2024 Lincoln Tour XP 196/90 Day 2 54.340

This was a mechanically plagued event from the start. We limped through the Pro, where I landed 5th and Eric in 7th in Street 1, and Deana was 4th in Ladies 1 on a very speed maintenance course. After day 1 of the Tour, my 47.938 was 2nd in XP, .303 behind Fred Zust. Bob Bundy and Matt Zyskowski were kind enough to let me run their turbo Miata for day 2. My day 2 time of 54.340 was a tenth faster than Fred by a tenth, but I was still .233 shy of the win. I was really just pleased to have held off hard chargers Jacob Dawson (Fred's codriver) and Mark Shrivastava who were the final 2 trophy spots. Eric and Deana in SSM as well as Layne in XP did not run day 2 of the Tour.
Here was Eric's Facebook post after day one of the Tour:
"This just hasn't been my weekend.
At the Pro we broke an axle, a clutch and the throw out bearing...had the transmission out of the car twice.
Day one of the tour we broke a lower ball joint and an alignment eccentric(in all my years messing with these cars...never even heard of that one)...and had a water loss issue.
I was frustrated...went to the air bnb and decided to troubleshoot the water loss issue this morning....annnnnnd the head gasket is blown again.
While I have enough time to change it....it wouldn't fix whatever the issue really is.
It's impossibly difficult for me to do this....but Im done for the weekend.
I feel I let a lot of people down. Deana Kelley, Layne Lindemann, Randall.....and all the partners who help us play this crazy game.
I'm going to head home, reassess and do my best to be ready for Bristol.
This one hurts."
FWIW, the motor block has been O-ringed, copper headgasket installed, and hydraulic throw out bearing replaced. The car should be stronger than ever. Stay tuned....

Wait a minute, where's my and Steve's time. We were racing our dual quads with overhead chingas that weekend. I could have sworn we placed in the top 100.
