Exactly, she was the first American. It was referenced throughout the series. She bought her awkward take of British vs American vocabulary. Also every task for her was a surprise that the task could be considered entertaining not just a odd random task to complete.
Greg and Alec specified on Seth Meyers that Mantzoukas is the first American to travel to UK specifically for Taskmaster, not that he's the first American.
Mantzoukis is an old Improv comedian from Upright Citizen's Brigade, and in addition to How did This Get Made, he appeared frequently on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast and is amazing on it. He's an Improv Legend and mentored a lot of comedians from that scene.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Jason Manzoukas is going onto the show, in order to bring a larger USA audience to it and if Jason would become the host of a USA version (second attempt.)
They've been doing more US press events for TM these past 2 (or more?) seasons. I wonder if it's to boost US fans to eventually do a US version in the actual TM format. Not the way they were pressured in the first attempt. The US has SO many comedians that could create decades of rosters for TM.

If you've not heard of them then that's on you, as per this video they have been in many comedy things, so you can't watch much comedy if you've not seen them either starring or writing for those shows

Zoooooooooooocks!
Jason Mantzoukas is not the most famous person to have done Taskmaster.
Most Americans don't know who he is; and there are several other Contestants who have done Hollywood productions (ie: Aisling Bea, Guz Kahn, etc.)
Because of Great British Bakeoff; Noel Fielding has to he the most famous Taskmaster Contestant. Bakeoff has the huge following in the US, Canada, and around the World.
I’m hoping Fatiha and Matthew dilute Rosie Ramsey enough to make her tolerable 🤞🏻
He's not terribly famous in America LMAO
Can't you just get some popular comedians instead?
Wow, brave going for such untried/unknown talent in ALL the chairs. I mean, seriously? this is all you could get? This series could struggle.
British programmes don’t have ‘seasons’.
Rosie///living ptoof of Nepotism....
No, Rosie is really funny on her own. And spouses have appeared before. Lucy Beaumont was married to Jon Richardson, and they are very different.
In fact, Taskmaster Australia S2 featured comedians Lloyd Langford and Anne Edmonds who are partners, on at the same time. And they were incredibly funny.
Doesn't anyone else feel like TM is starting to get down to the bottom of the barrel now? 😒
Clutching at straws for me. Maybe TM has finally run its course.
I'd argue Mantazoukis is worth the price of admission alone. He could very easily go fully unhinged.
TM has always had 2 or 3 unknown comics in its casts. Look at Series 14 and very few people had heard of Fern, John, or Munya. And that was a great cast.
Nope, not heard of any of these people....Think TM has exhausted the list of British celebs that will go on the show, and are now down to 'that woman who was in that thing a while back, stand up comedian who was on that late night comedy club program and imported people from the US....Nope its a pass from me, sorry 😞
Taskmaster introduced me to a lot of British comedians that I had never heard of.
If you've not heard of them then that's on you, as per this video they have been in many comedy things, so you can't watch much comedy if you've not seen them either starring or writing for those shows
Seriously, no need to apologise. Nobody cares.
I'm sorry for you. It seems like you have no idea how huge TM is on a global level now.
And Taskmaster has always had a mix of famous & not-so-famous comics. You look at Series 14 and hardly anyone knew of Fern Brady, John Kearns, or Munya Chawawa. And that was a magnificent series.
@ygyzys I wasn't actually apologising to you but thanks for answering of behalf of everyone that read my comment!
Stevie is gorgeous wow❤❤
Love it pimento 99🤘🤘
