How do I get into the hitch lock with the black plastic cover? I lost my key and I tried picking it but I too was surprised at the key-way. I'll probably end up getting a sawzall.
Your video is helpful! Big thanks! Overtime the little spring is not moving. I need to push the pin a little hard into the lock to work the action a title then the pin lock and release the key!!! I agree this lock pin is a solid unit!
Thanks, very nice review. It would be helpful to hear about how it holds up to weather. So many hitch locks out there fail due to corrosion. Yes, very secure but very difficult to remove.
I have this problem now, I cannot get the lock off of the hitch pin even with the key turned. I would assume that the bearings holding onto the pin are rusted.
HELP! My Reese pin lock won't accept the key! I mean not one millimeter. This is the fluted-body, double-headed hitch so I can adjust the height and flip the body to use one size ball or another. Great convenience, until the lock decided not to permit the key to enter the keyway. Has been used in a windy, dusty, gritty environment in the Fl Keys.
Troubleshooting would be the first to determine if the tip of the key or the beginning of the keyway is damaged there is a difference between the key not even attempting to insert and getting stuck and the key inserting a little bit and then hitting the first pin which may be jammed and then getting stuck. Put a bunch of oil in it let it sit for a few minutes and then try slowly working the key in and out
Come on bro pull it out and put it back in (make it hard too get that nut off). Sorry man had to do it. LOL. I'm still a child with this kind of stuff. lol

Can you leave them in while towing ?
How to you get a Haulmaster key replaced when you loose it? I have carboard I bought it in with numbers on a sticker? Then what?
Another great lock video!

I do not reconnect to put it in the rain 24/7. Only use when we need it. And need to oil and rust free!
Are you kidding me it’s the best lock money can buy cause you can’t ever get it off after a few seasons lol
It's all fun and games until you lose your Reese pin lock. Which I did! Big dummy me.
