    Thank you for doing these videos. Even though I don't have access to a air brush for painting my kits, I find it interesting and soothing watching such work be done. Crazy how thin a line you can do on that double action air brush.

    $4.00 for Mr. Mix II pack? I'm seeing prices of $30 for that, which is ridiculous. What's up with the crazy pricing?

    I noticed that when you get acrylics like Mig, they seldom require much if any thinning out of the bottle - they already thin them to within an inch of their lives anyway.

    Hi, I'm wondering if you were using acrylic, enamel, or laquer paint in this video? I would assume acrylic as it sounds like you weren't using a respirator. Also, it looks like you didn't use any primer beforehand. How necessary is it to prime before airbrushing any of the 3 types of paint? Thanks

    I wanted to say thank you for these videos. I have been building gunpla for around years but never had the courage to start painting them. I tried ones with a HG deathsythe hell and it did not turn out well. All I was trying to do was get the white trim on his head. But this is starting to give me a little faith in trying again. Question though. Would you ever consider give tips on painting the little figures that come with. I got the PG GP01/Fb and it comes with worker to work on his retrofit but I don't feel comfortable painting something that small with fine details.

    I can do hair thin lines with a single action brush. You just can't do a varying line on the fly like you can with a double.

    Point it away when engaging the air. If you have any paint sitting on the tip, it could spit it at your work with that initial burst of air.

    Im sorry i should have asked. Why does my paint seem to dry with in the airbrush. It causes clogs and paint splatter. What am i doing wrong? Is it the mix of thinner and paint?

    Would it be possible to airbrush at 80%+ humidity? Would you guys recommend it? I've recently bought myself a decent set (for a beginner) from a local hardware store that came with a water trap, but I'm not sure what kind of paints I should use. I've tried enamel and don't mind how it looks, but I have no choice but to do it outside since I can't afford/don't have room for a spraybooth. What do you guys suggest?

    I'm a little concerned about airbrushing with the tamiya metallic paints because they are liquidy and weird also with clear paints should I still mix thinner with it because they seem really thin already

    Would it be fine if I sprayed acryllic in my room with a fan at the window+the window open? I figured more the issue would be paint particles rather than fumes and figured enough air circulation would get rid of that problem.

    Question: How do you know the colors of each model, is there a site that shows which colors that it could be in real life if these suits were real? (If these suits were real, what color scheme are mixed to create them) For example, the video of you doing Wing Zero Custom.

    so just one small suggestion, why not record the video and then dub the audio on afterwards, would be a much harder to get all of your points over, but not having the fan sound in the back ground would be nice, just a thought, still love the videos very informative

    I have a question, if you (or anyone else) don't mind answering.
    How do you go about to painting clear plastic parts, but still have that piece still clear? I've tried using Tamiya's clear paints but I always seem to end up making the piece not clear anymore. Is it because I was trying to do it with my airbrush? Or should I be using actual paint brushes? This doesn't only apply to Gunpla models with clear parts, but also for car models.
    Thanks!

    • @xIGetUm
      @xIGetUm 9 років тому

      *****
      I haven't touched my airbrush or mixed paint for a while, but isn't the paint:thinner ratio for clear paint the same as any other paint? Or does clear paint require a different kind of thinning ratio? Thanks for replying though! I appreciate it!

    • @xIGetUm
      @xIGetUm 9 років тому

      ***** Thanks for replying (also, sorry for the very late reply)! Another question that I want to ask is how the heck does one go about to painting detailed pieces? To give you an example. like say, the HG Super Zaku Custom F2000, for the missile pods, you'd obviously paint the missile part red (or whatever color you prefer), but how would you go about to painting it? Do you do very careful cutting and masking? Or do you go at it with a paintbrush? Another example would be the missile pods on the HGUC ZZ Gundam since that piece is all molded in red, but how would I go about to painting the 'base' of the missiles black but not getting black paint on the missiles itself?
      I apologize in advance if my question ends up being hard to understand.

    Ok, some questions based on this video. I saw you did the three coats immediately after eachother, does it matter if you let the coats dry more before applying a new coat, or is it better to work in one go so you always do wet over wet? Then once airbrushed, how long on average does the paint take to cure, or does that mostly depend on the paint you use?

    • @Eucep
      @Eucep 9 років тому

      ***** Ok, thank you. Good to know it's mostly a personal preference. Hope that I can try my hand at airbrushing someday. :)

    • @Poppasan13
      @Poppasan13 9 років тому

      Eucep First, thank you Henry for making these tutorials and all your other videos! You're the reason I bought an airbrush a couple years ago. Just thought I'd add my two cents. Airbrushes spray the paint in a very fine mist, so in about a minute or two it will dry enough to touch. The paint won't completely cure to its full toughness for some time (varies on type of paint), but you can at least gently touch it without ruining the paintjob, and like Henry demonstrated you can do multiple coats in a short amount of time.

    • @Eucep
      @Eucep 9 років тому

      Daniel Bova Ah, thank you. Yes that is logical now that I think of it and good to know. I already am used to quick drying paint of citadel, so some of my techniques with hand brushing that should be usable with airbrush too then.

  • @Ratchet4483

    Hi vegeta8259, I did mistake after painting my part where the said part got uneven finish or fisheyes. Is it okay if I fix it by smoothing the entire piece with fine sandpaper and then wash the part to clean up the residues then repaint again? I don't want to strip the entire paint along with its primer layer as they are barely noticeable and I want to achieve matte result, not glossy finish.
    Also, how do you usually paint parts like lower legs which consist of two halves? Do you snap fit them first and paint or you just paint them per piece as usual?
