I lift. I suck at it and progress at a snail's pace but I'm a wannabe powerlifter. There's a website where you can input your stats and best lifts to see where you rank. The 5 levels are: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Elite. I've been doing this 4 years, and if I put it my stats I rank as a Beginner. Yes, 4 years and I'm still a beginner! I tweak one stat: I change my gender from Male to Female on the form and I catapult to Elite.

Long ago I was the third tallest person in my high school. Even so I was not good enough to ever get off the bench on the basketball team. I just didn't have the body mass to go against other guys. My sister was the tallest female and helped lead the girl's team to two state championships. She was not the scorer or even best at anything but you did not go inside if you were on the other team. She owned the block. She was two years older than me. From the time I was in junior high we would go one on one. She played against me to make herself tougher, better. Even as a freshman, when her team won the state championship the first time I was far better than her, I could outjump her, could out rebound her, could out hustle her. If I had claimed I was female and had gotten away with it there are records I would have set that no girl would ever have broken. This is ridiculous. Girls are girls, let them compete against girls, not weak boys that can't compete against other boys.

When I was a Sophomore in HS I could run about a 60 sec 400m just in gym class with no practice. That would have put me as one of the best in girls sports in WA.
I totally agree, I got talked into running an 800m, with out any training for it, as a part of a relay. I was proud later that my approximate split would have been competitive with the girls running that same distance outright.

It's sour grapes to accept the competition rules, then act all surprised and upset when a biological male smashed your face in (metaphorically speaking, except for MMA fighting where it really DOES happen).
Refusing to compete in these public events and forming new, female-only leagues is the only answer. Anything else is acceptance. And they do need to specify FEMALE, so that there's none of this, "a woman is anyone who feels like a woman" garbage.

I've been doing this 4 years, and if I put it my stats I rank as a Beginner. Yes, 4 years and I'm still a beginner!
I tweak one stat: I change my gender from Male to Female on the form and I catapult to Elite.

Long ago I was the third tallest person in my high school. Even so I was not good enough to ever get off the bench on the basketball team. I just didn't have the body mass to go against other guys. My sister was the tallest female and helped lead the girl's team to two state championships. She was not the scorer or even best at anything but you did not go inside if you were on the other team. She owned the block.
She was two years older than me. From the time I was in junior high we would go one on one. She played against me to make herself tougher, better. Even as a freshman, when her team won the state championship the first time I was far better than her, I could outjump her, could out rebound her, could out hustle her.
If I had claimed I was female and had gotten away with it there are records I would have set that no girl would ever have broken. This is ridiculous. Girls are girls, let them compete against girls, not weak boys that can't compete against other boys.

When I was a Sophomore in HS I could run about a 60 sec 400m just in gym class with no practice. That would have put me as one of the best in girls sports in WA.
I totally agree, I got talked into running an 800m, with out any training for it, as a part of a relay. I was proud later that my approximate split would have been competitive with the girls running that same distance outright.

For me it doesn't matter if there are dozens of these examples or just one or two. Each time it happens it is wrong, but importantly it represents that those who are in positions of authority are not rational people and it's scary that they are the decision makers.

Yes, this is so not fair! I was there at this race. My granddaughter was in that race against him (Paris Ackerman). She had to take a lower place because of him! People did boo him near the finish line when he crossed it. Many there didn't know he was a boy till later.
