      About half of the helimeds have doctors onboard ranging from general practitioners with extra trauma training upto doctors who on other days are in charge of major trauma centres, the other medical staff are critical care paramedics, many of the ambulance services also have rapid response trauma cars carrying doctors, helimed is paid for (in England and Wales) by charities with the paramedics and doctors supplied by the NHS, they can also be used as a first responder and while normally they would be dispatched on a ambulance rew request many also actively monitor emergency calls to the ambulance service and will respond if the call sounds like something that they will be needed for, in rural areas it's not unusual for them to be first on scene

      You have no clue how lucky you are!
      In the UK, medical care is a right. In the US, it’s a privilege reserved to those who can PAY.
      In the US, the first question you’re asked when you walk into A&E is: “How do you intend to pay for this?” And “What insurance do you have?”
      Insurance is the responsibility of the patient - it’s very expensive. (Many play the odds hoping they won’t end up with a catastrophic illness or injury.)
      If you cannot pay - guess what?
      The primary reason for bankruptcy here in the US is medical debt. I love the griping about the NHS! You are so fortunate to have free care! A complicated pregnancy can put you into serious debt. Now that abortion is illegal in many states, unwanted pregnancy is enormously stressful for a young mother or couple.
      One illness or accident can result in losing EVERYTHING you own. You own your own home? They take that to pay off your medical bills. You work for a living? They will attach that. (They ruin your credit, too, by the way.)
      Several people I know well need surgery but they can’t afford insurance - or their insurance doesn’t cover it (or cover all of it) so they do without. And before you blame the patient - employers in the US aren’t required to offer health coverage so it’s up to you to cough up the premiums.
      Lastly, there is zero public will to change this. Nearly half of Americans believe the poor are poor because want to be - or they deserve it. The wealthy don’t believe that their taxes should go toward making healthcare accessible to all. Because - wait for it - medical care is a privilege, NOT a right.

      @katydid5088 2 роки тому +1

      @@strugglingcollegestudent We're going to see an uptick in needs for ambulances and supportive care for non emergencies though. An expectation that professionals handle everything, even non-emergencies, does increase with the provision of nationalized healthcare. Not to say that that doesn't happen now. The number of people who call and ambulance for bubble guts they've had for weeks (or the insistence they will get in quicker with an ambo. Crew escourt) is staggering.
      While I think the reform is absolutely necessary, it is one of the things I am not looking forward to with the proposed healthcare reform. That, and the chronic waitlist.

    • @k_j_n1242
      @k_j_n1242 2 роки тому +1

      @@katydid5088 No system is perfect, but an NHS is pretty damn close, where care and treatment is free a the point of service. In the UK, and countries that have an NHS, you don't have to worry about the size of your wallet in relation to whether you'll get the emergency treatment you need.
      As for wait times, you're right about that. Wait times can be long on the NHS depending on what treatment is needed.
      But there is always the option for health insurance or to pay for private healthcare. People who can afford to do so opt to pay for treatments privately or claim on their insurance.
      For those who can't afford this, they wait and get the treatment when their turn comes.
      I gladly pay my taxes towards public services such as our priceless NHS, who have attended me and my loved ones on more than one occasion.
      I can never be persuaded that this isn't the best possible system of healthcare for all, and not dependent on the bank balance of the few.
      Peace ✌🏽

    this is what universal, socialized medicine looks like. why the USA refuses to do this is disturbing. you don't see these people with some 'opioid epidemic' hysteria either. patient is in pain?? they FACKING TREAT IT. we need this care here. also, doctors on scene of accidents?? BRILLIANT. again, we need this

    The soundtrack demonstrates that the show has been illegally downloaded from the TV which means the security features couldn't be verified and that therefore alters the soundtrack. So a pirate copy for sure.
    Every soundtrack has a watermark along with the usual bylines and watermarks for the video track. This tape/video has neither. No actual marking demonstrating its ownership - they been edited out and the soundtrack is crap due to the security feature not being validated. I dont live in the Uk so I dont know what the real name of this show might be. Any clues folks?
