enjoyable to watch. Thanks for taking the time to video all that, and to share it with us. Peace
.....ironic that people who complain about the music under these videos.....have never learned how to use a mute button.....
Great fun. Lots of space now.
Love your show thanks
Wow, that does look a lot different. The proper equipment with a skilled operator makes for a quick and clean job. That's why they make the big bucks 😏. Fun stuff to watch 👍
Awesome as always thanks for sharing with us.
Nice skills on the excavator operator. Looks good
All the lumber !!!!!
That guy is a heck of an operator !
Great video, progress is being made, Thumbs up
I shot pictures and video of a corner house being torn down.
The Excavator looked like so much fun to run, but they wouldn't let me.😄😄 It was a CAT 320E
Awesome video looks like they did an outstanding job
Looks different gonna make a nice place to stash some old cars
Goes down faster than it goes up
3:40 you left your clip board.
That was cool
That would be so much fun driving that excavator! A big boys toy. 👍
Amazing how little time it takes to tear down a building when you have the right equipment 👍.
Got some hotrod parts today. Did a concrete job and made a deal on a PMD OHC inline 6 sprint motor. Destined for the boat. But, gotta finish hotrod first. I'll film it, and cobble a video together for ya man!
Looking good now, more room
Been waiting for this video love you're videos
Get out and VOTE tomorrow 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲❤
Done!
🤠👍
Love your videos Silas! I wish I could have gotten some of the building but I live too far away! I need to build a small house and I'm poor plus I'd like to build it with used or repurposed materials as much as possible.🦋
