The globe looked like an explosion proof light fixture from the 70's
Suggestion: When you have time, get out your old vice and squash those pop cans just like your olden days!
Thank you Silas. Your Dad has the best toys. That skid steer is perfection .😊
Fun video neat clean up👍👍👍👍👍👌
Hey Silas ; With the housing shortages now , I'm sure than many homeless people would love to get their hands on one of those WC 's to convert to a tiny home !!
That shear would look cool with risers made to support a thick glass top. Leave all the mechanics visible. Just a thought
My thought exactly!
@@peterholmesgavleman that's a great thought!....i hope it's done as such
KInd of like watching an episode of "Hoarders". I just love watching the weird stuff you find.
So many people are rebuilding, or restoring old cars, and buying them. You have rusty gold, hope your cars find homes!
I bet the nieghbors are thrilled too have the junk cleaned up.
Cool stuff 😎
the westcoaster was a 1961 postal vehicle. I delivered mail out of one on my route from 1962 to 1970. It was one of the best choices the post office ever made. I hope you can put some of those back on the road.
Yep I’d be driving one of these to get groceries. But with a great comfy seat! 😂👍👍👍
The garden clean outs are really good 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you Silas for saving those West Coasters they are a piece of history
I haven't seen a west coaster in decades. Those should be on display somewhere , I bet the kids would be fascinated by them.
I get jealous of your adventures. You make interesting videos and I wished I could come out to your place to spend a few days. That would be so cool.
Those Westcoasters were around in my younger years (4-5 years old to be exact was when I saw them) Where I lived. there were very narrow streets and the Westcoasters would run up and down them picking up mail from the mailboxes and doing general mail delivery to the homes. Seeing those brings back childhhood memories. Thank you so much for grabbing them when you did Silas.
Vu uh 0
Zdx 9ll x6
👍🏻👍🏻
I had to take a test so that I would be able to drive one in Denver, Colorado 1968. I never got the chance to drive one delivering mail.
Great content
Amazing find
Love ur Chanel
Greetings from the netherlands
I've seen those as ice cream trucks. They would be cool as campers
I thought it would be neat to turn one into a camper trailer
Yes Silas that was awesome I love these kind of videos Farm clean ups, treasure hunts of any kind Rusty gold!
On the Studebaker, if you still have any left from the cleanup at the scrap yard, the windshield and door glass may well fit the wagon, as well. If so, it might make it easier to find a buyer for the wagon.
I always enjoy your adventures Silas. interesting video,
It would be a good restore car I like it
Such cool finds. The old mail scooters are pretty unique. What a great adventure. Peace
youve got MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@rsprockets7846 what?
I love those two ELECTRIC PUSH MOWERS and that green LAWN-BOY mower. I grew up using lawn-boys.. those aluminum decks will make them last forever.
Seems like those little mail cars would be great for city driving.
Love your program I'm so glad I found it I'm a junk lover from way back, if you ever run into any old Ham radios world war II era or later I would appreciate you letting me know I crave at junk, and it's been a month or two since I've had a fix I'm starting to shake
As usual another fun to watch video. Thanks for sharing. Blessings everyone
Very cool.............. 👍👍👍👍
That wash tub now I know I could use that. I collect the ole good stuff
1956 Studebaker Commander station wagon. There was also a Pinehurst that had more trim. I've never seen one before!!
People who go to the large car meets like Hershey would love to have those when it's raining to put their larger pieces in they would be the market for you on those
Those west coasters are so cool. Hopefully someone will get to restore a couple. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Definitely like this episode hey if you haven't already cleaned out those 5 vehicles maybe you could film It its kind of cool to go on a little mini treasure hunt you know But it's all good if you did well enjoyn the content and enjoying the channel god bless
the stude is good base for a complete restoration . i hope someone wi ll take care of it
Bless your heart
I'm glad to see a video up, UA-cam must have gotten the kinks straight. Gosh I hate losing something, so glad you found that checkbook. I would have been worried sick. You can find neat stuff in unexpected places. Thanks for taking us along, I appreciate the effort it takes to get these videos out. Stay safe and GOD bless
Ditto Alice, from North Yorkshire, England. JR/UK.
That paper shear would make a nice work table. Just take the blade off and it's a pretty flat frame.
They have license plates so they can be driven once registered. I don’t know if I would drive it on the freeway, probably three cylinders, they are light though.
Woah! I've never seen so many Westcoasters all at one place! It'll make a great museum piece of USPS history!
On one of the motorcycle style tags, it was last registered in 1987. 1987 is the same year when the LLVs rolled out, so it makes sense that the local Post Office retired the Westcoasters as soon as the new LLVs came. I hope to buy an LLV when they are retired and EV convert it!
LLVs will not be sold to the public. The plan is to scrap them all. They had to stop reselling the AMGeneral jeeps due to them not being safe.
When I started working we still had jeeps and chevettes
@@charlespollard8923 Woah. Never knew that USPS had Chevettes. I knew about the AMC (real) Jeeps that coexisted with these. Interesting!
I have 2 Westcoasters most of them were retired by the early 70's and were replaced with jeep, Cushman and Grumman's through the 70's and 80's
Looks like a stiff Kansas breeze would knock one of these over. Cool video. Never seen these before.
The west coaster came without the hood. The middle one is the unaltered one. It may take all five of them to build one good one.
More amazing content. Great timing too!
Also nice and long. Just the way i like em.
Thanks!
Thank you for your support! Have a blessed day!
Love the scavenger hunts, thanks for the adventure.
you see treasures in things that i dont even know. ilike these kind of vids
That shear is worth a chunk of money restored actually.
They’d be perfect as a performing troop in the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade! Hopefully Doo Dah parade can get back on track. Over 40 years worth of fun!
PS - Great eye, totally agree with using shear base and adapting as an industrial loft table.
i don't agree, i think it should be restored to what it is and be used- not chop shopped and converted
Wow! These things are so cool! I bet these things will sell pretty fast. They appear over all in surprisingly good shape.
i love the studebaker wagon, that would be a rare piece... i hope someone saves it.. great vid.. those little 3 wheelers would be unique to save too... thanks for sharing, silas
Cool vid, cool junk. Love watching you dig stuff out of a overgrown mess.
Reach out to Merlin’s Old School Garage, ( on UA-cam) he’s restoring one for his towns museum and made need something special
I would make a glass top for it so that you can admire the old industrial Shear table
I love those West Coasters.
Very Nice Haul Silas Really kool Studebaker
Great time Silas! You’re a good man! Take care!
That was cool
The Stude is super ugly-cool which is what makes Studebakers so appealing . So many cars have been done in so many ways the new trend is toward the ugly ducklings like the Commander that you have good luck with it !
Sell the shear as is. It is very cool.
Great find !
My husband and I both watch. We would love to see some of your wall art! How about showing some? Also, showing you making some wall art would be great! We were wondering what is a jungle lantern? We think that is what you said you were making out of the blue spray can.
They're called junk o lanterns .
that was so cool to see!....glad u taped it for us fans
At 3:28 those truck driver/biker style wallets have been quick sellers for me and dead easy to ship at $40+ a pop depending on condition.
Wow - these Dogs are a PEST !!!! Well - we do love the 5 Three Wheeler's Mail Trucks - so glad that You saved them - all those Motors as well and other Interesting Stuff - we love the Table Shear as well - more History Saved by You - and as You said " Abandoned no longer " - thank You ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
It's very cool
Hey Silas, you could do like you said and put a wooden top on that metal shear., but clean and sharpen the blade part so you can slice up your Christmas ham! Ha ha.... man , you got some nice stuff there. Great vid!
I believe those are 64 or 65 Rands with a 18 hp Onan . I bought a 1966 Westcoaster in 1971 from a truck dealer on Gandy Blvd in St Petersburg Florida running in good condition for $185.
Good seeing them again some 50 years later. ☮️
Good luck great find
Hope you find something cool in the west coasters. I believe a raised glass top would be better exposing the unique sear.
I am officially jealous.
Thank you for filming this adventure. It was fun to watch it.greets from Holland 🇳🇱
amazing!
West coaster's are really cool
The Studebaker would be good on a newer chassis running year lowered glass would be a problem there's got to be a glass safes I know it's not your scene awsome content brilliantly filmed thank you for sharing this
Wow this was really interesting this time, but really all your videos are interesting! You are a great narrator! 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🦜🦜🦜🦜 I'm glad you were able to find your checkbook! 😁😁😁 Don't you ever stop for lunch? We would enjoy watching you eat sandwich or two. Call me crazy but everyone loves food right?!🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🥤🧋🧃🧋🥤🍼🍼🍼
Very cool dude
The part you are calling a hood Is where the heater is located. They had gasoline heaters similar to what early VW Bugs used. The heater runs on gasoline and if you look at it you will see the spark plug that fired it. I like your collection.
I've been to get a hold of you. And tell you that I truly appreciate all your videos. You bust your butt to make a dollar to make sure your family doesn't go without. I'm 62 years old and I get tired of watching you. Lol I think your a great man! Keep up the Fantastic day dude!
Very cool thanks was fun 👍👍👍👍👍😊
My father in law and l put half of a VW pan and engine under on of these. Kept the single front wheel and used the whole mail truck body. Ran great.
Those things are really silly….really fun and tip over if you look cross eyed at them.
Very interesting double rear doors with windows neat.
Absolutely loved this video , It had every thing that I like. Way to go Silas and crew. PS: Pleased that you found your cheque book. JR/UK
I like how you're honest and you say what is your dad's and what is yours cuz most people or kids whatever and that their parents have stuff they would claim that it's theirs because other people probably would not know. I appreciate that about you plus I like all your content. And I think we're both about the same age I'm 42 though
Loved it.
Always enjoy your adventures Silas. Fun to be a scrap guy!
Excellent video what a find.
Hey Silas, Your buddy Mr. GP was on American Pickers. Have him give you an intro. Good exposure for your channel. You might make money and pick up some tips
Would love to have seen that!
The more that I think about it, Mike and Silas are two peas in a pod. Silas would be a great replacement for Frank Fritz on Pickers
I had one of those "Bomber tanks" for an air tank. It is actually a hydraulic fluid tank from a P-48_P-51.
Bet the city is happy to get that cleaned up!
Those West coasters is really neat 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love the vids keep it up
SILAS, I'm new to your channel and am really enjoying your videos. Your content is exciting and you present it with excellent, genuine narrative ... ... YOU GOT STYLE !
I like this video!
I would not get on a main road in one of those, but I’ve seen a couple in retirement communities here in Florida
Them are a cool score . I like vids like this for sure .
That shear would make a great welding table😊.
Those lil things are kool iv never seen one you gotta fix one up as a yard runabout 🤘
Nice video that sheer would be nice with an acrylic top English g the top of it completely so people can see it cleaned up first I'm sure some one can enamel it in period colour that car studebaka
Hey siler I remember those mail trucks running around in the late sixties when I was just a kid I was born in 65 and I do remember them delivering the mail just for a short time and then they went to the mail trucks Jeep little mail trucks but I do remember them they'd be cool the cruise around you get them running save on gas run to the store or something quick trip instead of using a big gas hog? Putt them around.
Very cool finds 😎
Old school Mail trucks. I've seen them converted into ice cream trucks
