I hope everyone understands that you need to approach your vacation wisely and rest properly. I like to drink water and remember that 3 days of work is no more, take care of yourself
I lived at a hostel in the tenderloin area for about 3 months when i moved back to the states from Europe, and the homelessness I witnessed was eye opening. The stench of shit & piss when walking through streets was unbelievably potent, it got me gagging to the point of throwing up. Its something you get used to eventually but for a new comer it can be overwhelming. The city workers come out at night to clean up the streets but it doesn't help much, honestly, because they'll be littered with trash and needles the following day. It's a never ending cycle. I can truthfully say people don't know what crazy really is until they witness some of these people acting up on the streets. I'm glad I got to witness it all because it makes me appreciate all the little things in my life.
It's the rubbish they throw about everywhere, even all around where they sleep that bug's me. You can clearly see bin's are around.

I loved sf but after all the homeless and car thefts I have no passion to go back there.
