- If you're a Mason, you know that our daily habits play a big role in our Masonic journey. In this video, we'll explore the 4 things ALL Masons should do EVERY DAY (#4 can change your life!)
One of the main goals of Freemasonry is self improvement. But often, we don't really get into practical discussions of how to really make that happen. In this video, 33° Scottish Rite Mason Maynard Edwards, discusses a few Masonic ideas that can aid in making you a better person.
You likely already know about these 4 things good Masons should do everyday, but let this be a reminder to make them a daily practice.
If you're not a Mason, you will also certainly benefit from these four practical tips for self-improvement.

Brethren! Make sure you shout out your Lodge and what is something you always try to do every day as a Mason?
Try to meditate, even while walking or doing some other activity. The Way of the Heart is truly Ineffable. We focus a lot on seeking Wisdom, on building Strength of character, body, mind and purpose...
...but how often do we really take the time to appreciate the Beauty which He hath wrought?
Hello From The UK.
From Bro. Rick Kirkby Of The Old Bridlingtonian Lodge 6843... Also A Mark Master Mason & Royal Arch Mason, Soon To Be A Scottish Rite Mason Also.
I Keep In Contact With The Brothers, Most Days...
I Try To Learn New Things, Maybe Not Every Day, But I Do Watch & Try To Answer TV Quiz Questions, Everyday...
So I Guess I Try, To Learn Something New Each Day...
I Must Pray More...
All The Best Brother(s)
Hi
Osceola Lodge 515, Osceola Mills, PA.
Everyday I try to treat everyone I meet with respect. Regardless of their attitude, demeanor, or the way they treat me. I take being honest very seriously and I attempt to avoid unnecessary conflict at all Costs. I've been told I'm very good at all of these by multiple people and that they wish they could have the calm demeanor that I carry everyday.
I tell them there is always room for improvement and that it's not always easy being the good guy.
White House Lodge No. 700, Valley of Nashville. Greetings, Brothers. I am thankful for so many of God’s blessings, too many to count! Masonry and Scottish Rite have truly helped me become a better man. As for my daily practices, Prayer, learn something new from the Blue Book, read a chapter in M&D, or participate in a meeting. Thank you Bro. Maynard, you are a Blessing to us all!
1. Pray and thank God
2. Learn something new
3. Reach out to a brother
4. Reflect on your day - what you did well and what you need to do better.

I have found myself growing closer to god since i became a mason, it actually got me back into church as well. and every few days i at least talk to one or two of my brothers from lodge. My wish in this life time is when my days are done my kids and grand kids can look back and see what a difference masonry changed me and the way i looked at things in life. and hopefully i made an impact in their life to hopefully one day they would take it upon themselfs to knock on the door.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Biltmore lodge #446 Asheville NC. I try every day to come up with ways that I can be of greater importance to my lodge, my brothers, and our communities
@@julianwilliams7109Freemasonry is Demonic at its highest peak. But what do I know. Godbless you because you are going to need it Sir🙏
which. church ? since its an multi belief organization
I agree. It’s an order for living and being a better man. Good Hope 29, F&AM, MWPHGLCA
Hey brother I am a master mason. My grandma is 356 years old. I fallen behind on my masonic duties. I have to get back into my lodge. Thanks for what you're doing for our first. Love you man. Keep up the good work. .my name is Michael and I love your channel.
Explained very well for those who know nothing about Freemasonry....
I'm a licensed massage therapist. Everyday I help people to feel better. I try to give every client my full presence, share my knowledge, and truly connect the mind with the body for a moment.
Love Love Love this! Thank you so much for making this video Brother! Everyday, giving thanks, lighting the lamp to learn, reaching out to Brothers with the contagious spirit of love and reflecting on the golden verses of how we can do it better again tomorrow! This simple and beautiful video states the intention, embodiment, and merit of the craft I love so much! HEAR HEAR! #123, Santa Rosa Valley
Thank u, fellas. Hope ur all having a great Thanksgiving... I for one am eternally grateful and thankful for all the help... And the hell... That so many folks both seen and unseen have done to help me along my journey in life. It's not wasted or unappreciated. Thank you all with all my heart. I love you guys.
Love your channel and it is one of the reasons I’ve take the first step in becoming a Freemason.
I recently visited my local Lodge, one of many in West Lothian, Scotland, as they were having an open evening, met the brethren and filled out the application form. Some of the Masons knew my Grandfather and Uncle who were both in the same lodge. I’m just waiting to hear back from them and begin the process.
I just returned my fellowcraft catechism recently. I came across your videos very recently. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and most importantly clearing and answering many questions I had and was not sure how to ask them. Thank you so very much
Thanks!
Thank you for your support Bro. Dean!
I am not a Mason but surely your ideas are most helpful. Worth sharing to everyone. Thank you.
I am a 4th generation Mason. A member of York Rite. Past High Priest, Past Thrice Illustrious Master and Commander of Palestine Commandry 11 in New Hampshire. A Knight Mason and York Rite College. My next step will be joining Scottish Rite as my grandfather became a member the 1940s. It is extremely important to pray every day, to call our older members that we don't see at meetings and to strive to improve our selves,
do you masons not swear oaths in your ceremonies? Jesus Christ said in Matt.5;34 swear not by anything. also linking yourselves to non christians in worship is Wrong. do you not know who the sons of Ishamel are? Jesus had no secrets and masonry is wrong!
@@patriciareynolds2729what do you mean linking yourself in worship? There’s no worshipping going on at the lodge. That is for your church.
I will like to join I'm very serious
Eugene Lodge 11, Eugene Valley 32*
Great reminders!
I know I'm doing well if I'm doing these daily, Yoga/exercise, reading, journaling and practicing temperance.
Always wake with gratitude and reflect nightly.
Greetings and warm wishes from a fellow Oregonian who isn't a Brother but is intrigued by the little bit of info he's garnered about the Craft (2 great grandfathers were AASR).
I enjoyed this brief "walk in the woods" with you. Numbers 1, 2, and 4 are things that I've done for a long time. Number 3 is a bit more challenging for my more introverted personality. Though I've done a number of outgoing things in Masonry, it's not my comfort zone to initiate contacts "out of the blue". I'll have to ponder this for awhile.
Bro. Maynard!! I did it, I was raised on October 30th. Churchland Lodge no. 276 A.F.&A.M.
Congratulations! That is excellent news. Hope you enjoy your journey.
Congratulations!
How long were you dead?
Congratulations widow son
Really great info. I been practicing these every day since I got initiated in 2015 and I’ve grown so much and made so much progress in life and personal development. It’s something that came naturally after initiation and seeing you talk about it just confirms it.
Thanks!
I totally agree with you. Every morning i give thanks and during the day before i go to sleep I give thanks because I know without God's help would not be where I am today or accomplish anything I have now. Great advise thank you brother.
Nice content. I've always felt compelled to pursue the greatest interests of mankind, to wit. A way to be influential, powerful and protected. always felt the need to be recognized wherever i go, not because i am proud or clamorous but because of who i am and what i represent. The inner me is gasping to find out more knowledge about the human race and about the things that not everyone is destined to know. I wish to blossom into the enlightenment that our forebears wanted so desperately for us to gain.
well i think your feeling is kinda understandable, it's really just you been human. If you really seek enlightenment you can achieve that and so much more by joining the Illuminatus. I know it sounds mythical, but there are ways you can actually get in
Oh yeah? is it even possible to join? i always thought it's meant for certain people in the upper class.
yeah that's intentional, i mean that's what they want you to think. if you need to get more enlightened on the subject, look up Anthony Rogers Szymon. Will help you get more clarity and answers.
That's great. Thanks so much for the reference, I just looked him up and left him a message already.
@@tinomccormick21o Do not fall for this. If you're looking to join the masons simply Google your city and state (if in America) and Freemasons if any is in your town it'll show you. Go to the lodge and ask about joining I assure you leaving a message for someone is not the way lol.
1962 6th grade teacher said no matter where you are in the world a man is at his best when he is praying to his GOD.
Never forgot her saying that can still see that class room.
Learn to love the little things in this world first then you can learn to love GOD the creator of all things
Great video.
Thank you
This is something everyone should do
No matter what you do as a man
THIS IS AWESOME I LOVE THIS CHANNEL IT'S LIKE BEING APART OF THE MASONIC CLUB WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING IN IT.
Too funny.
Thanks
Thank you for this as someone who has just joined NMJ AASR out of the valley of biinghamton new york I feel like this advice is amazing not only for masons but for anyone seeking to have a better quality of life overall.
This is an excellent video, great advice, brother, and personally I like the walking in the woods.
I what to join
Great insights….Self improvement is actually self awareness and it shows you how it adds value into your life every single moment.
Number three is the most important, and a good reminder.
Number four supports that as well.
I haven't been to lodge in a long while. I really needed to hear this. Thanks for the video Brother. Subscribed
Not a brother, but just came to tell your editing and this whole presentation in the woods is well done. Stay strong all!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed. Hope you will subscribe!
Wow! This made me want to subscribe!🙏🏼
This definitely makes me reflect on being a better human and Masion ❤️
#3 is close to one of my favorite things to do. I like to tell other brother to tell each other that you love them and to say it often...and make it weird. We need those connections.
Great video, Brother! I do every one of these daily except the third one, which I'm now, having had watched this, incorporating. Shout out to Seattle Valley, but now living in SLC.
I'm not a Mason but I like what you posted. Especially number 4...as men, our culture doesn't tell us to give ourselves much credit for anything at all. And yet, most men are good men who contribute much to society.
The four mentioned principles are so educative and powerful I like them
Action, thinking, word, choice, feeling.
Brother Maynard, thank you so much for your teachings via this channel. I am a master Mason but drive over the road and not able to attend lodge like I want. However, I try to be kind to everyone no matter what the circumstance. I often see other brothers talk harshly or down to other people. It appalls me to see that. The brothers acting as if they are better than anyone else. These certain ones are in the shrine too though. Thanks again. May God keep you and guide you all of your days.
Thanks for your kind words. Lets all pray every Mason does his best to live up to our promises to God, our neighbor and ourselves. We all fall short of the Glory Brother!
Good afternoon how are you my father a lot of freemason but I follow your messages and the worst in those Society I hear it's encouraged me a more in life and learn more in life and I know one day to get me to my success thank you for your preaching
That truly helped me, brother! Im a MM at Richmond Lodge 412 in Hephzibah, Georgia. And a 32° Scottish Rite mason from The Valley of Augusta Orient of Georiga.
This is good advice for any man in general. I am not a mason but I have been approached to join. I pray everyday. Do something to improve myself and reflect upon my day. Thank you for your wisdom and a good video.
Great video my Brother! These are the lessons I grew up learning as a child. At least 3 of the 4. My Father was a Scottish Rite Mason for as long as I can remember. He joined Iron Springs Lodge in Little Rock, Arkansas. When I joined, I joined a York Rite Lodge here in Louisiana. My Father and brother both worked in the conferring of all 3 of my degrees. I was then taught the 4th. I raised my children on 3 of your suggestions as was I. God bless my Brothers and peace be with you! Silent Brotherhood Lodge #146. R.W. S. Hester DDGM 6th Masonic District, Grand Lodge State of Louisiana
That was very helpful, thx. I'll do 1 and 4 straight away today.
Great point. Can you imagine how much better our world would be if more and more people follow these 4 principles?
We all need to be the change we want to see in the world.
Very much as Scouting . Boy Scouts , Girl SCouts , Royale Ambassador ...
Bro Edwards, I admire your dedication and love this channel. As you can see, you are followed even her in Namibia. May everything good happen to you, all of our brethren where ever they may be...., and those closest to you. Ill Bro Dr HC Strauss.
Thank you so much sir!

Every day I practice the golden rule of treating people the way I want to be treated, as well as always being ready to help the unfortunate in need.
Thanks for the video and being willing to walk that path and share your thoughts. Shout Out to The Valley of Stockton, Orient of California. And my humble Blue Lodge; Volcano Consolidated Lodge No. 56 in Amador County, California.
I am an EA, 3 months in. Thanks for the amazing video.
Congrats! And enjoy the journey!
Listen to a new genre of music, a new song, try a new food, taste a new flavor, a new spice, a new fruit, feel a new feeling, sobriety, try eating no meat, no dairy, no gluten, no sugar, no fast food, no nicotine, no caffeine, no chemicals in cleaning products... removing things is something new to try everyday because it is making room for new energies to enter your mind. New perspective.

I'm not a mason but these are a great few rules to add to my life. Thank you for your wisdom
I want to join Masons since i was a kid and keeps on learning about how to become a masonic i believe my dream will come true one day
Enjoyed this very much. My son-in-law is very proud of his Scottish heritage, also an Eagle Scout. Is now studying and considering presenting himself for membership. 🎉
Ive watched a couple of your videos and they are very inspirational TY very much
Excellent thoughts for us to add into our daily routines my Brother! I usually end up doing a bit of combining #1 and #4 in my daily routines! It really helps me start and end my days in a positive manner. David D. Mattock #87
Thank you for sharing from Punta Gorda Lodge 115 and Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Myers Fl
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. brother.
Great video my brother.
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
Thoreau
Thanks Bro. Mike. Hope you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving. Hope to see you again soon!
I'm not a mason, but I think this is a really good video with good advice for anyone. My father and my maternal grandfather were both masons and were actively involved most of their adult lives.

Brother, South Mississippi here...
I gotta say the very first thing you said about prayer first thing in the morning and in the evening made me tear up a little. I needed to hear that.
I normally do on the regular but it's more of a habit when I need and not always to the level you mention.
I needed to hear that.
I will now resume the rest of the vid and am subscribed as of now.
If one wanted to contact you how might one?
Thanks again, I hope soon to be a Freemason brother as well.
