  • Welcome to Sarah’s UK Graveyard, I am an Oldhamer now living in Barnsley South Yorkshire England.
On this channel we explore several graveyards around the UK we also visit historical sites visit local towns and look at the interesting architecture that we find in everyday buildings whenever possible would look to link those buildings to the people that have passed the graveyards. Also I like to create things in the house I do in individual decorative ideas, I'm not scared to ever go at doing something and soon I'm going to be taking on the biggest project they have shown on the channel.
If you want to contact me directly you can do so on the following e-mail
    uk.graveyard@gmail.com
I am also on Facebook under Sarah Jones. Soon I think I'm going to start a channel on TikTok, but we'll have to wait and see about that one for now.
Until then please leave me a comment like and subscribe to the channel which just helps it grow we are now at 3000 subscribers which I can't actually quite believe look forward to seeing you in the next video thanks for watching everybody and see you soon Sarah

Hi Sarah...You know, all the times back in the early to mid 909s I'd sit outside the Lyceum sat on the end street lamp watching the annual Carnival-Parade go by...and I never saw the Lyceum open...Even in passing the odd week...It always looked closed...That original Victorian architecture is absolutely outstanding...and well preserved....

Hi Sarah. Lovely to see you and your family on Friday. Loved the video, it included stuff I missed the first time around. My wife, laid up with her feet, also enjoyed it, having, like me, never been into the Lyceum herself. Look forward to seeing your next trip out. Paul xxxxx

Hi Sarah. Thank you so much for this video.... some 53 years ago i played snooker in that room..... went a few times but was only allowed to play once ( i was 12/13 yrs old). It was a smoke heavy atmosphere with thick curtains that were never opened....... i lived in oldham for another 30 years and never went back....... how nice to see it all restored.
I also used to go to a climbing / walking club in the building next door, the condemned one.
There used to be a Turkish baths on union st sort of opposite where you are....... but that was long before my time

Great memories and yes that was central baths. When they demolished it was noted as the last of its kind but they demolished it anyway xx

Hi Sarah, That was fascinating! It's a shame the other half of the building has been left. It drives me nuts to see old buildings full of history not being used. So sad. Oldham council should do more to protect the towns history.

Hi, yes they should. What I don't understand is if it's listed so much they can't put a rail outside, it's important, so why can't they keep it in good order x

Thanks Sarah that tour was really interesting, i love looking inside old buildings, i bet that's interesting to see inside, the old club further down Union street, facing the chronicle building, i can't think of it's name, I like watching when those guys find a way in and explore, they did it with the old natwest at mumps and old Bailey's night club on king street,
Wow don't you look like your mum, I kept thinking it was you, but then you was holding the camera, thanks Sarah

    • @SarahsUKGraveyard
      @SarahsUKGraveyard  10 днів тому +1

Lol. Yes I'm a very good likeness of my mum. She has much thicker hair though xx it's the conservative club. Same architect that build the old library did that too. I made a video about 3cyears back talking about what he did, it was a massive scandalxx

Wow !!-look at that beautiful Stair-Case"--in the "Lyceum"-just Fabulous,-man I could look at that "All-Day"-thanks for the "Tour"-just "Old-School"-correct--(I think "Lyceum"-is from the Latin.

"Lyceum"=is the name of a"Gymnasium"-in Ancient Athens,-dedicated to Apollo-Lyceus.-(this is "ammunition"for you,-if people say "you don't know what your talking about !!)--
