Brilliant video Robbie, a masterful exhibition of turning skills, plus a very interesting history of the Cooper's trade, and the barrel looks beautiful. Great work my friend.
Take care
Mike
Fascinating commentary on the process of making a barrel and a lovely end product too. Many thanks.
Fantastic Robbie. The Cooper history was wonderful too.
Robbie, Your a gentleman and a genius .Your videos are Brilliant.
Once again Robbie you amaze me. I live near the Napa Valley in California and they still have coopers here that make wine barrels. Sadly It is a dying trade but your history lesson was incredible.
Also I went to the place where they make the barrels and guess what, the guy making the barrels was from Ireland. This was long ago but I still remember it well.
Thanks for sharing my friend. It's always a pleasure to see you turn.
Mark
Robbie, your work is wonderful, don't ever wonder why the number of subscribers are increasing... they appreciate a genius at work. ....congrats on beautiful work with a history thrown in for good measure
Great video! I love the way you give a complete history and description of the coopers barrel. Most of us know how to turn but your use of camera angles, perfection of touch with your tools and substituting instruction with a history lesson creates a video that rates among the best I've seen. Great job!!
That little project has the WOW factor all over it! very nice and also inspirational if I may say so. Thanks for a great video Robbie.
Great video my friend!
I guess I have to watch it a couple of more times than the 4 times I did by now.
I don't know where to concentrate on, the surprising details of your turning, or the amazing history of European craftsmanship you told.
Your barrel is a tribute to a dying craft and you put the same pride into this functional miniature as the coopers do with their barrels.
Thank you for sharing this project on the Woodworking Europe Collaboration Build.
Greetings from Good Old Germany
Peter
You're a true artist Robbie. Awesome video
Robbie, this is fantastic. Tremendous craftsmanship and a terrific video!
Outstanding Robbie. Beautifully done and a great history lesson from a simpler better time. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Great video Robbie.... It is allways a joy watching your videos and the technics you use... A beautifull piece of work Robbie... Thanks for sharing and being on the Woodworking Europ Collaboration.
My favorite part of the Guinness Brewery tour, besides the drinking. Was the video showing the coopers who used to work there. Amazing craftsmanship!
That little working tap is fantastic well done.
I'm a big fan of your work. As a new turner (about 2 months now) your videos are both informative and inspirational. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wow,you've done it again! Beautiful piece of work Robbie.
Take care,
Keith.
I loved the barrel/history lesson. You are a good turner.
Fantastic turning Robbie, WELL DONE!
Robbie that is a fantastic your attention to detail is superb. I'm not at all surprised you have subscribers your a likable chap a talented turner with some fresh ideas that inspire others; you one of a few that I recommended to other turners to watch as I was recommended to watch you by another. Keep it up as long as it gives you pleasure to do so.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Hi Robbie. Nice to see you again. Very creative project. Superb. Marc
Brilliant, Robbie!! A beautiful barrel and a great video. Very interesting history lesson, too. Thanks for sharing this.
Take care,
.....Gord
True craftmanship,nicely done robbie!
Welcome back Robbie and thanks for a great video.
I've never failed to be amazed at the skill of the coopers and how they managed to make them leak-proof.
We have only one whiskey distillery left in the north and the last time I visited it they had a large stock of empty, used sherry and port barrels. I'm sure these barrels have to be reconditioned before being used. When the newly distilled whiskey is stored in these it takes on the golden colour.
Also, I'm old enough to remember salted herrings in barrels being sold in shops.
I also like a small drop of the contents of the whiskey barrels now and again.
The miniature barrel you made is really special.
With sincerest good wishes,
Alan.
Hi Robbie, as usual mate First Class video, and the history of the cooperage brought back so many memories, when my grandad came to Liverpool from Kildare he found work in a cooperage and became a Cooper, as a small boy in the 1950s he would take me to the cooperage and show me around, but these days there's only one cooperage left in Liverpool, I think it is the last one in England, very sad end to a first class trade, thanks again mate. Best wishes Harry
The Little Garden Shed Workshop Hi Harry I think Wadworths brewery in Wiltshire have a cooper that makes and repairs barrels All the best Bram.
Your videos really inspire me to try new turnings.
Wow Robbie, what a fantastic job and how easy you make it look. Brilliant just brilliant
A masterpiece project Robbie! In Poland there are still few Barrel makers, that making it all by hand for few beer companies. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for taking part in the collaboration.
Greetings from Gloucester.
Karol

Congratulations my friend.
Chris.

Great craftsmanship! God is good! God bless!
sir, I just watched this again and was more impressed this time.... So much detail and workmanship.....
That is probably the coolest thing I've seen someone make so far and I've watched a lot of videos. Excellent job.
What a great video Robbie and a good talkie as well love the history. I got to watch some coopers here in the bay area making white oak barrels for the wine industry. Amazing process and very fast as well these guys crank them out with all hand tools. Thanks for the great video!!!
Hi Robbie! Excellent video and the built reference! Thank you so much for sharing! Cheers mate! Daniel
Wow, Great! And what a precision work on that little tab. I do have a few dozen of these old "Barrel Tabs" laying around, collecting them because of their individual beauty, seems every Barrel maker, his his own style, so you could see by it who made the barrel. Sadly here in Portugal they have almost chipped-up all the antique barrels for smoking meat or fish. Thanks for sharing this video and collaborating!
Robbie...... that was AWESOME
from Costa Rica: thanks robbie for the lesson, beautiful barrel, excelent work
A great project Robbie. The level of detail with all the little pieces was incredible. You continue to inspire your audience with every video!
Cheers
Tom
Robbie, An incredible project showing your mastery of the craft. I thoroughly enjoyed the voice over as well.

That was SO INCREDIBLE!
Beautiful work.. Pleasure to watch you making it. One Love
Another great video! Your turning is spectacular. One of the things that sets you and your pieces apart is your attention to detail. This project I plan to try. I had to watch your video multiple times because you did such a great job of telling the history of the Coopers Barrel I would sometimes get lost watching your turning and vise versa.
A lot of detail in this project. Very interesting
Alan
Greetings from the Mountain West of the U.S.A. I'm going to try to imitate your little gem with a chunk of Quercus Gambelli. I enjoy your videos, Robbie. Keep posting.
Lovely project and a lovely video, I love the small details, like the actually tapped tap and the stand it just perfect for it. Would love to see if some whiskey kept for a few years in there will get a different taste....
That is awesome , you're a true craftsman.
Awesome video Robbie. The barrel looks great. You are an amazing tuner. I'm very happy that I found your channel.

Great video, Robbie! The barrel and rack came out wonderfully, and I love the fact that it is "functional". I had a tough time with the sound, though. I'll give it another go to catch what I missed.

Incrível ....Trabalho simplesmente fantástico! Parabéns !Técnica pura ,show .
Hi Robbie ,A great video and wonderful workmanship and so very interesting too.
What a shame those old skills have nearly disappeared , I remember back in the Fifties as kids we used to hop over a wall at the old Ware brewery and try and get some beer out of the returned barrels LoL . the company I work for used to export some of the malt that goes into Guinness btw, I don't suppose any goes into real barrels though. Many thanks for sharing!
All the best Bram.
