I really love her generous vision for sharing the tony home experience with other educators. As a retired educator, good fellowship is a wonderful thing!!😊😊
A true Texas Educator! So proud of her and love her home and humbleness. Since I live in Texas I love that she said where she acquired it! God Bless her, please continue to educate our Texas kiddos!
She seems like such a sincere, sweet and caring person. The idea of having tinies for educators is a fabulous idea and I hope your plan comest to fruition. I plan for the same but for Artists of all mediums. The creative community have a very hard time with affordable housing.
Love this! Considering a tiny house after living in an apartment. The rising costs of living in an apartment or house is rising. So living tiny, renting in a community would be wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing this information.
That's what I'm doing, I'm moving out of my $1,735 a month one bedroom apartment to live with my mom and save for my tiny house. The rent rates have become ridiculous.
I love that shade of blue. The house has a decent amount of space and storage. Lowe’s has retractable screen doors and even for sliding or French doors which would be great for you.
Oh my gosh, me too! I had the same thought about providing tiny homes for educators! It's just a dream currently. I am a paraprofessional barely getting by myself.
Your dogs 🐩 🐶 🐕 are adorable 🥰!!!!! Beautiful home! I love that you have an office! I have been drawing ✍️ plans that have a small office in it and it’s cool to see that it really does work!!! God bless!❤
I'm so glad you have a gooseneck tiny home ..if I'm going to buy a tiny home I'm going to be able to stand up in the bedroom I'm glad to see that your place is so long 43 ft that's really nice. Love your place and love what you did with it !!
Love the layout. Looks quite roomy. Hubby and I are full time RVers and once we're done traveling want to do a tiny home. This video gives me a lot of inspiration
With this lifestyle surely you may save more and allot it to other major expenses. There's a lot more of benefits and I am very happy to see you all enjoying life. ❤❤
This is an adorable space. I live in Houston now, but lived in Austin for years. I love Georgetown. I am also an educator who is currently working on my master’s degree in Special Education. Love your home and your kind personality!
Your home is beautiful 😍....I wouldn't mind this ...just wish the ceiling was taller in the loft. Your bathroom is very nice I like the office you can make a third bedroom with this. Be Safe Be Blessed
BEAUTIFUL HOME. YES WE CAN ALL STILL DOWNSIZE SOME OF OUR FURNITURE AND T HINGS. YOU CAN ALWAYS MAKE MORE UPGRADES TOO. MAYBE YOU CAN SWAP OUT THAT BIG MARBLE COFFEE TABLE FOR A SMALLER LIGHT WEIGHT ONE. YOUR ROLLING DESK CAN BE FOLDED UP AND HUNG ON A HOOK IN YOUR CLOSET SO ITS OUT OF THE WAY. SOME BUILT INS ARE REALLLY NICE AND YOU SAVE SPACE. KEEP YOUR COUCH. ITS OKAY TO WANT A REGULAR COUCH. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO.
Fellow educator here! So glad you found a wonderful solution to the money problem. It’s so frustrating how important education is, yet how little many educators are compensated for their amazing work with our youth! My district is great, I’m a 3rd year teacher making $96k (M.Ed), but our neighboring districts with the same education and years make $65k-$70k Tsk tsk tsk how can one survive on that without a partner???
@@TinyHouseExpedition Seriously? I would feel like I was wealthy if I were making that much. If you're not materialistic, it is pretty easy to live on 2/3rds of that. I'm not arguing what teachers are paid. I am just questioning why it would be so difficult to live on that salary.
The food looks really good 👍. Not able currently, but I may try it, down the road. Great looking home , love the thinking ahead about the dog's needs, and the hindsight of plugs and other stuff are a good recommendation to plan out also.
Lovely sized home 🤩 This is the size I would go for if I could afford to buy. You could use the office area for a dining room if you needed to. Or just put a small desk on the same side as the stairs and I'd use a blow up mattress for guests in that space. Just to keep it free from furniture most of the time. You could do yoga or stretching or some meditation in that space if no furniture there. Plenty of options. And nice to have a standing bedroom also.
Nikki's tiny home is so comfy and cozy! It's so light and bright! I love her plants, decor, and the color of her house! It's a tranquil blue! May I ask where the nice storage sofa was purchased? I need exactly that size for my apartment. Great teacher, great tour!👍😊
Thanks for the support, and great question! Not sure about her sofa, but definitely hit her up on Instagram if she doesn’t she your question here (link in the description). It might from HomeReserve. We’ve seen their modular storage sofas in a couple of tiny homes 😁
Thank you for sharing your home. I hope your video gets a ton of views. I think you could increase the size more to have more room in your bathroom, a fuller kitchen, walk in closet...but that wouldn't be a tiny home now.
I am so inspired by your idea to have a community for educators! Your house is lovely! I have a question. How often do you have to change the tires on your home?
This is a beautiful space. Any smaller, and you may feel closed in. I live in a place that's about 400 square feet. Way too small! I don't buy a lot (except i think i have too many clothes!). Even so, it gets cluttered so easily and looks like a disaster area if I don't keep after it continually. Believe me, some days i don't! My declutter time is before bed most days. I'm fortunate in that my job takes me away for a week or two at the time, so before I leave I do a deep cleaning so I can come back to clean and tidy. Still, my place is way too small. Your home looks wonderful and cozy! Edit: It's never been up to my parents for my peace of mind or what I wanted to do in life. It's actually never been their problem. :)
Great, great job! Beautifully planned and decorated. I like how you have a larger couch. I presume it may be for seating guests? Definitely get that net! I know how the bugs are here in Texas!
I could easily live in that amount of space. I like the floor plan. The aging process might hinder having to use a ladder to get to a bed so the stairs are nice.
I think I can guess your favourite colour in one try. LOL :) Thank you for showing us your lovely home. I like the sitting/work area and moving to the primary bedroom.
Hopefully the subject of the video sees this they sell Magic mesh style double door openings now. It's easy to hang up very similar to magic mesh but wider... I think you can get it for anywhere between a garage door and french door size frame.
Hi Daniel! I use the term educator rather than teacher because it is more broad. I am no longer a classroom teacher, but an educational administrator, and I've worked in many roles in education.
When I moved to the 'lesser 48' I wondered what people do to minimize risks of cyclones. If you had a tiny house, would you have access to a tornado shelter nearby?
@@TinyHouseExpedition Good! The nearest 'low place' we have here is a ravine, and across the street, I know our neighbor has a basement, but when I moved here, that was the first priority since I heard there were tornadoes in these parts (Indiana), but no. We live under immense oak trees (nice, but still under them and they are old) AND there are termites! The last tornado that came through here bypassed us by about five miles.
As an educator, I can tell you that we actually DO make pretty good money. I spent most of my career in the legal field, but when I became a middle school teacher last year, I received more money than I had ever made before in my life. So it always annoys me when teachers perpetuate the myth that they don't make much money. Do we make as much as surgeons? No. But we make more than the average working stiff, and we get far more vacation time than any other career I can think of.
It does vary quite a bit state to date. Many young teachers in Texas with little experience make $30-40k per year which is not much but definitely much more than minimum wage. On the high end in Texas, an experienced teacher can make $65k per year.
