How did you not include Nickelback? They even did a documentary on the hatred. I personally think they are great. Over saturation plagued them as well as Phil Collins in the 80’s. People got sick of hearing the hits and radio over played artists to death on that platform. Great vid thanks
Great video! I do or have loved every band in this list at one point or another in my life (excluding MGK, who I’ve never really listened to), and never really understand all the hate. But I completely forgot about Puddle of Mud, so I’m now currently listening to their debut album again and remembering the words…so clearly I was rocking the heck out of this in high school back in the early 2000s, hahaha! Great video, man.
Most of these bands are laughing all the way to the bank - I don’t think they mind the hatred as they sell lots of concert tix and t-shirts.😉
A band that gets a lot of hate is Ghost. I think they’re great but many think they’re posers and not “metal” enough
That’s a great pick (and one I forgot about). It took me a long time to finally check them out, but when I did I became a fan. I think that a lot of metal fans see them as not metal enough, and rock fans see them as too metal or more of a gimmick band.
Coldplay?
Good video
Creed is an amazing band.
most of those bands you showed are freaking trash. Coldplay and U2 dont really belong in the conversation.
I love Creed and Puddle of Mudd! Both bands, along with Nickelback, who I also like, got heavy rotation years ago in local strip clubs. I think Korn had some hateful lyrics on their first album, if my memory serves me correctly. I like Green Days early stuff, but always preferred the Offspring to them.
Morrisey?
Three bands that deserve to be hated are limp bizkit and nickelback and coldplay 🤮
Agreed, but I always liked Chocolate Starfish from LB, and I think the one before it. Of course I was in my early 20's just partying it up tho
Coldplay. I don't even call them a Rock band. I keep their albums on the pop section at my store. Maroon 5 if we can call them a Rock. U2 for the obvious reason. Foo Fighters... overrated
They are definitely on the poppier side of rock. Some of their stuff I’d consider space rock, but I understand the pop label.
Wow. No Nickleback.
I thought they were too obvious of a choice. Plus I think I pick on them enough. 😂
U2 get hate because of Bonos politics
I’m not even sure if it’s just that, because many musicians share (and have openly expressed) similar political beliefs. I think it has more to do with the arrogance he does it with that really turns people off.
@@TheVinylDen I just read it as a comedy routine or a wind up.
REM
Elvis Costello and The Attractions
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band
Mumford and Sons
Queens Of The Stone Age
Arcade Fire
The Polyphonic Spree
Foals
The Beautiful South
Arctic Monkeys
Ooh, the Springsteen pick cuts deep. 😂
I love his early stuff but after Born in the USA there was a steep decline in quality.
I dont normally get into disliking or hating on bands. But I make an exception for U2, I despise em,all of it, the early stuff, pretending to be edgy but was safe as f**k, the later banal corporate rock, the arrogance of downloading there music without permission, the ridiculous hype around each release, Bono.... Bono alone would make me hate them..a shallow narcissist.. i can think of 3 or 4 songs i like.
I think “corporate rock” is a great label to use for them. They’ve definitely played it safe on their post- Achtung Baby releases. When they released Achtung Baby I really thought they were on their way to being the next great rock band, but have been disappointed with almost every album they’ve released since.
