I feel sorry for Chen. That was a good score and his coach didn't seem to care. Yuzuru's coach seems awesome and really supportive.

that is because Natthan didnt win, Yuzuru did. At this level failure is not an option the athlete or the coach wants.
Well even Yuzu loses, Orser Wilson and Briand always makes sure that their students are loved, they don't lose confidence.
If you've watched Raf for years, you know that's his "Yeah, not bad," face.
that’s just how chen’s coach, rafael, is on the exterior. i’ve read enough books and interviews to feel that rafael is very supportive of his students and strives to make them independent individuals. coaches just have different ways of teaching (i have no problem with this as long as they’re not abusive). rafael was impressed here but i’m sure he and nathan were also thinking of what could’ve been if the short program had gone just as well. either way, it’s in the past and nathan has grown because of it. :)
Now that I know how painful it still was for Yuzu during the Olympics, I wince every time I see him land on his right foot. But you would never have known it at the time, he skated so beautifully!!
Hanyu will get well soon! Because he is such a nice guy, kind, polit , humble and considerat, with best wishes and blessings from fans, he will be OK 😚

Same here. I never cared really much for figure skating but after seeing this incredible performance I watch it again and again. I'm sure I've watched it more then 10 times now.

Dang, those Canadian ice dancers! The slow mo scene shows them in PERFECT symmetry. Unbelievable.
I only hit the like button cuz Yuzuru "Ice King"Hanyu HAD to be in it.
And we all know 111.68 was totally underscored. His SP was mind blowing. And as near to perfection as no other.

No, his last element didn't include the change-foot spin. Otherwise, with the level 4 technique distinction, he could have made a WR. It was beautiful, nonetheless.
Look at the quality of Yuzu's jumps! They are so fluid and breathtakingly beautiful.
I still rewatch at list one time at weak: Yuzuru, Alina and Scott&Tessa. For me they on another level. Fabulous.

This is actually slightly wrong. Alina scored over 158 during the team event. That’s the highest Olympic score.
i think they didn't want to feature her three times cause she was already two times on the list

It's really a scandal of the judges that Yuzuru's short programme in pyeongchang didn't break his own record (112.72) !
He lost a level with his final combination spin going flat on an edge. It's not that uncommon for him to make that mistake (and I say it as his fan, he is my favorite).
R. I love Yuzu but I also know that he got level 3 for his last spin. That's probably the reason he got 1+ mark lower than his world record. Maybe one can argue that he deserved a better PCS, and i actually agree with that. Let's not start a war here. :)
Still its a very high score for a person suffering an injury and taking pain killers.
True I think I see why he got level 3 for his last spin. I am just pissed off by how judges gave their PCS (comparing to how they threw PCS like candies to some other 'medal favourites' lol)

It's technical all so perfect, but I miss the love, emotions, joy while skating. There will never be anoter Gordeeva/Grenkov, Plushenko, Katarina Witt and, and, and. They somehow made the audience feel they were skating just for them.
Alina got 158.08 in Team Event! It should be considered the highest!
I think they only included the Single event and not the teams.

Nope. Their FD score hasn't surpassed P/C's FD score the whole season. And V/M's FD of 2018 Olympics is the only time that gained over 120 points, almost 4 points higher than that of their team event's FD score. I don't see much difference but the score is a lot higher?

Nostalgia! Alina definitely peaked at the Olympics. Evegenia has came so far and has improved so much!! Hasn’t peaked yet for sure. She’s only getting better
