This pattern was tied by a swedish tier called Lennart Bergqvist. The swedish name is superpuppan. I only cut the bottom of the fly, that way you can see it better it always lands right (if you don't have a cdc wing to help it along). A good durability tip is to wind the feather from the front and back and secure it with a rib.
Hey Davie. Interesting add to the fly that CDC is... I tie Superpupa with brown hackle, 2/3 brite yellow or caddis pupa green fly-rite, 1/3 chocolate brown fly-rite (extra fine poly), which are the original materials. Those two color combinations have worked best for me. Also sometimes weighted wersion of the fly can be absolutely deadly. Anyway you tied helluva fly, once again. Would you concider to make video of you tying Nalle Puh dry fly?
Hi Simon, It's more of an emerge than anything although I added a bit more CDC and found it far better especially in the rough water... All the very best Davie..
Hey Davie, I almost never have the exact hackle you are using. It is too expensive to be buying all these various colors. I do use white sometimes and can color it to suit but I used a natural brown saddle hackle. I hope the pattern on the water will be enough to get the fish to take. I know color is important, but it is a subtle difference. Maybe it will work. All the best, Sean
