We need more Ice Cup of the Days like this!

Yesterday at TrackMania's Cup of the Day, we played a really enjoyable ice map!
Usually, whenever we have ice maps at cup of the day, they often are 100% ice without any other styles mixed into them. That is something I always disliked a lot since ice is super punishing and getting clean runs through on full ice maps is extremely challenging for me and many others. Therefore, only having a couple of ice slides in a map mixed with some grass and road parts, as done by yesterdays map, is way more fun and I hope we will have more of this in the future!
Cup of the Day (COTD) is the biggest competition in TrackMania with thousands of players each day that is getting played on the latest Track of the Day being available for everyone with a paid access to the game.
Format explanation:
-15min time attack seeding
-players will be put into divisions of 64 according to the final ranking after the seeding
-knockout mode of these 64 players in each division until 1 player wins with the following knockout repartition: 64-17 players = 4 KOs/round; 16-9 players = 2 KOs/round; 8-2 players = 1 KO/round

Why do you play in 4:3?

Because you see more of the important stuff like turns and less of the not important stuff like scenery, it’s not good for ice though since you’re normally looking to the sides

I personally didn't find this CotD enjoyable, because it was very beginner unfriendly. I don't mind ice or difficult maps for CotD, but this one had pretty much one acceptable line and was very unforgiving. The first turn was a killer and it's not fun when you can't do first turn without having master ice skills. So I didn't enjoy it because I have spent most time falling out of track even though I have some ice skills.

People still fail the turn even if you are a master at ice. It’s a very difficult turn. I thought it was okay for cotd if you can do it consistently but with a bad start there’s pretty much nothing you can do to come back because the penalty grass makes you even slower. I thought it was decently fun to play in cotd but not so much for hunting because there’s only one line that’s very precise to hit
