  • Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUPing) provides a challenging workout and it is one of the best things you can do for your core. In SUPing, importance is given to the form. It is a standing exercise as opposed to most other forms of exercise which are done in the sitting posture. SUPing is an excellent cross-body exercise.
In this video, we will learn the benefits of SUPing specifically for your core strengthening and lower back pain relief

Great video Ryan, I have a couple of inflatable boards and a really good electric pump. I've always felt it was a fantastic core workout, and I've needed some inspiration to get back at it! Thanks @Core Balance Training very motivating vid!

Is the SUP motion safe with L3-L4 herniation because the twist is from the hip? I heard to avoid reaching-bending-twisting motions.

Good question! Yes with good form the motion can absolutely be safe and healthy for L3/4. The goal is to maintain spinal stability with your core while driving motion through the hips. Above all, listen to your body and gradually progress towards the goal.
