Thank you so much for this video, I had to use some push pins too and my fingers are still sore as I'm typing this 😂 I got one for myself and another as a gift for my brother, his wrists are slightly bigger so here's hoping he won't have to go through the trouble I did 😩
@@triv4555 Lololol. Glad it was helpful! The whole process is such a pain (literally and figuratively). I'm sure your brother will really appreciate the thoughtful gift!
I oogled over this watch for a long time and its the first watch i've ever bought with my own money. I got it it in two colors(75 & the 79) to celebrate my wins over this year. thank you for making this video to help those with one of these or wants one of these to see what it's like to adjust the bracelet. Happy Holidays!!
my boyfriend bought me a watch and i already had links removed at a kay jewelers but it still was quite big on me so i followed this tutorial and i was able to remove one extra link which made all the difference lol, thank you so much for this tutorial! super helpful and i was able to do it on my own!
Great man! Thank you. I gifted a Seiko to my mom this Christmas and now I can make it fit to her wrist today. Thanks a lot and Merry Christmas to you and your Family!
Wow that was so easy took me 30 second to scroll the video and 30 second to do it.. I didn't know it was so easy otherwise I would have fixed it an year ago.. Thanks alot and Subscribed and 👍🏼
I was pretty worried to do this by myself but with the help of this video, a needle and a the back of a scissor as the hammer, it worked so so well hahah.
I just moved the bracelet up to the 5th small micoadjustment, put the pin back in and popped it back in place, and the band fit perfectly, and the clasp works fine.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I was thinking this was how it was done but wanted to know how so I don’t mess it up. Man the Bergeon tool will change your life. They are awesome.
My new 5 leaves 1 leg I band, I thought I'd broken it til I removed a second, nope meant to be that way. If you use one plier tip to push down, you can squeeze the pliers to pop the pin!! 🙏
If you need to take let’s say 3-4 links off, should you take two off of each side so it’s an even length on both sides or can you take 4 off of one side?
Don’t be intimidated! I found this easier to adjust than the typical pin style (and much easier than a pin and collar) bracelet. The difference may be that my watch the links were “L” shaped versus the “U” shaped links in this video. Maybe the “U” links are a lot harder than the “L” links?
The L shape was easy but since the idea quality was bad I struggled a little bit. Instead of using the bump as a footing to push the pin out I was just pushing some random ass metal and it scratched it a little bit. I got my first seiko watch today and I've always wanted to start collecting one, it'll be probably the next 5 years until I get another automatic, since I'm still not finished in other things yet.
I have extremely small wrists and was wondering if you could remove more links after the arrows stop as that may be the case if I buy this watch. Can you or not?
Hey, i just got the snxs79 but they look very small and i don't no if this is normal ? the diameter of 37 mm represents the dial, right ? here my dial is only 30 mm 😢 please help me 🙏 it's the first time i bought an automatical watch ! Thanks you.
Put it in one side of the clasp with your fingers, then compress the other side with either the watch tool, or a fingernail, while sliding it back in. Let me know if you still need help.
Thank you for this. Not perfect but I was completely lost trying to size my Seiko 5 bracelet. Thos is the worst bracelet I've ever owned, and I've owned watches under $50 new that were 3x easier to work with and 3x higher quality. Ridiculous
Sorry about that. Try shining a flashlight on your floor, it may help illuminate the springbar. If you can't find it still, they are somewhat affordable to replace. I can help point you in the right direction if it is still lost
@@tharupathiyaddehige8089 Lololol. It's all a part of the process. I can't tell you how many springbars I probably have in misc. corners of my room, never to be seen again.
The 19mm lug width and the cheap bracelet really let this great looking watch down. But it looks good enough to the casual observer. I put mine on a leather strap.
Don't bother, buy a new strap. You can buy the olyster, nano or leather. I got the leather and now waiting for the olyster. the strap is 19mm. With the olyster, make sure it's the curve ends that you buy. Leather can be normal straight. Ebay is cheap
@@ChronometerCheck lol yeah. I knew instantly it wasn't worth it. I got a new leather strap for £5 or a olyster bracelet for £8. The olyster is most likely from China. The orginal bracelet will take so much time and pain lol. The new Rolex looking olyster (unbranded) would look better too but have to wait a month or two. If it's cheap in the Uk, it should be cheaper in the US
Hello. I purchased the watch last week. In blue sphere. I changed the metal strap for a leather one like you. I don't know if it's my case, but the dial on the side, at 6 o'clock on the dial. It presents some marks or scratches caused by the fastening of the original metal strap. Specifically for the two metal extensions at twelve and six, which makes the strap fit perfectly to the spherical shape of the dial. Can someone confirm that this is so, that the original strap scratches the side itself. Observing these scratches if we opt for a leather strap. Thank you very much
@@eduardopo8908 I'm not sure what you did but you just have to be careful. When I took the strap off, I made sure the tissue i put it on is clean (no sand or dust). Also be careful not to stratch the front. Imo it's ok to stratch the back, if no one can see, when you put the watch on. This is as best, as I can describe it. Hope this helps 👍
The reason it is taking you so long and you are destroying your tools and links is you are doing it incorrectly. Instead of pushing a screwdriver UNDER the slide pin and using brute force to push it out, simply press DOWN just behind the small locking pip, then push it forwards in the direction of the arrow. You do need to be quite firm, but no brute force, just press down and forward, should take ten seconds not ten minutes. The pip is to stop it working loose whilst wearing, when you pry up from the underside as this video, you are actually making it wedge even harder under the outer edge of the link, the harder you pry the harder it is to remove...so, don't, press down and forward, just behind the pip, it will slide under the edge of the strap and voila...it will just slide out. And to put a link back, you should be able to just use your fingers, no force what so ever, you have to use tools due to the damage you have done to the links. No need for pliers or hammers and no damage to anything, and it takes me about 10 to 15 seconds per link.... Hope this helps someone & prevents them destroying links.
Sizing these bracelets are SUCH A PAIN! Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Any flat head screwdriver should do. Will depend on the size of the links and bracelet in question.
