  • This unit is better then the other reese locks as it uses a 4 disc lock core but it uses a cast zinc center section making it easy to drill as I demonstrate in the video. it has a lot going for it but they should have made the internals steel.

Given enough time a person can overcome every lock I have ever seen.

Greatreview, but you could not grind down to see if it was pressed or threaded end cap?

Thanks. We wasted 45 min of time and your video showed us what to do in 10 seconds.

Great review and opinions as well as good demo showing it being drilled out and how easy they can be to get open @Catus Maximus

All a lock does is keep a honest person honest

No lock necessary for honest people

Believe it or not, that ball release system is similar to ones used for a "quick release " wheel for high end manual wheelchairs to allow for quick storage in a car.
    Good video!

      Believe it or not.
Those same pins your speaking of. The same but in a larger size to that Reese pin.
Will hold your car and truck up in the air when they tow you home from 200 miles away.
I did it for a couple of years after i retired because the real pins were to expense to loose so i stuck a plane jane reese pin in and down the road i went in a 4 car carrier useing those pins to hold the last car on a wheel lift in the air.

I half expected you to pick up some lock picks. Could take your channel to the next level? 🤔

Thanks for showing us that this is better for being a paperweight than a true trustworthy lock 🤣

Watching you rock that twist drill around from absolute vertical was excruciating for me. Good video otherwise.

@Egg Chen , what would a thief do?
To remove a pin like that.

@Egg Chen , It takes a thief. That thinks like a thief.
      You plan on stealing something?
      Because im a licensed
Thief. (Retired from Office) i could have gone country wide or globally. But. I was done thieving.
I hope this is not your way to start.
Be honest with your self. This video showed what could happen when it happens to others to know what to do.
      By drilling into it.
This was a class "A" thought with out damaging the Vehicle.
      Have a good morning. 😇

    The best way.
I see, removing that lock. That is damage free to your Vehicle.
    Watch it 3 times
And went and looked at my tow hitch.
    👍👍 up Catus.

I think a peice of 1 inch galvanized pipe over the locking part would have pryde it right off ???

More heartbreak for those simply trying to secure their trailer hitch ........

Big difference and much easier to stand over the drill and press body weight down on the drill while holding a vise grip on the lock half and a vise holding the other half down. However, when the lock's on the vehicle it's much more difficult. First the dirty rat thieves have to stoop, kneel down or sit on their rear to get to it. Then, of course, exert more energy than they like to apply enough pressure against the drill while holding both ends of the lock stationary. The days of using a pipe to easily and quickly snap the lock end off on this one are over. Hah, they'll have to do something their allergic to; work for it before walking off with it. Weld a thick 1" steel pipe on both ends of the hitch that's enough to cover both ends of the lock when inserted. Make them hate ya so you'll hear them cussing outside, then holler out if they need a brighter flashlight!

Tried the drilling, didn't work. Grabbed a pipe that fit over the cylinder -per another youtube suggestion, and cranked it right off. The cylinder broke off easy peazy. Don't bother drilling, takes too long and hard to do.

This lock is garbage. I spent a half hour with a Dremel tool cutting it off because it wouldn't open no mater what I did.
